Forum-Index → Roleplay → Dragon Academy RPThe hallway seemed to be a lot less chaotic when he stepped out. the noise of the cave fading almost instantly. He supposed this was why the phrase "This is a library, not the school cafeteria!" was coined in the first place, though he could still very clearly hear the loud conversations of his fellow students. He could see Halu's sleek tail vanishing around a corner, and followed him. He thought he heard a faint crackle somewhere overhead, but ignored it for now.
"Halu?" Illusionist called gently, his physique allowing him swift movements through the air. He tried to ignore the smell of the uneaten seafood rising from the tray in his arms, focusing on the serpentine.
He wondered what had caused him to become so overwhelmed like that. Maybe it was all the stress from the first day… he had to get better control of himself. He would have to learn to get used to such crowds. The idea of spending any more time in that crowded cafeteria made his stomach churn, though, so he stayed put, slowly calming down. He still couldn’t shake his lingering nervousness, though. Something was going to go wrong, he could feel it in the air. Then, with a jolt, Halu’s ears picked up the faint pitter-patter of rain against the roof of the school. His tail curled into a spiral at the sound, the rain gradually picking up until it was audible to both dragons in the hallway. He had to make it stop. It couldn’t happen again… not this soon… could it?

His voice shook slightly, and though he had stopped trembling, he was still breathing quickly. He didn’t offer any explanation to the storm or any further details on his mood, though he figured Illusionist could only guess what had caused the rain. He slowly uncurled his tail, trying not to show his uneasiness, and started off towards the library. He took his plate with him, because even if he wasn’t going to finish the food, it would be rude to leave it for someone else to clean up.

Gingerly taking some of the squid, Pitaya nodded and wrinkled his snout at the fruit. Yeah he agreed it was much too strong. Though another detail that Aether spoke about had him pausing a bit. Another personality? He had heard talk of dragons who experienced sudden changes as if they had been swapped out with another dragon completely but had never experienced it for himself. Still, he didn't ask too much about it, figuring that if Aether wanted, she would tell him herself. "So does Emily prefer meats then?" He wondred

Raising an eyebrow, he couldn't help the bubbles of laughter that made his feathers tremble in amusement. Frost's reaction to that odd tropical fruit was much too amusing and he made a mental note to not eat it. Instead, he pushed his unfinished plate of bugs across to Frost to help wash out the putrid taste. The mirth quickly died as other dragons began approaching the table and struck up conversations with Frost. It was a bit surprising to learn that Frost had made so many friends when she had seemed so grumpy at the beginning when they first met. But then again, she had managed to befriend him so it shouldn't be that surprising. With a sigh, Lyn wrapped one pair of wings around his front claws and reached into his tatted cloak. Just by touching the stolen book, Lyn could feel Her influence and it was almost calming if not for the fact that he was illegally in possession of it

He shook his head. Focus on Halu, chaotic maybe friends later. Luckily, again, the library wasn't too far off, but hopefully far enough so that whatever was bothering the storm dragon would be blocked out.
It felt like the noisy, crowded area of the dining cave was a whole other world now. Even Halu’s sharp ears couldn’t pick up any noise from outside the library. Perhaps the walls were soundproof- that would make sense, given that it’s a library. No matter the case, Halu’s nerves began to calm, and his stomach began to settle. His breathing straightened out, and he sighed. “Say, do you think we’re allowed to bring food in here?” He asked, half-jokingly. There didn’t appear to be any teachers around that could tell them off for breaking any rules, but it felt like a fair question to ask either way.

"uh- N-no thanks." he said, going back to eating his fish in slight fear.

"Okay then," she said, tossing the grasshopper into her mouth. Her plate finished, she proceeded to continue munching on the ones Lyn gave to her.
The addition of Flamesurfer wasn't an issue to Frost. In fact, she loved being surrounded by dragons. What worried her, though, was that she was standing too close to Lyn. The stray bolts could easily zap him if they go too far and she wasn't sure if Flamesurfer had a defense for that.
As if faith decided to actually show her what would happen, one bolt flew off Lyn's scales and was coming towards Flamesurfer's face. Frost, who was casually eating her insects and laid back against her seat, immediately jumped and shot a blast of mist directly at the zap, crumbling it into dust. Her reflexes were so fast she surprised herself.
"You might want to keep your distance from him," she warned Flamesurfer. Shooting her mist from a distance was really dangerous and she could've killed someone if she didn't aim it seriously.

