Some fairies went under the umbrella, while others just went into
the forest and others went under rocks or just made a magical
barrier over their heads.
Luke falls out of bed. “Meg, did you accidentally invite fairies
into the house?” he asked. He was just realizing he wasn’t actually
on the bed, only the mattress, which was stuck to the wall.
“GRANDPA!” Luke yelled. “FAIRIES STUCK US TO THE WALLS!” he said,
then stopped yelling. “You sure you didn’t open any windows or
anything in your sleep this one time?”
The fairies are outside snickering. They loved to do this when
there was an entrance to the house.
Grandpa comes up the stairs. “Did you do something to the fairies
Meg?” Grandpa asked.
“How close to the door was the umbrella?” Grandpa asked, trying to
untie Meg but unable to because it was magic. He pulled Luke’s
mattress off of the wall because the fairies just taped it there.
“And you didn’t forget to close any of the windows?” he asked,
noticing that there was a tiny crack under the window. He was able
to get the cocoon down from the ceiling but couldn’t cut it open.
It didn’t work. “I think we have to go to Muriel.” and loaded Meg
into a wheelbarrow. Luke got dressed and him, Grandpa, and Dale
started walking out towards where Muriel’s hut was in the woods.
They came to the with. “Stan Sorenson. The person who said they
wouldn’t visit me ever again 13 years ago.” Muriel said. “It takes
a knot to do the magic.” Grandpa said, “I know Muriel. I hereby
server this knot.” he said, then blew on one of the two knots and
it disappeared. Muriel did some magic that made Luke think
everything was distorted, then it stopped and the cocoon was gone.
Dale pushes Meg away, with Grandpa and Luke following behind. “I
need to talk to you and your sister later today. Tell me when she
wakes up.” he said. They reached the house and Luke carried Meg up,
then he fell asleep.
Luke wakes up. “Oh yeah, Grandpa wants to see us Meg.” he said,
then got up. “How are you feeling? Do you remember anything?” he
asked as they walked down the stairs to the study.
