the Assistant Dean straightened his expression.

"You're supposed to say 'congratulations, student, on your promotion. Upon the next rise of the sun-'..."

the dean cleared his throat.

"Ah, yes. of course. Congratulations, student, on your promotion. Upon the next rise of the sun, you shall see your duties be delivered to your door. As of now, for tonight, and tonight only, you(and one to two students of your choice) will be permitted one night of freedom. Dismissed."

"Please tell me they're finally a thing?" Jack was being pulled along by Kendo down the halls. She had no idea where her was leading her. Again. But for now, she didn't care.

he pulled out a harmonica, playing a few quick notes. The Siren house's entrance popped open.

"hey, you've never been in here, have you?"

he pulled her along. The place was loud. It was nearly curfew, but people were still playing. One group was playing Hotel California, it seemed.

he dashed up the stairs, two at a time, knocking on the third door to the left.

"Sera?"

No answer. But the door was open. She was still sleeping with her legs over the side of the bed. The room was incredibly foggy because of her clouds. Also because she was dreaming. If you looked close enough, the reflection of the fog and mist could display what she was dreaming about. Cats.

She followed Kendo through the ruckus that was the Siren commons. She loved music as much as the next person, but there was a lot going on. She wondered if they ever all just synced, and started playing Sweet Caroline or The Devil Went Down to Georgia...

Jack made her way up the stairs to the dorms to where Sera's room was.

She turned slightly, then woke up. Her bangs covered her eyes, but she was looking at them. "Sorry... Am I late for class?" She sat up and yawned, stretching.

Her clouds turned yellow once again. She nodded her head and got up, holding Kendo's sleeve. Her hands were soft and cool to the touch. And very small.

Jack was peering through the doorframe, and watched Kendo rouse Sera. She really was adorable, especially rolling out of bed. She felt a surge of affection for her friends.
