"Ah... uh yes. I'm blind so I don't really know what you look like, forgive me." He admitted, nodding. It wasn't anything shameful to him but it always made things weird when that particular card was revealed. Dragons would automatically assume that he was an invalid and trip over themselves to patronize and infantilize him despite him being fully functional without his sight. He just couldn't see, it wasn't like he suddenly couldn't take care of himself. His soft demeanor certainly didn't help with the image as people would often assume him to be naive to the world's horrors as he had never physically witnessed them. Even worse were the dragons who pretended to be helpful only to lead him straight into trees or walk him off cliffs just for a laugh or two. Of course, nothing bad ever came out of such encounters but they were unpleasant nonetheless. He hoped that Nyx or Aether or whatever name this dragon chose to go by wasn't one of those dragons.

Frost ended up losing Araceli in the crowd as they pushed their way into the hall. Worst of all, due to her small body, she was dragged along like a thin leaf in a stormy ocean. A number of scales poked at her sensitive eyes, and when one foot stepped on her tail, she lost her composure. With an irritated growl, she froze the ground underneath her, trying to freeze her feet into place. However, she also ended up freezing some of the other's to the ground. They gave her another annoyed look, something the frail fae was used to.
"Hey, this wouldn't have started if you all came in a neat single file," she scolded, her emblem shining brightly and mist coming out her mouth. Though, just as fast as she lost her temper, she managed to cool herself down and take back all the ice on the ground. She was more angry at herself for causing a ruckus for the whole day. "Sorry about that," she solemnly said as she pushed her way into the hall, ignoring stares and whispers while holding up her head.

After reaching the school, she quickly threw her stuff on in her room and hurried to the Grand Hall. Honestly, she came late on purpose so she could skip the waiting time and avoid having to meet new dragons and all, but she didn't expect to be this late. The candles flared brightly due to her panic as she rushed to the doors, passing by the other dragons who were on their way. When she finally managed to get a seat at the very back of the room, she let out a silent smile of happiness and slumped into her seat, trying to catch her breath. Now all that's left is to pray that not a single soul come near her and talk to her, even though her brightness was enough to call a daring dragon to go and meet her.

"I'm Alpine, and who are you?"
"I'm Flamesurfer. Nice to meet you! Wanna sit together and learn about each other?"
"Sure!" Alpine sat with Flamesurfer, her new frieend. She is so lucky! She found a friend. She always wanted to find friends, but she's a tiny bit shy. The dragon who was also sitting aside Flamesurfer was called Liliac, she later found out. Alpine also heard of the names "Araceli" and "Frost", but she had no idea who they are. Friends for Flamesurfer? Or sisters? Or roommates?

Involuntarily, Pitaya's eyes fluttered shut as he let the music wash over him. If he focused on the windswept tune which gently floated above the chaotic chattering, the jumble of information which assaulted his senses almost seemed to fade into the background. Still present but no longer so glaring that it felt like Pitaya's head was about to split open. The effects were visible as all the tension that had been bunched up within the burly dragon's shoulders was suddenly released and his whole body sagged in relief. The happiness and comfort that was almost baked into the song seemed to be the key to getting such an uptight dragon to finally unravel. Pitaya still had half the mind to hold back the rumbling purr that tickled the back of his throat, shame and propriety keeping him from vocally expressing his contentment in such a primal matter
"Thank you..." He murmured, not wanting to talk any longer in fear of breaking such a precious bubble of peace. "Nyx was it? I'm Pitaya and you have my eternal gratitude."

Lyn had long since entered the Great Hall, having been surveying the grand place before the announcement even came. Therefore, he had the best seat as he had been the first one to arrive. Sitting primly, he ignored how everyone kept a wide berth around him. He understood that others were wary of the lightning that arched across his body, leaping from scale to scale in a impressive display of lights. Of course it was nowhere near as dazzling as what the Light dragons could produce but it gave Lyn an otherworldly aura that warned other dragons away from him. That was fine with Lyn, he wasn't looking for companionship. Other dragons would simply weigh him down in his quest to learn how to better harness his abilities. After all, he couldn't disappoint his family any more than he already had.

Sidon entered the great hall, amazed at how big it was. He went to a random seat and awaited further instructions from the earth dragon.

After enduring the crowd and a bunch of harsh words and stares, she finally made it in safe and sound. Well, with some scratches from all the hassle and frozen feet from the ice.
She trudged in, her bubbly personality diminished by her bad mood. In fact, she felt so downright depressed that she didn't even turn to say hi to Flamesurfer or Araceli even if she saw them in her peripheral vision. Without a care in the world, she plopped herself on a seat on the closest one she could find, which happened to be next to a particular lightning dragon was sitting. Her annoyance fanned by the buzzing sound, she started to unconsciously produce mist in an attempt to stop exploding

After a bit of wandering, she found a cluster of seats that were entirely vacant, and settled herself down, back fox helping himself to the seat next to her, curling his tail around his paws and staring ahead stunningly, his amber eyes mysterious. Itsu leaned back in the seat, clutching her tail in her front oaws, waiting for the ceremony to start.
He decided he should unclip his luggage so he could sit more comfortably, for he had no idea how long they would be here, and in mere moments he had his bags on the ground right by his seat, leaving his torso free and un-cramped. Stretching out long, he then curled himself around the seat like a snake, his head just peeking out of the shadows, his glowing eyes casting faint eerie light around him.
As the song continued, he let out a long sigh, releasing the whole day’s stress in a big breath. Fortunately, today had not ended in a storm. He saw many other dragons mingling and chatting, only filling the Hall with more noise, but Halu tried to only focus on the music that was being sung. It gave him peace, and it helped him drown out the building ruckus of the many dragons sitting around, waiting to start.

He nodded and let the song wash over him. It was almost like coming home, running around the glades and dancing among the arching caves that had littered the fields of flowers. The wind chimes which lined some of the arches ringing with his laughter, joining in the swaying of flowers and foliage. It was home stripped down to its barest bones and it almost hurt to see the bursts of colors that he knew were there but could never see again. But still, he took comfort in the chimes and relaxed into it. His own low rumble joined in harmony, a steady tone that supported the sweeping instrumentation.

How daring of someone to sit beside him. Shifting slightly, he folded up his numerous wings to give the other more room. He couldn't quite control the electricity yet, the only surefire way to simply discharge them and in a space like this it was less than ideal to unleash a whole storm. After all, this was the entire reason why he was here, to learn to better control the powers that even he didn't quite know the extent of. "Do be careful." He grunted out anyways, moving a few seats down as one particular arc of lightning struck a bit too close to Frost. He wasn't going to be responsible for someone getting electrified for his own incompitance
