Phenix glanced quickly to his left, doing a double take when he saw Maci. Quickly waving at her, he gave her a questioning look, asking her silently about the anxious look on her face. He didn't seem to understand, and he wasn't willing to use his ability with so little time to spare.

T'val readied herself to dive in, rolling her shoulders and neck to loosen up. It had been a while since she'd competitively swam. Hell, it had been a while since she'd swam at all. She remembered her swim team, so long ago, even before gymnastics.. She hadn't done so well in that.

Catching movement on the corner of her eye, Maci spots Phenix next to her. She feels herself relax, but only a little bit. It was nice to see a familiar face. Especially one that wasn't hostile. She had enough on her plate as it was. The last thing she needed was to be attacked. She shakes her head at him, silently telling him that everything was not alright. She glances down at the water again, staring down at it as if it were quicksand.

Lucky looked around and frowned as she thanked her lucky stars that she was part human, otherwise her time would be up pretty quickly. She dropped down into a diving stance.

Alana glanced around trying to find Phenix, spotting him a short distance away.

Ariel and Star finally spotted Sorrento a few rings away.

Faith and Salvadore were next to each other, Faith looked reasonably concerned as she gaped at the water. It wasn't that she couldn't swim, she could but with the baby, she was visibly concerned. But Sal gave her a nod, he had an idea.

The gong sounds. Lucky, Star, and Ariel dive in, the green Octoling swimming towards the land while Star and Ariel towards Sorrento. Salvadore jumped in the water first then helped Faith and her baby in, once in, Faith made a small ring to keep her baby afloat while both Sorrento and Faith sawm to land.

Alana, unfortunately, found out the hard way she couldn't swim very well. Despite her powers working they only kept her afloat, leaving her struggling to make it to land.

Phenix leapt into the water, long stroke from his arms carrying him easily to Maci. "Jump into the water, then grab onto my neck. I'll carry you to shore." He placed his hands on the pedestal that she stood on, keeping the waves from tugging him away.

T'val jumped, her body quickly going straight as she hi the water, afterimages trailing gracefully behind her. Her paddles and kicks and stroke were shockingly strong, much to her surprise. As she swam, she took on a pattern. One, two, three, breathe. After a few moments, she felt her hand brush the ground, causing her to stand up and start towards the center at a hard sprint.

Mare dived. As soon as the cold water hit her skin, she changed. Reaching the cornucopia in record speed, Mare ran towards the armored bracers. As soon as she touched them, she heard the mechanical whirling. Mare slid her hands into them and clenched her fist. Yurei was no where to be seen. Mare decides to grab supplies. She grabs a backpack only to look down and realize someone just attacked her from behind. She whips around and (some random NPC tribute) stands behind her, panting. They have a sword in there hand. "COWARD!" she shrieks, launching herself at them. One swift blow with the gauntlets and they went down. "You killed him!" another NPC tribute, presumably the first's partner, screams, her voice shrill. Mare takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." she says, before closing her eyes. She hits a blow to the second's head and they crumple to the ground like the first. Mare turns and runs before she has to kill anyone else.
His smile has a grip on me <3

"Are you sure?" Maci asks, her voice cracking slightly as she fails to hide how terrified she was. But what choice did she have? It was either wait here until her energy returned, or accept help from Phenix. She slides off the pedestal and kicks her legs furiously underneath the water, at the same time, she moves her arms in a fluid motion (don't know how to describe it, but you get the idea) so that she can keep herself steady above the waves. She sucks in a breath of air and begin to shake violently. Images of her fight with her uncle appear in her mind. She can already feel her muscles locking up, not from her exhaustion, rather her stress.
Fight the voice sounded like Jaxon's. It drags her mind away from the fight and throws her back into reality. Suddenly, she feels a burst of energy move through her. She swims the short distance over to Phenix and wraps her arms around his neck. Although she tries to continue keep kicking her legs out under the water so that her dead weight wouldn't be dragging him down. "Thank you" she tells him.

Phenix pushed away from the pedestal, swimming as quickly as he could to the shore. After a few tense seconds, he seemed to adjust himself ever so slightly, then started to pick up speed. The awkward duo would make it to shore within the next few seconds, Phenix's lean muscle suddenly showing how strong it was. Maci might have felt his neck tense every time he brought an arm forward, the exertion hardly wearing on Phenix as he carried her.

T'val entered the Cornucopia, snagging a heavy backpack, then whipping around as a loud thump drew her attention. A frozen afterimage, proclaiming, "Oops," stood above the body of a boy, who held a knife in his hand. Prying the knife quickly from the body, she looked for Narukami. Quickly hoisting the bag onto her shoulders, she armed herself with the knife and began to turn slowly, searching.

