What an intriguing specimen, he thought, casually making his way to greet the snakelike dragon. "Hello!" He seemed to barely notice the dragon was probably focused on the neat little wind chimes that were faintly sounding above the roar of chatter. He settled in the seat next to him. "So...what's your name?" He tried to start, unsure if the dragon would hear him over the others, though he spoke as clearly as he could.

The tiny zap that flew and brushed against her wings immediately dissipated into small snow dust. She glanced over at the dragon.
"Don't worry, I'm not that vulnerable to lighting," she said. However, she made a mist barrier around her for safety measures. Exhaling slowly, she tried to make sure it didn't spread too far and focused it only between her and the lightning dragon. "Try not to touch the mist," she simply warned. As a quick warning demonstration, another stray lightning bolt that made contact with the mist immediately created a zig-zag ice pattern before crumbling onto the empty seat between them.
She gave the other dragon a proper look. The colors were mesmerizing and she caught herself staring at the current rippling across his scales. She almost wowed in amazement. "I must say, you look stunning. Literally," she said with a small hint of jealousy.

His head wings fluttered slightly, surprise coloring each wingbeat. Well that was a powerful ability and he could feel a grudging respect bubble up within him. He nodded in gratefulness as the crackle of ice impressed him. It was a display of power and beauty all in one, a work of art if he was to be cheesy. It was almost enough to make him jealous though that was quickly quashed when Forst complemented him. It was almost a point of pride for his flock to be as close to the storms as possible, blending within the clouds with the colouration being a marker of how important one was to the flock. To hear someone else praise his appearance was certainly a boost to his ego
"Ah, thank you. It's honestly troublesome but I am honoured that you find it stunning." He nodded, tipping his head towards Frost. "Though you should perhaps look at yourself. Your wings especially are almost crystalline and quite dazzling."

At the mention of her crystalline wings, all hint of anger was gone and her cheerful demeanor surfaced again. However, the powerful aura the dragon exerted manage to subdue her chatty behavior and any hint of appreciation and pride was a small smile on her face as well as the brightening emblem glowing with joy.
Her curious side cannot be suppressed however. She had a tingling feeling that she had seen a dragon similar to him somewhere, but she couldn't recall. She cocked her head to the side, trying to remember where she saw it. The first image that came up was a stormy day, but she wondered if that was only because of his appearance.
"Have I seen you before?" she mumbled, audible for the other dragon to hear. "Oh, and is it okay if I have your name?" she added in case it may bring back something from the past that she forgot.

Oh, did this little dragon live in an area that his flock had ventured to before? Many of his kin tended to look similar mostly due to a prevailing problem of inbreeding and the belief that the collective was much more important that the whole so any distinctions between selves was generally looked down upon. It wasn't odd to think that some dragons may mistake one member of the clan for another. Still he fanned out his many wings in a traditional sign of respect for Frost. He was careful not to hit anyone, a difficult task as his wings were large and numerous. Still, he gave his respects and greeted the smaller dragon properly.
"I am known as Lyn of the Stormwatcher Flock." He introduced himself, a distinct note of pride tinting his voice when he spoke of his flock. "Members of the flock tend to travel to various settlements to preform their duties so it is not odd to think that you have seen dragons similar to me. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?"

While the name of the dragon didn't hit a mark, the name of the flock he came from definitely sparked a memory. The area where Frost had come from, high in the snowy mountains, were known for terrible storms that costed many dragons lives for the past few decades. In fact, Frost herself was there to witness one when she was just a hatchling. Not even the noble dragon families were safe from the merciless blizzard. She remembered how the strong gust swept her feet off the ground, how the loud thunder scared the little dragon and how her wings desperately fought against the force of the wind. It was a black dragon that saved her from getting swept away by the storm. One with eyes and scales as electrifying as lightning. She recalled her little self gawking over the dragon the whole time they were around her clan, keeping the storm clouds at bay. She also remembered her promise to them before they left.
She finally realized how close Lyn resembled that dragon and smiled wider. "Frost of Algor. Nice to meet you, Lyn," she introduced herself. She was thankful she met Lyn to remind her of why she came here in the first place.

