Kat walked over to a river that ran through the trees. It was deep,
but narrow enough for the two to jump, Kat then went over to the
river, and scooped some water from the stream with his hands. He
then took a drink before looking at the current that flowed past.
Lucia followed on in silence, still playing with the hem of her
sweatshirt. She crouched down so she could look at the water and
smiled. Rivers had always seemed pretty to her.
Andromeda made a sound of agreement for Kanti, resigning herself to
her post as cave watch. I hope the others are alright...she
though, unable to not worry.
Lucia tipped her head towards him and nodded in agreement. "It
looks pretty too." She said brightly, tucking her knees against her
chest and crossing her arms over her legs.
Lucia was silent for a few minutes before looking at Kat again.
"Anything on your mind?" She asked softly, moving her arms to her
sides and crossing her legs.
Kat looked over "huh? Uh no...I think I'm going to head back to the
cave" he began with a yawn, and stretched. "I'm getting tired" he
finished, and stretched slightly.
Andromeda listened to the night time sounds of the forest with her
head resting on her paws. I'm afraid if I fall asleep, they'll
all be gone as if but a dream, She thought to herself. Or
worse...
Kat decided to walk back to the cave. He decided to leave Lucia by
the river for longer since the river wasn't far from the cave. He
then went back towards the cave, forgetting to turn into a tiger
once more.
Andromeda could smell Kat before she could see him, her nerves
settling ever so slightly. "The prodigal son returns...",
she said as Kat approached the mouth of the cave.
Andromeda gave a small, wolfy smile, "Nothing, I'm sure...I get
paranoid when people are unaccounted for," she said, looking
out of the cave once more. "There was one other with you,
no?" she asked Kat.
"Lucia is still by the river. Don't worry to much, the forest over
here is very safe, and the river is very close by" he said gently,
and looked over to Andromeda.
"Just an old cabin" Kat said quietly, but sounded partially
guarded. "It's been abandoned for ten years...so we don't need to
worry about any humans coming by there"
Andromeda cocked head slightly, "Interesting...so this place
wasn't always avoided by the humans. I wonder what happened to
change things so much...", she said, thinking out loud.
"Nah it's fine...I don't mind staying here...after all this cave is
where I grew up" he said, and thought of something else to change
the subject. "Anyway...humans don't come here anymore because they
think it's bad luck...a 'beast' lives in this forest" he said
dryly, and air quoted the word beast. Truth was Kat himself was
considered the beast when humans use to come into the forest.
