Tiger was sitting in class. He handed cyndaquil a sitrus berry,
which would help the Pokemon gain more strength than an Oran berry,
and sat back against his seat. He was distracted by the thoughts of
being judged for what his half brother was. This isn't
fair... Tiger thought to himself, and closed his eyes. I'm
nothing like Snow, but people will think I'm like him just because
we're related...
Mira walked into school and into the classroom, taking a seat. She
looked over to Tiger and gave a soft smile, before looking to the
front of the classroom again.
Tiger opened one eye, and looked over to Mira. He was confused to
why she was smiling. Maybe it's an act... he thought to
himself sharply. He shook the thought away, and sighed. Cyndaquil
glanced at Tiger, and pushed his trainer gently. "Welcome class" a
voice said, and walked into the classroom.
By now, Lauren and co. had returned to the classroom. The three, as
well as their Pokemon, were sitting at three desks right next to
each other. When the voice said, "Welcome class," the three turned
to figure out who said that. Hercules had jumped onto his trainer's
face, so she couldn't see who was talking.
Mira looked to the teacher. I hope he and I can still be
friends... She thought, heaving a sigh, and listened to the
teacher. Dratini coiled around her arm in a little hug.
Mel arrived a few seconds late and threw herself into a chair.
Today had been a long day. She was ready for a nap. She hadn't even
battled, but she could feel the tension oozing from everyone, and
it was enough to make her want to hop out the nearest window and
walk home. Like, to her actual home in Unova. Cottonee floated onto
her lap and settled down, making a soft rumbling sound before
closing her eyes. Mel smiled down at Cottonee. She was lucky to
have her.
The teacher looked like one of the professor's helpers from Johto.
He had thick glasses, and wore a lab coat. "Welcome to class
everyone. I'm Mr. Lee. Today we will be talking about Pokemon
forms" he said kindly. He had an Alolan Raichu next to him.
Tiger blinked, and looked at the Pokemon. He whispered something to
cyndaquil, and the Pokemon nodded.
Ooh, a regional variant! Now we're getting somewhere... She
thought, smiling. If Raichu has a regional variant, I wonder if
any other Kanto pokemon do, too...
"Raichu here is a regional variant...a few Kanto Pokemon have these
does anyone know the others?" Mr Lee asked. Tiger blinked, and
thought for a moment. He had read up on this on his way to
Alola.
"Marowak, Diglette, Dugtrio, and a few others right?" Tiger said
simply. The teacher nodded, and wrote on the board.
"Yes Marowak becomes a ghost, fire Pokemon. While Diglette, and
Dugtrio gain the steel type" he said and wrote more names of Kanto
Pokemon who could have an Alolan varient. In the board he wrote
Sandshrew, Sandslash, Vulpix, Ninetales, Meowth, and Persian.
Something came to mind that Mira remembered seeing on the pamphlets
to go to Alola. She raised her hand. "What about Exeggutor?" She
asked, remembering a suspicious-looking palm tree.
(God, that's the one regional variant I find absolutely hilarious
xD)
The teacher nodded "ah yes Exeggutor gains the dragon typing" he
said kindly. "This however" he said, and finished writing on the
board. He nodded to a Raichu "is an Alolan Raichu. He is an
electric psychic type"
Raichu wove kindly, and smiled. Tiger examined the Pokemon from
where he sat. "Today your assignment will be to find one Alolan
varient and try to capture it. You may use a pokeball, or even just
take a picture of it. There are a few wild Pokemon in the field
nearby that came down from their original areas to help the class"
he said kindly. Raichu nodded, and smiled gleefully. Catch an
Alolan varient...wonder if that'll be hard Tiger thought to
himself simply. Cyndaquil looked ready to get a team member.
Catch a variant? I wonder if I could catch a Meowth... I love
their Kanto form, so their regional variant must be good, too!
Mira thought hopefully, cracking a wide smile.
"Alright go ahead" the instructor said dismissing the class. Tiger
walked out of the classroom quickly. He wasn't going to talk to
anyone for the time being.
Mel stood up, collecting the sleeping Cottonee in her arms and
headed out. She'd always found Vulpix cute, perhaps she'd head off
and try and find one of them? She hadn't received any messages or
calls from her family, so she cradled Cottonee gently as she headed
off. She decided she may as well finish the task asap, stopping by
the nearby Pokémon center to buy a few pokéballs.
Mira took a pokeball from her bag and tossed it in her hand.
"Alright! Let's find a Meowth!" She cheered. Dratini squeaked
enthusiastically as the two ran out of the school. Mira looked at
her pokedex, looking for a location. The entry was still empty.
"Alright... Then let's cross our fingers and hope we come across
one."
Tiger walked into the field, and looked around. He saw some Cubone,
and a couple Pikachu. As he walked through the field. "Who should
we add to the team?" Tiger asked his Cyndaquil kindly. The Pokemon
jumped off his shoulder to look for a Pokemon.
