Phenix stepped forwards cautiously, interrupting the small moment as best he could. "Perhaps it might be better to move to a more permanent place before attempting any first-aid. We're more vulnerable here that there." He nodded at the cave above them, silently begging Maci to hold her caring tenderness for just a bit longer.

Meya nodded, and pointed at the cave. Motioning for them to go there. She tried to stand up on her own and get off the tree she was leaning on. Her legs were shaking but she was able to stand up still.

Maci nods and steps back so that Phenix can help move Meya into the cave. She bites back a string of questions: who did this? Why did they do this? Is that person close? Lucky for Meya, she doesn't speak her thoughts. She had a feeling the last thing Meya needed was to be bombarded with questions.

Watching Meya limp for a moment, Phenix sighed. "Enough of that." Stepping up behind her, ha placed an arm behind her shoulders, the second one catching the backs of her knees and lifting, eventually cradling the Tribute, though with some clear difficulty. Each footstep was suddenly heavier and slower, though progress towards the cave was still made. Phenix's face was fairly red with strain when he set Meya down, the exhaustion from the multiple swims simply multiplying the difficulty of the short carry. "Maci, work on cleaning everything up. I'll look for anybody nearby."

Lifei couldn’t sleep— She sensed too many things all happening at once, and her sixth sense was going haywire. She smelt blood, human blood to be precise, and a very faint hint of strawberries. She picked up a pebble, and threw it in frustration, before picking up her flute and leaving the cave. She wandered around for quite a while, before finding a nice suitable spot near the cave Meya had pointed too. It was nice and quiet, she thought, and she could run in if it started raining. Direction wise she wasn’t too worried. She sat cross legged, and began to play, a eerie, terrifying, mysterious melody.

Meya’s face flushed after Phenix helped her. She wasn’t used to being touched, but she definitely wouldn’t decline the help. “t-t-thank” she stuttered with hesitation. Making sure that she didn’t say anything dangerous.

Maci doesn't say much to Meya while she works on cleaning her up, other than a few simple commands so she can access her wounds. She also mutters a few apologies everytime she thinks she is hurting Meya. She was focused, the movements felt strangely familiar. She has never patched a wound before, but she still knew how to do it. She had seen it happen many times during her stay at the hospital.
Stop it she tells herself, bringing her mind back to the task at hand. She was impressed with the contents of the first aid, it had everything she would need to safely close her wounds. "I'm sorry, but these wounds will probably scar" she tells Meya as she stitches up the wound. "I'm surprised to see pain killers in here, let me know if you need any-" she pauses and hands her two. "But for now, you should definitely take these so that you can relax."

Phenix stood with a grunt, then paced off into the woods, always keeping an eye on their to-be camp. He could hear a flute in the distance, though he didn't dare attempt to explore it. After a moment, he pull out the phoenix charm that his stylist had given him, realizing just how much it had been digging into his skin under his collar. Rubbing a thumb over it, he continued his proximity check for the cave, then started back towards it.

Lifei spotted the Phenix in the distance, and glanced at the cave. Dammit, she thought, before picking her flute, cleaning it and dashing away. She bumps slightly into Phenix, then Maci, and sighs in exasperation. She runs quicker, soon reaching the cave while making sure nobody noticed her. She washed up in the small waterfall pool, before going back to sleep. Well, after sorting out the weapons and food, carving storage areas for the different items, with vines covering them. She decorated the place with wildflowers- non-poisonous ones of course, before waking Echo up and making her shroud the cave in darkness for extra protection. After all, all three of them wanted to sleep.

Meya winced when she cleaned up the wounds, but didn’t complain. She silently took the painkillers, hesitating to take them at first but she had to keep reminding herself these people wouldn’t hurt her. At least that’s what her gut told her. “He wanted food. No violence. Strange creature fought him” she stitched together her these few broken sentences to try and explain her encounter without saying anything that could hurt them.

Alana and Lucky watched as Maci patched up Meya's wound(s), both of them looked a the sky as if waiting for the cannons, but there were none. It was clear Alana wouldn't be sleeping well tonight.

(I'm sorry for lack of activity! I'm working on the Nuzlock and I just got to Rose's tower!)

Approaching from behind Alana, he gave the girl a light pat on the back, a silent thanks for the strength she'd already shown. Resting his hand on her shoulder, he listened to Meya's report. "Well, whoever 'he' is, he's nowhere to be seen. No sign of any strange beasts either. Do you think it was a Mutt?"

Meya shook her head, “It was like human, but a ghost” she said to Phenix while recounting the memories. From what she remembered, one bullet went through the ghost and the other hit some sort of flesh. It disappeared soon after. It just didn’t make sense to her.

Phenix frowned. "Strange indeed. Any defining characteristics? Definite abilities you saw? If that's a Tribute, then we'd best be careful." He seemed to be wondering aloud more than stating anything, an odd habit he'd seemed to have picked up.

Alana jumped when Phenix patted her back, already forgetting that he was there. The fur on her tail and ears stood on end making her much fluffier than normal. Her face twisted into shock then confusion then fluster. "Don't do that!" Alana whined

Meya winced when she moved her arm, but scratched her head anyway. “It must be. It tried protect me” she said with a puzzling look. “It copy faces” she said after searching through her memory.

Phenix apologized quickly to Alana, then tilted his head. "Protected you, and copies faces?" After a moment, he nodded. "Intriguing." A few moments of silence passed, only broken by Phenix sighing. "You'd best get some rest. If anything goes wrong, I can carry you out of danger." Crawling up the mountain a little more, Phenix say down on the grass. "I'll take first watch. You all rest."

Lucky super jumped into a tree then carefully picked a forking branch and settled in for the night. Alana on the other hand was too restless, her tail flicked back and forth agitated as her eyes darted around.

Raising an eyebrow at Alana, he gave her a questioning look. "Why so anxious? If something goes wrong, I can defend all of you. There's no need to be restless. You should sleep, unless you want to stay up and listen to my terrible jokes while we cover the shift."

Alana's ears drooped slightly as she crawled to sit in Phenix's lap. "I. . .I'm homesick. I just really want to go home and see my mothers. I don't want anyone to get hurt and I don't want to kill anyone." Alana's voice had dropped several octaves, her tail was wrapped around herself in an attempt to console herself. This of course wasn't any way for a tribute to talk, but being so young it could easily be overlooked.
