Andromeda changes into her wolf form mid step, transitioning
gracefully to a trotting pace. She acknowledged Kat as he looked
behind.” into the ice and snow we go”, she said.
Andromeda shook her fur at the thought of being covered in
snowflakes and moved along behind Kat. She wanted to say something
else, to east the tension, but thought better of it. You’ll just
make things worse,, she thought to herself. Instead, she turns
her thoughts to the Mexican wolf and her diary. She wondered if
they would find any sign of those wolves.
Andromeda shook snowflakes from her face, and observed these new
woods. “ I’ve just thought Of something...how will we find this
flower with all the snow on the ground,” she asked, hesitantly.
Kat nodded his agreement, and continued to look ahead as the snow
fell. He continued on and shivered slightly as his tiger form's fur
wasn't long enough for the snow.
Andromeda noticed Kat shivering, and quickened her pace to match
his,” Hey...would you like to use my human coat? It’s rather large,
I’m sure it would fit your tiger form well...”, she offered,
hesitantly. “ I don’t need it. I have a shaggy coat,” she added.
“ Suit yourself,” Andromeda shurgged, dropping the point for
now. She observed the snowy landscape. Everything had a mounds of
white piled upon it. She noted that she could sense no prey at the
moment. In their dens, waiting out this snow...why didn’t I just
eat the mice?, she thought. She shook her head to remove the
snow that had piled there. “ this stuff is almost beautiful, in
a austere kind of way,” she said.
Kat nodded, and looked at the snow in silence. He then pricked his
ears and saw a white flash of fur rush through the snow as
Andromeda sifted through the white powder. He decided not to give
chase in case Andromeda saw it too.
Andromed’s eyes reacted to the motion, and she shot after the white
rabbit they dashed through the snow. She snatched it up by its
neck, killing it. She looked at Kat, ” I know you saw it
first,”she said, offering him the first pickings from the
catch.
Andromeda walked contently through the snow. The cold didn’t bother
her, annoyed only by the snowflakes blowing into her eyes. A
month of this. I wonder what we’ll encounter along the way...,
she thought. “ Do you think..that maybe those wolves survived?
But just lost the journal at some point,”, she asked Kat, with
little hope.
Kanti was outright playing in the snow. You could hardly see
her through her new gray and white coloring. She went ahead,
prancing and pouncing in the snow.