"I do eat meat and fish, though I like plants more," she explained before a clatter of plates interrupted her words. It came from the direction of the fae. She turned to see the small dragon standing on all fours, mouth emitting thin layers of mist. She wondered what was going on at the table. Estelle didn't want to be harsh, but she wondered how a small dragon can stir up a ruckus wherever she goes. She saw her before entering the hall too, with ice all over the floor, then she was noisy at the library.
'She sure is a little troublemaker' she thought, making a mental note to try and steer clear from her.

So focused was he on the prospect of being able to read and transcribe Her work that Lyn completely forgot that while he might not be storing any electricity in his body anymore, it was still in his nature to produce it. So when a bolt of lightning jumped from one headdwong to another before leaping to the enct available surface, Flamesurfer, Lyn was too preoccupied to even notice it until it was too late. It almost felt as if he was watching things move in slow motion, the slow cracking of deadly electricity arcing a Ross the air to strike at the unsuspecting dragon before a flurry of ice and mist froze the plasma in its tracks before bursting into a fine dust.
Staring wide eyed at the now empty air, Lyn quickly scrambled backwards as more electricity sparked off his scales, crackling as his horror mounted. "I am so sorry." He breathed, eyes darting from Frost to Flamesurfer. His head almost put a dent on the floor with how quickly he lowered it, hastily exposing the roots of all eight of his wings towards the two dragons in a sign of remorseful apology. "Frost is right, you should be careful around me. Thank you, your speed saved a life today."

Lifei gets up. “I’m done with my food. I want to visit the library since we still have some time left. Care to join me, Estelle?” She asks. Her plate is already cleared of food….and well…cleared. The plate was gone, too. She unfolds her scroll again, and finally spots the library. “There it is….” She mumbles, probably to herself.
"And don't worry about it. You're still the first and only friend I've met in this school, what am I supposed to do when said friend storms out into the hallway for no reason? 'Course I'm gonna be concerned. And besides, where else is there to go right now? Back to the cafeteria?" He could attempt to talk to people there, but despite his social nature, he quite liked the quiet right now, it was something he didn't see often at s.chool

Looking at Lyn, who has his head lowered, she exchanged glances at him and Flamesurfer. The air suddenly grew tense with awkwardness and regret. Quickly finishing up her meal, she stood up and stretched her wings, thinking what would cheer the two up.
An idea came into mind, one she was sure Lyn would like. A glint of eagerness spread on her face.
"Say, Lyn. The race just now wasn't that fun, being in cramped corridors," she started. "I know an open field here, somewhere that would be a better place to actually test our speed," she said. She hoped Lyn's energy was refilled from eating, because she noticed a slight lag in the previous race, indicating he used up a lot of energy. "If you want to come too you're free to do so," she invited Flamesurfer and Sidon. "But try to keep up, I guess," she giggled.

Estelle's face brightened at Lifei's suggestion. "Yes, that would be lovely," she nodded in agreement, quickly finishing up her meals and making her way to the corridor. Finally, some peace and quiet, away from the crowd. Hopefully...
"Are there any specific books you like to read?" she asked Lifei as they made their way to the library.

“You’re right, it would be a waste to leave such perfectly good food behind. I do appreciate the thought. I have nearly immaculate hearing, and to my sensitive ears such crowds become unbearable. I’ve come to learn slightly how to gain better control of it, but I’m not sure what happened today.” Now that Halu had seemingly calmed down, he was able to talk more freely of what had happened. His voice had stopped shaking and now felt like the perfect voice for a library- soft, quiet, and with a deep rumble. “We could possibly go back to the cafeteria, though it’s most likely not the best idea. I suppose we can simply eat here for now.”