While he hadn't visited the area, the name of it was definitely familiar. Indeed it was a area where some members of the flock would travel to during storming season. As it was a notoriously dangerous area with not only raging storms but freezing temperatures, only older and more experienced members would travel there so it was likely that it was either the matriarch, one her mates, or another similarly high ranking member that Frost had met. One day, Lyn would be good enough to travel there but for now, it was just another pipe dream
"The pleasure is all mine." He corrected, his lightning almost warmer and softer in reflection of exactly how pleased he was. "I'm pleased that the flock has been able to help your area. Tell me, have the storms there gotten worse? Your area is quite famous for its frigid environments and tumultuous weather and if there's things that the flock can do, then we will do our best."

His voice was deep and soft, and had a melancholy echo to it, like the quiet after a storm. He rarely raised his voice, and his usual volume wasn’t nearly loud enough to reach the other dragon’s ears (his hearing gave him no problem at all in hearing the other dragon, but the skill gave him quite the headache in crowds like this), and he had to stretch his head out from his curl around the seat to allow his voice to reach their ears. In doing so, he revealed more of the deep purple and stormy scales that glistened even under dim light, as if they were constantly damp.

Sitting back in the seat he had helped himself to, Illusionist only regretted he had left all his toys at the dorm. He still hadn't properly met his dormmate or mates when the meeting was called, so he had little to share, but he hated awkward silence, so he continued. "Those are some nice eyes you have. It looks almost as if a storm is coming from them. A sparkly storm. It's cool." He commented on the particles coming from the snake dragon's eyes, glowing with an almost mystical vibe to them. Perhaps some would turn away at the sight of them, but Illusionist was known for being fearless, or perhaps crazy, as was his nature.
Itsu eyed the sparks warily as the crackly dragon took out a book to show her, but decided they weren't a huge threat for now. She studied the book the stranger showed her. Did this dragon unironically read geography books? Odd, the only geography Itsu had ever cared for was the layout of the mountains she had been raised in. "Er, I hope you manage to impress them." Itsu replied awkwardly. She had no idea what to persue after school. Art, maybe? Veteranary care? Probably not, as the only animal she had expertise in was the fox, though she wondered again if that could change. Maybe she wasn't realizing her full potential just yet. She had never needed to, nor did anyone else in her family. That might be about to change as well.

"It has become less life-threatening, thanks to your flock. But a loss of a life or two is still unavoidable," Frost sighed. "I mean, you did an excellent job, but those storms just manage to escape sometimes," she added, hoping she didn't offend the other dragon in any way. "Though, these past few weeks, it's becoming increasingly strong again, as if the wards keeping them away are weakening. Or the storms are getting stronger," Frost said worriedly. "The clan is speaking about rumors of ill-fortune coming. I hope that's not true," she mumbled.
The announcement made by the Earth dragon brought her attention back to the stage. "I guess we can talk more later?" she asked Lyn hopefully before turning her full focus to the dragon on the pedestal.

The announcement that they were going to start soon made Estelle let out a happy sigh. Finally, she could return to her dorm with some peace after this. She did felt a little lonely, though, watching how all the dragons around her get along so well. She missed her siblings back home and wondered how they were coping without her looking after them. She just hoped they didn't burn down the den. Yet. Stretching her wings a little, she made herself a little more comfortable as she waited for the ceremony to start.

"My name is Tren" The earth dragon introduced herself. "I am here in place of the headmaster Dovah, for he cannot attend the ceremony today. But he wants me to pass this message on to you, that you have all worked hard to get to attend this school, and you should be proud of yourselves."

Dragons started whispering about what the crystal of power was.

He frowned at the news, concerned yet surprised. Each year reports of storms becoming fiercer and fiercer grew and more areas were being designated as unsafe for young to tackle. It was worrying to say the least. He too hoped that these were just a temporary spike in incidents and not a sign of something worse to come, but before he could express such sentiments, the ceremony began. Nodding in affirmation, he turned his attention to the stage and let himself relax. The wings on his head fluttered in worry as the deputy headmaster mentioned the Crystal of Power. He had no idea what that was but for someone so high up in the hierarchy to mention it, it was more than suspicious. As subtly as he could, he unfolded the map he was given and began to see if he could find the mentioned room
