Mordred approached Ares, confusion all over her expression.
“O-Opal... where did... are you...?” She couldn’t decide what to
address first, just barraging some questions. Her heart and mind
were racing.
"Thank you," Fortem bowed quickly at the Rayquaza. So much at
happened, and he was still try ing to figure it all out... that was
actually a great summary of his life. Drake had dissapeared, they
had to get to the mountain.... and so much more! He stood still
trying to figure out what he should do...
"Thank you, w-we'll do our best," Fortem said. As much as he'd have
liked to say he wasn't scared, he couldn't; that would be a lie.
His heart pounding like a drum beat, he nodded to Emerald and Hiro,
a dire expression on his face. "Let's go."
[All]
“Yeah...let’s do it.” Emerald had his paw over his heart. He looked
at his father. “Take as much time as you need dad...we’ll start..:”
he and Hiro started ascending the mountain
Yung wiped his tears and stood up. “I...dammit...why do I have to
see my friends die...”
Fortem began climbing up. This... this reminded him of the time
they climbed the mountain and Yung was abducted... Worse could
happen now. He swallowed, and tried to shove the thought away, but
his anxiety and stress lingered in his mind. He just kept putting
one paw in front of the other, one at a time.
Fortem thought he heard something... no, it was just in his mind.
The sacred duet, still giving him perseverance now, after it had
been played. He wasn't going to forget it easily. His paws now
matched his heart, pounding on the ground like a drum beat before
war. For Luminia, he thought.
How long had passed? Minutes? An hour? It was hard to tell, but
they seemed to be getting closer and closer to the peak. The
peak of their journey too, He noted. It was all leading up to
this, and he felt that his friends knew it too.
