Thrush blushed at the sudden attention when the two other males turned his way, and busied his attention on creating his own small fire. ”So how are you settling in here?” He asked quietly, sneaking furtive glances when he was sure they weren’t paying too much attention. They weren’t Careers, but he wanted to be on the safe side.

"Not well" Tempest admits. She glances down at the fire Shion created. She tries to create one next to it, copying exactly what she has just watches Shion do.

Ryder decides to annoy some of the other tributes. The closest person to him is Halcyon. He notices that she is working on a core workout. He moves over to her, dragging a finger across her shoulder blades as he walks. He sits down next to her, "You look like you are struggling a bit... Need a spotter?" He asks.

Melody walked towards a simulator of sorts holding a small harp* and looked at it for a moment before stepping inside. A pannel appeared in front of her and she tapped some options before it closed and she stepped up on small pedtistal. The lights dimmed as the simulator began humming as started to generate her enimies. Melody's eyes shifted as her hand tightened on her weapon, the harp strings started glowing a faint magenta in color as her fingers touched the strings.

Suddenly one generated to her right and bolted striaght to her with an axe in hand. She jerked her head and pulled the stings back as if playing it, but a sharp looking beam of magenta energy shot out and destoryed it. Another from her above her to left with a bow and arrows, she turned on heel and destroyed that one as well. A third behind her threw a knife, without missing a beat she dodged and destroyed it. A fifth with a hammer ran towards her, Melody shot that one as well. The sixth with a sword ran above her trying to find an opening, Melody went to shoot but held her aim until she got ahead of it, then let the beam fly as the geretated enemy ran into it. A headshot to one carrying a mace. Melody rolled to the side to avoid an axe flying at her face then shot it in the head. Two shots to one with two swords, one in the shoulder and the other a headshot. The last one tryied to jump her from above with a trident, but she saw it coming and shot it square in the chest as jumped, and it exploded in a bunch of block like things. The simulater wound down as it finished, nine out of nine killed.

Needless to say, this caught everyone's attention, even the gammakers were staring at her. Despite being from only District 3, it was clear that Melody was capable of defending herself.

"Do you want some help?" Shion offered, smiling helpfully. "Oh, when rubbing the sticks together, try and keep even pressure. Don't spin, stop and spin again. Just keep constant and even pressure on the stick." He advised, looking at how Tempest was trying to create her fire. He was so glad that the knowledge he had gained from years of camping out in the grazing fields with his family paid off. Fire building was always his job and he knew the best ways to keep warm on a cold night. Crawling over to Thrush, Shion looked around and found a suitable stick holding it up. "I can show you how to make a fire if you want."

Sitting up with a wheeze, Kardia hobbled up and looked around. The intelligence area was empty as could be and strode over to it. Smirking, she booted up the exercise. The matching game was a piece of cake, as her hands flew across flew over the screen. It was exhilarating, seeing matches and slapping them as she went. The timer buzzed as she completed the game, seeing her score and frowned. Wasn't the top score, but it was good enough to land her pretty high up.

Ryder let out a low whistle. "Looks like I have some work to do" he tells himself as he stands up. He passes by Melody, but grabs her forearm before completely passing. "I say we team up... What do you think?" He asks her, his mouth right next to her ear. "We could do so many great things together" he releases her. Keeping his body turned towards her, he backpedals a few steps and winks at her before trying out the simulator himself. His weapons of choice, four throwing axes and a sword. He isn't nearly as agile as she was nor as graceful. But each attack was strong, he quickly shows to be best at close range attacks, but he can manage long distance attacks if he has the correct timing. Twice he almost gets hit by an arrow. At one point he just manages to deflect a throwing ax by slamming his own ax into it. Nonetheless he killed all nine. "Heh, I still got it" he says to himself, sweat dripping down his face.

"Should we go to the knots next?" Harlow asks Leaf. Both her arms are now covered in the homemade paint, it doesn't look half that bad either. But it's still obvious her skill set is fighting rather than these survival activities

Tempest thanks Shion and does as he advises. After a few minutes the stick breaks. All she really has managed to do was create a little bit of smoke, not nearly enough to start a fire. She sighs. "I'll try this again later" she blinks away tears as she stands up and walks over to the plant matching area. (I forgot I already sent her here... Oops). She decides to see how much she learned. The results come and it turns out, she got an 85%. A smile breaks out across her face. At least she could do something..

Miko looked over to the simulator and sighed. She didn’t really want to fight, she just wanted to be the winner. How could she expect so much of herself when she had such a big boundary? She couldn’t win the games with no kills, it just wasn’t possible. She didn’t even know her power, another obstacle preventing her from winning. What if it was a major game changer, but she didn’t know how to use it? She was a complete mess... She was probably going to be the first to go in the games. Maybe she should try and see what her power is first before she did anything...

Melody flinched whe Ryder caught her arm, it was a bit too tight for her liking. His comment about how they "Could do so many great things together." almost made her want to slap his face.

Leaf nodded. "Sure, it might help us get some food too." They headed over where Flare was still working on knots, this one looked like a type of knot used in a snare to catch game. Alice followed the two becuase she wasn't sure what else to do with herself.

Miko bent down and grabbed the knives she had dropped and placed them in her pockets. Maybe she should try starting a fire, since that was what she had trouble with. She knew her plants, but she used a stove most of the time so she had no need for a fire. She walked over and looked at everyone there. She examined the materials they were using, trying to figure out how they did it.

Blaze had moved from shelter making to editble plants. She knew you could eat danidlions, Rasp/black berries and apples but that was it.

Harlow moves over to make room for Alice. She ends up leaning against Leaf slightly. She hides a smile as she watches Flare work. "Mind explaining what you are doing?" Harlow asks kindly. "We are looking at learning about a smaller trap" she winces. "I don't believe we want to learn about how to catch... People" the thought of catching someone with these made her sickened.

Ryder has a slight swagger in his step as he walks out of the simulator. He walks back up to Melody. "Look, I got a nine out of nine too" he stretches. "It was easy too" he lies "A small princess like yourself needs protecting" (sexist much?)

(it should be okay, I mean you're character was dercting it as another. It's not like you actually did it to another human, if you had there might be some issues-)

Flare looked at Harlow. "It's a basic snare to catch small game, like rabits and squirels."

Melody just glared at him through her wisps of hair that had escaped her high bun. "I'm prefectly capable of defending myself, you might need to watch yourself, your mouth's gonna get you killed."

"My mouth gets me a lot more than that, I'll tell you that" Ryder responds. "I would play nice. I am offering you a chance to work with me... If you aren't with me, you'll be against me. Maybe think my offer over princess" he turns around and sits by Halcyon again. He gives Melody an annoyed side glance before giving Halcyon his full annoying attention

"Oh, perfect then" Harlow kneels down and holds up a rope. "Do you mind showing us?" Harlow peeks over Flare's shoulder to see what her knot looks like.

Melody ignored Ryder's comment and decided to try throwing spears, which she wasn't too bad as long as she didn't have to throw them really far.

Rose takes a shot, she shoots a small target, all the way across the room. She smiles to herself.

Mallory looks at Amy. "What district are you from?" she asks.

Amy looked back at her and paused. “I’m from... District 13.” She replied. She somehow almost forgot her district number. Then again, she forgot a lot of things in her years of living. “What’s yours?”

“You and 2 others!” She smiled. Oh how naive she was... Didn’t she know that these games were a battle to the death? You couldn’t trust anyone, they would have to stab you in the back in the end.

She thought for a moment, trying to remember their names. She decided that she should just point to them. “Her and her,” she said, pointing to Flare and Alice. “Who’s your friend?”
