"Oh my God... Back up north the Shades only appeared once in two months at most and once a year at least. How often do they appear here, every week?"

"We did know what Shades are in the north, but they didn't appear nearly often enough to matter. There used to be quite a nasty creature up north called the Shinger, but my father sealed it in a journal. By the way, does uncle Scriptus still have that journal? It is called the Time-Travel Journal."

"Well, he didn't tell you all about the creature. The Shinger may sound silly, but ir's called that because it does something to its victims that can only be described as shinging."
