Frost's ears perked at the mention of the crystals. While her knowledge on them was vague and based on tales of the older noble dragons in her clan, she knew very well of it's importance. The crystals dragons hold dear that give them their elemental abilities, guarded by strong spells. She didn't expect it to in in this school though. She was very eager to see it in person, though she knew the penalties in breaking such a strict rule so she sadly let go of the idea.

Estelle had absolutely no idea what the crystals' importance are, but if they went as far as punishing people to even come near it, she can conclude that it is a very important item. She opened her map and scanned it, making mental notes of places she thinks are important. An area marked with a big, red circle was one that caught her attention. She knew that had to be where the gems were. The very bold red color literally screamed 'Keep Out!' at her. She kept in mind to avoid going near that area.

Lifei unravels her scroll hurriedly, turning her head and tapping all the restricted areas respectively, as if to ask where the crystal of power was. Cosmos fluttered off, uninterested by the speech. “Most importantly, why? Why is there even a crystal of power here?” She asks Itsu.
"The crystal is what gives all of you your powers." Tren continued explaining. "If it were to shatter by an evil force, every dragon in this land would be left powerless."

Tren's confirmation on Frost's predictions made her let out a tiny, small cheer, only audible to the few dragons around her, who obviously gave her the weird look. Frost didn't know why, but whenever her thoughts were proven right, she can't help but feel proud of herself.
Though, her curiosity was still not contented. Knowing what the gems were weren't enough for her. She wanted to know it's very origin, what they were made of, how they gave dragons power and, secretly, what could break them. Of course, the last point wasn't for any malicious intent. She just thought that if she knew what could break them, she can think of an idea to safeguard them or make them more resistant. Her mind full of thoughts, she let out a small "Hmmm...".

"Moving on from these.. dark topics." Tren started, changing topics. "I hope you were all able to find your dorms. If you weren't able to, you still have some time after this ceremony."

It was almost embarrassing how he jumped the moment Aether nudged his claw, claw bumping against the paper. Having been swept away from the windchimes and nature, he had simply let his mind wander along with the winds. He hadn't even realized that Tren had begun speaking, having found comfort in the soft sounds that Aether still made. Once he got the gist of what was going on, mostly through context clues by simply listening to those around him, he ran his sensitive paws over the parchment once more. It wasn't quite visible to the naked eye but the restricted areas were raised higher than the rest, the area outlining where the crystal was kept having small indents on the dome of the marks, highlighting them even more.
"Oh... That's odd..." He murmured, running his paw over the dotted words again. "Why would they put something so important on a map of all things? And... announce it so publicly? It's almost like they're asking for it to be shattered..." That sent an uncomfortable shudder through his body, something dark curling under his belly

His headwings fluttered as he stared at the map and Lyn glanced over subtly at Frost. She seemed to know a lot more about the crystal than he did. It wasn't surprising as hatchlings of the Stormwatcher Flock were kept away from the world, raised by the community and given little knowledge of the world. Briefly he wondered if it was worth the punishment just to go down to the crystal and investigate it. It seemed to be an artifact of great power and if it could help him understand electricity better, then he was willing to face expulsion and shame just to catch a glimpse of such an artifact. Ultimately, he stayed silent and resolved to subtly bring up the idea to Frost once the ceremony was over

"I would once again like to congratulate you on making it this far and good wishes to the future." Tren continued as the teachers stood up from their seats. "In a moment, you will be sent to your dorms, and those yet to find their dorms will have the opportunity to. After this teachers will be taking you in small groups on a small school tour. This is all I have to say, thank you for listening."
The students clapped as Tren stepped off the pedestal. Araceli seemed excited about the school tour

When she reached Opal dorm, she went to her bunk bed and sat down, sorting through her stuff.
Sidon already missed his family, and it has only been a few hours since they all said goodbye to him. But he was in public, there were people watching, he had to push all the sad thoughts away.
Standing up proud and tall, Sidon went to his dorm, hoping to sort his things.

Yawning after the long speech and introductions, Frost nudged Lyn playfully, only using the very tip of her foot to make sure she doesn't accidentally freeze his scales or gets a small shock.
"Where is your dorm?" she asked him. The Opal dorm was not far from the Great Hall so she has plenty of time to kill. She wanted to talk to Lyn more about his flock and maybe bring up the gems every once in a while.

Estelle was probably the first dragon that went zooming out the door. She settled into the Moonstone dorm, sorting her items and books. Several dragons passed by her but she paid no attention to them. She was trying to get as little attention as possible and have some peace and quiet.
She sat on her bed, looking out the window. Maybe she should go for a walk after this...

After the long announcement, Alpine cooled herself, and flapped her wings. “Bye Flamesurfer! See you later!” The ice dragon cried, and shot her way to the Amethyst Dorm. Hope the other dragons can make friends with her.
Aether watches as everyone is dismissed, before asking Pitaya. “Need any help? I’ve got time to kill, AND stories to share.” She asks, scroll now safely tucked behind her scales, as watchful eyes scan the ebbing flow of people leaving the Hall.
As Sidon entered Amber dorm and he started sorting through his things, he found a photo of his big family, all happily smiling at the camera. He really did miss his siblings, just how were they doing?
He put the photo beside his bed, before continuing to sort his stuff

Alpine decided to go explore the dorms first and then meet Flamesurfer.
note: disturb Lifei when she’s studying and that’s the last thing you’ll ever do. other than that she’s pretty nice
She made her way back to the Rose Quartz dorms, perhaps she'd get to properly meet her roommates this time. Her stuff was pretty much unpacked by now, as she hadn't brought much. She was stopped in her tracks by the sound of a large dragon storming out of a female dorm nearby, and turned to see the hybrid from the ceremony storming out, as if irritated by something Itsu lacked the context to know about. "Oh hey...!" Itsu greeted the dragon, or started to, before cutting off realizing she'd never actually properly been introduced to her. "What was your name again? I don't think you properly said." Domino perked up at the strong energy radiating from the crackly dragon, and stayed embedded in the Kitsune dragon's fur.
Upon the ceremony coming to a close, Illusionist gave a quick goodbye to Halu, expressing he hoped to run into the shiny storm dragon again, and headed off to the dorms, carefully, so he wouldn't be trampled by the rush of students in a rather unreasonable hurry to get to their dorms. Maybe now he'd get to meet the dragons he'd be staying with. The dragons that would be his friends for the year. They had to be, as they'd be forced to deal with each other until graduation day.
The black dragon made his way to the Diamond dorm, where he'd left his luggage, hoping to get a chance to actually unpack this time, before being pulled off to another ceremony or whatever. He clicked his keycard and swiped his luggage up from where he'd been forced to leave it near the door. Sniffing the air, he found a bed that appeared to be unclaimed, and busied himself emptying out his things, neatly putting them away in the dresser nearby the bed. His clothing, his toys, his cards, family photos he'd been forced to take, and the little tablet that he'd use to give his family updates. A bit cheesy of his parents, if you asked him, but he could play games on it, so he wasn't complaining.