With her newfound energy and the help of Phenix, Maci finds that she is able to keep herself up above the water and also swim fast enough to keep up with Phenix. Although she isn't sure how long this'll last for. She chases this thought away and focuses on the shore ahead. Her heart was lifting the closer they got. Finally, they were close enough that she could stand in the water by herself. "Thank you" she tells Phenix again. She glances over his shoulder. "Where's Alana and Shiloh?" She asks

Standing up after Maci let go of his neck, Phenix crawled onto shore and looked around. With what seemed to be a profanity, he started off at a sprint, though now towards the Cornucopia. His eyes were fixed on a small object that floated in the water just nearby. as he reached the water, he dove in again, swimming as quickly as he could towards Alana. His haste had caused a few shouts of warning and alarm to go up nearby, and a pair of daring Tributes seemed to be rushing after him, though they halted at the water's edge.

Alana saw Phenix swimming towards her and she tried to swim towards him to shorten the distance, but it was more floundering around than anything else.

A tribute tried to kill Maci while her back was towards the tribute, but just as Maci turned around and saw the threat, a large blob of green ink knocked the tribute down and kept the cursing tribute down as if they were restrained.

Faith and Salvadore had made it, as Faith picked up baby Charlie, Salvadore made a shield of electricity to protect them until Sorrento, Ariel, and Star showed up.

Naru... didn't know how to dive. Sure she swam to keep in shape, knew the four basic strokes, and could flip off the wall but diving? Nope. So instead she ran straight at the person who was unfortunately stuck beside her and tackled the tribute into the water. The tribute struck his head against the platform and Narukami for good measure took the dazed tributes shoulders and rammed his head into the platform again and again until the water around them was dyed pink before she finally let go of the dying tribute and kicked her way up to the surface. Taking a gasping breath of air, she began to swim towards the island as her powerful butterfly stroke drew the attention of other tributes, terrifying some. It wasn't long before she reached the island and rushed for the first weapon she could see, a pair of gauntlets that she slid on immediately before looking for any signs of T'val.
Breaking onto land, Sorrento immediately dragged Ariel up and out of the water, spinning around to survey the water. There were still some tributes left in it and Sorrento grimaced. "I hope this works." He muttered to himself before clapping his hands once. It wasn't a loud sound but it was easily manipulable as Sorrento slowly bounced the sound back and forth slowly increasing its power and range until the waters were frothing with how much the sound was disturbing it. In a few minutes it would become hard to swim to shore with how much the water was throwing tributes around.

Surprise flickers in Maci's gaze when she realizes that she had just evaded death. She shoots Lucky a thankful look before returning her gaze to Phenix. That's when she notices the sudden danger he is about to face. Maci curses outloud. She may be low on energy, but that didn't mean she would sit idly while some tributes waited to attack Phenix when he went down. She turns around and storms towards them. "Hey!" She shouts. "Grow a heart please, and leave us alo-" she moves her head out of the way, just in time to avoid a punch by one of the tributes. She steps towards the one who had tried to punch her. The girl, she grabs the collar of her wet suit and puts a leg between hers. She sweeps one of the girl's legs up, knocking her off balance and sending her towards the ground. Her fall was accelerated by Maci, who hasn't let go of her. The girl lands awkward on her side and hesitates a moment too long, because Maci manages to wrestle her down onto her stomach.

Maci manages to grab an arm, which she pins awkwardly against the girl's back, she yelps out in pain. But rather than fight Maci off, she struggles to keep her face away from the waves. "Let her go!" Her partner begs. He steps towards her and Maci raises the girls arm up more, making the girl call out in pain from the tension that builds up in her shoulder. "Why should I give her mercy when you two wouldn't do the same to us?" Maci asks. "Don't you dare take another step or I'll break her shoulder!" Maci threatens. Her voice sounds weak and she hopes that the two tributes don't catch onto the fact that she was extremely weak right now.

Lucky swapped from her bow splat weapon to a large roller, it wouldn't kill them, but being run over by it would hurt. Admittedly it looked a little comical, a small Ocotling wielding such a large weapon, but Lucky's face was serious. "Oonay."

Salvadore waved Sorrento and Star over, the five of them booked it into lush green allowing nature to swallow them up.

Phenix felt the waters stir around him, cussing slightly and pushing deeper with every stroke. As he came close to Alana, he shouted, "Grab on," and gestured to his neck. The younger Tribute would be easier to carry than Maci had been, but the water's sudden disturbance was clearly a threat.

