“Ooh. A hippogriff? Really! I would love to! Did you name him?” Emily asks excitedly. Obviously the two of them loved magical creatures, probably a lot. She takes out a photo from her pocket, showcasing a magnificent female Hungarian Horntail. “Her name is Spikes. It should be pretty obvious why that’s her name.” She laughs.

Sterling looked outside the window, thinking about what the sorting hat said. A new dark lord, one who wasn't known yet. Shimmering hope? What even was that? She hoped she would learn more about it.

“Thanks! Oh— and that’s so, super, duper cute!! He’s gorgeous.” Emily gushes. Suddenly, McGonagall’s voice rings out, telling all students to gather in the Great Hall, immediately. Apparently, the prophecy had developed. The sorting hat was placed once more on its stool, and once all the students were gathered, it opened its brim once more.

A tiger, swan, dragon and eagle
A dove, bear, snake and leopard.
So I have said
And so I shall repeat myself
These patronuses produced by eight
Come from within our very school
But students, beware. For the very monster
The Rising Dark Lord
Shall too appear in our school.
There will be unpreventable deaths,
Injuries and more
Now even who emerges victorious
I’m no longer sure…..

Sterling seemed confused than concerned. What are Patronuses? She hoped it was something she'd learn at her time at hogwarts.

A swan. That was Dimitri's patronus. Why would he be in this prophecy? Or was he? His mind raced as his eyes darted around the room. This was...a new development. He rubbed his temples, trying to think. Maybe it didn't mean anything, maybe it did. But how would he know?

Soleil stared out the window, her mind a thousand miles away from the Dining Hall. Yet another ominous warning from the sorting hat. Soleil had only been here for a few years, but she gathered it happened quite often. The curious thing was the mention of a leopard patronus. As far as she knew, there was only one student with a leopard patronus. "That couldn't mean anything, right?" she pondered this and many other things. Surely the teachers and headmaster would be able to get a hold on the situation. The mention of a dark lord rising was concerning as well, but Soleil chose to take one problem at a time. She had to focus on surviving her seventh year. Soleil watched as students in other houses whispered about the prophecy. Soleil sighed and rubbed the back of her right wrist. A nervous habit, that had started when her parents died when she was very young. She allowed her mind to wander. Almost no one in this school was good at Occlumency, making it very easy to hop into people's heads and leave. Not that Soleil would ever do that, of course.

Having been called back to the Great Hall, Emika quickly recovered the cage on her luggage, concealing her dear pet underneath from sight. Hearing what the Sorting Hat said, she wondered who the prophecy was talking about. The new 'Dark Lord' could be any of them! People would die and be hurt... Not that she cared about the fellow students all that much but still... And these 'patronuses', what were those?? Something having to do with animals... Oh right! Emika remembered reading about different 'dark creatures', one of which were Dementors, which could only be defeated by a Patronus. Seems there was yet another bit of magic for her to study...

Rayne knew the sorting hat had mentioned this before but only now her mind was racing the sorting hat had recited the prophecy the full prophecy her patronus she thought death she thought what was happening... The rising dark lord beads of sweat trickled down her forehead, "Unpreventable deaths, Injuries and more" just as the sorting hat had said. She looked at Emily noticing the concern in her face "it's going to be okay" she wanted to say, she could only hope so

Rey was rather annoyed by this new prophecy. Possible because Expecto Patronus was one of the few spells he couldn't seem to master. Everything works, and there was the magical blue smoke whenever he tried casting it, but the patronus never appeared. To cope with his annoyance, Rey returned to his notebook, and returned to jotting more illegible notes on his new spell.

Faith just looks very very confused. “Isn’t your patronus a swan?” She asked Dimitri.

Meanwhile, Emily’s lips were pursed, as if she was sucking a sour lemon. Her patronus was a dragon. At least, she was pretty sure it was. But it had been a while since she last cast a patronus….Interesting. This year was going to be a whole lot more complicated than it should be.

Dimitri jumped, unaware of Faith even being there. "Yes, it is, but that doesn't have to mean anything," he said in a low voice. "I seriously hope that I'm not a part of any prophecy, because that...would be an inconveince." "Dimitri!" a voice from the Ravenclaw table yelled, "Your patronus is a swan! But don't think you're anything special because of that, y'know? Keep crawling like a bug, Beetle!" the voice belonged to a stout Ravenclaw girl named Jennifer. Dimitri worked his jaw, frusturated.

Emily rolls her eyes. “A patronus charm is a defensive spell which produces a silver, animal guardian, used to protect a witch or wizard against Dementors. It does NOT summon animals to help you.” She explains to Sterling. “It can be any animal, and one’s patronus can change….if they’re going through something big. They are difficult to conjure, as they require a really happy memory.” She then turns back to Rayne, asking her. “D’you have a patronus yet?”


Faith laughs “Doesn’t mean anything? You’re quite literally the only person in this school with a swan patronus. You may not be want to be part of the prophecy, but the hat never lies. Oh and don’t listen to her. The Sorting Hat has never wrong.”
