It was hard for Fortem to appreciate the scenery now, at this time
and situation... A shadow passed over his head. A small meteor had
just flown by, reminding Fortem of the ticking clock. There was
only so much time left... his trot quickly became a canter.
Hopefully the others wouldn't take too long; Fortem didn't want to
have to meet whatever was up there with only the three of them...
though he would do his best if he had to. The long hike gave him
lots of time to both reflect and stress.
Fortem took note of the little break area. Even though Lord Tempest
had given them a boost of energy, he was tiring out. It was
inevitable, with two weeks filled with near constant travelling...
"We could take a break, but then we'll have less time..." Fortem
looked up towards the meteor, a constant reminder that they were
running out of it.
Fortem lay down on the grass with the others. Under other
circumstances, spending the day relaxing for a bit here on this
beautiful mountain with his friends would have been nice...
"Yeah..." Fortem nodded. He was relieved to have Azure up here as
well. He got to his paws. "I'm ready to carry on," Fortem stated.
"If you two need a bit longer, we can wait."
“Ran into an odd individual earlier...a Darkrai that calls itself
Alid.” Azure shrugged. “I need a break after that...”
Emerald would cuddle into Fortem and Azure. “Both of you are
soft..!”
"A darkrai...?" Fortem shuddered, remembering Mortis, the darkrai
they'd had to face earlier. "Strange, hopefully that one wasn't the
same as the first darkrai... odd." He smiled, putting a paw over
Emerald and pulling him into a hug as he cuddled up to him. "The
fur gets everywhere though," He joked, trying to lighten the mood
and his mind.
Helda had found it ridiculous that they were taking a break, so had
sped ahead - not so far that she couldn't see them, though. Why
were they enjoying themselves when the end of Luminia was so near?
Shaking her head, she continued up the hill, her eye stinging.
During the battle with the Guzzlord, she had taken a rather nasty
hit to the face, which had, unfortunately, taken her right eye. She
wore a makeshift eyepatch, mostly made of grass and bark, so nobody
could see the injury.