T'val stalked carefully around the Cornucopia, her eyes peeled for anybody that might be Narukami. She could hear nearly everything going on around her, every footstep suddenly loud and almost painful in her ears. She knew it was adrenaline, forcing her to overreact to nearly everything.

Alana climbed on to Phenix and held on to him, doing her best not to choke him, she smelled of wet fur and a slight berry scent.

Ariel held on to Sorrento doing her best to be an easy passenger as they bolted through the vines and trees. "How far in are we going?"

"As far as we need to go to get away from all that." Star insisted. "Why? You're stomach acting up again?"

"No, not yet. But we should try to find a water source above anything else."

As the five of them seemed safe from harm, Sorrento clapped his hands again, the second growing sound wave slowly cancelling out the first. He had only wanted to stall for time, not kill. He didn't want any blood on his hands. After checking to make sure that the waters were calming down, he slipped into the forest on the heels of his allies. "I can scout ahead." He called out, hands coming together again, this time allowing an image to come into his mind rather than pushing the sound wave away. It took a while to locate something that could be a body of water and began to lead the way.
There was the sound of sinking sand beside Narukami and on instinct she lashed out, gauntlets sinking deep into someones stomach and she got an armful of blood for her troubles as her opponent stumbled away. "I'm really sorry." She apologized before using her elbow to ram the tributes head into a container, the impact snapping her neck cleanly. Standing over the dead tribute, Narukami suddenly felt her blood run cold as the reality of her actions sunk in. She had killed someone. Took a life. It wasn't like those school yard brawls where her victims would be patched up, that was a girl who wouldn't be getting up ever again. That fact chilled her as she stood there, not noticing someone tackling her to the ground until it was too late and her head cracked painfully against a box, stars bursting in her vision and pain bursting around her abdomen where a knife had stabbed into her. "Get off me!" She roared, yanking her opponents hand away from the knife handle and wresting with him, desperation forcing her to struggle for her life

Feeling Alana lock her hands, Phenix started as fast as he could back to the shore, the water stirring more around the two. As he neared the shore, he realized that there was a steady tension building between Maci and two other Tributes. Reaching shallow water, Phenix stood and started to wade forward, tugging Alana around to his chest so he could carry her more easily. As he neared, he called out. "Back off!" His irises started to flicker yellow, the usual grey vanishing. As the second Tribute turned from Maci to Phenix, they made eye contact. After about five seconds, the poor soul fell to their knees, seemingly horrified by something. After a few moments, they started to scream. Breaking the connection off, Phenix set Alana down on the shore. "Maci, let's go.."

Maci nods. She releases the female tribute, who quickly steps away from Maci and to her partner. The only sign of her being in pain was her discreetly rubbing her shoulder when she thought nobody was looking.
Maci sticks close to Phenix, Alana, and Shiloh?. "Where should we go?" Maci asks.

Zahara felt the male tribute tackle her. No! She thinks desperately. HELP me! Don't KILL me! Just as quickly, she feels arms lift her above the water and hold her close, allowing her to cough up water and breath air. "Sorry about that." The boy says,his voice dazed. Once she is able to breath normally he haves her hold onto him while he swims to shore. Unlike Maci, she doesn't try to help him. They both nearly drown at one point as he struggles to keep both of them above water, but finally they reach land. She releases him from her grasp and his anger returns. But he is too tired to fight her. She kicks his face and he holds his bloodied nose and rolls tiredly onto his back. "That's for almost drowning me!" She growls. "And for saving me... Well, i'll spare your life this time. Ta ta!" She strolls closer to where Echo and Lifei will land on shore.

The group nodded and let Sorrento led the way, Star's eyes flicked about trying to keep an eye out for danger. After maybe ten minutes of walking, they found a path that led to a large mossy cave. On top of the cave was a large tree with its roots exposed a small waterfall connected to a stream that ran through.

Faith looked up at it in wonder, seemingly awestruck. "It's wonderful, if we weren't in a death game one could stay here for a long time."

Alana and Lucky followed behind Maci and Phenix as they ran away from the Cornucpia.

T'val fell upon Narukami's attacker with a sudden and deadly accuracy and aggression, driving her knife into the boy's neck and pulling, yanking him away from her friend. Pulling the knife away, she held out her left hand to help Narukami up. She managed to gasp out, "You got stabbed," giving a slightly irritated look as the boy nearby, who was slowly writhing and holding his neck as blood started to seep into his esophagus.
