The trainer initiated battle and let out Horsea from its pokeball. Mira sent out Pikachu. "Pikachu, slam!" Mira called. Pikachu barreled forward and crashed into the Horsea, almost landing in the water, but bounced back just enough to scramble up onto the ledge of the pool. Horsea took that opportunity and used a water gun, pushing Pikachu up the rest of the way.

Tiger went over to the other trainer, and began to battle the trainer. The trainer let out a shellder, and Tiger nodded to Cyndaquil "Cyndaquil let's go. Use swift" Tiger said quickly. Cyndaquil used a swift knocking Shellder backwards.

"Thundershock!" Mira called. Pikachu hit the Horsea with a thundershock and it was electrocuted, falling back into the water. Fainted, the trainer returned the Horsea and sent out Goldeen--the pokemon, upon being let out, used tackle on Pikachu. He skidded backwards.

Shellder used a water gun on Cyndaquil, and caused the pokemon to growl in annoyance. He shook water off his fur, and ignored the loss of HP from the move. Cyndaquil then used a dig jumping underground, and digging toward Shellder.

Pikachu instantly rebounded with a tackle, sending both of the pokemon tumbling into the water. Surprised, Pikachu swam backwards. "O-kay, time out?" Mira called to the other trainer. "Sorry, but I think an electric type on edge in a pool is a pretty bad idea."

The trainer shrugged as Mira got Pikachu out of the water. Now soaked, the pokemon growled at the Goldeen. It laughed and waited. "Alright, go!" Mira called. Pikachu used slam again, with a hit so hard Goldeen skidded through the water and slammed into the wall. Mira winced.

Cyndaquil jumped out of the hole, and missed Shellder. Tiger heard the Goldeen slam into the wall, and looked over. As he was distracted, the Shellder saw his opportunity. It then used a water gun that was strong enough to knock Cyndaquil into the pool. "Cynda! (Tiger!)" he said in shock, and due to being a fire type, he struggled to stay above the water. "Man your pokemon must be weak" the gym trainer laughed. Tiger blinked in shock, and looked at the trainer. "It can't even swim? What's the use of keeping it" he snorted. Tiger shook his head, and jumped into the pool to save Cyndaquil. Misty was watching the fight and glared at the gym trainer angrily.

Mira looked over. "Cyndaquil!"

Pikachu looked over himself and ran down. The Goldeen had fainted from the slam, so the battle was over with anyway. Mira followed. "Pfft. How about I throw your Shellder into a furnace? ...What, it can burn? It's not a fire type? What use is a pokemon like that?" She paused. "THAT IS THE KIND OF LOGIC YOU ARE RUNNING ON."

Tiger climbed out of the pool holding Cyndaquil, and growled. He didn't say anything at all, he just returned his starter, and glanced around. "Mira you can challenge Misty...I'm going to get Cyndaquil looked at" he said lowly. He closed his eyes, and sighed I only need this badge for my rematch with Lance...but maybe it's best if I skip it... he sighed to himself.

"If you're sure..." Mira sighed. "Alright."

Ivysaur jumped off of Mira's shoulder to stand by Pikachu as they approached Misty.

Misty looked at Tiger as he left and gave a final, furious look at the trainer. "Sorry about that. But... You're here to challenge me, right? Well, I won't make it easy on you."

She sent out a Starmie. Ivysaur stepped forward.

Tiger walked back to the pokemon center, and gave Cyndaquil to Nurse Joy. He went to the pc, and contacted Professor Elm. Well...maybe I can figure out more about Jolteon, and if he'll actually be willing to listen to me in battle... he thought to himself.

Mira cracked her knuckles. "Ivysaur, start off with a leech seed!" She called. Ivysaur did so, but Starmie easily ducked out of the way. Starmie countered with a water gun that missed Ivysaur... But did manage to hit Mira.

She gave a sarcastic smile and wiped the water droplets off of her glasses while Ivysaur used a vine whip that hit Starmie backwards.

Elm eventually picked up, "oh Tiger hello" he said slightly distraction. Tiger blinked, and tilted his head.

"Something up?" he asked Professor Elm in concern, but he heard the professor grunt in response.

"Nothing more than a couple of fights in the fields, nothing I can't handle" he sighed. "How's the Kanto journey going?"

"Eh it's going" Tiger responded simply. "Though Cyndaquil was knocked into the pool in Misty's gym by a dumb trainer" he sighed.

Elm sighed "Sorry to hear that. I'm sure he'll be alright. Is there anything you need?" he asked kindly.

Tiger placed Jolteon's pokeball on the transporter "I'd just like to see if you can take a look at Jolt. You see he's a high level, and I wish to know if he'd obey me in battle" he asked. "That and I want to make sure he's healthy" he said kindly.

"Can do" Elm said and transported the pokemon over "Jolt will be back to you by tomorrow. Anything else?" He asked kindly.

Tiger shook his head "nope" he said simply.

Elm nodded "Take care, and don't worry about Cyndaquil to much he's way to tough to get to badly hurt easily" he said kindly, and hung up.

Starmie backed up and suddenly started spinning, dashing forward and tackling Ivysaur. He flew backwards, into the wall, but quickly got up. "You okay?" Mira called down. Ivysaur nodded enthusiastically. "Leech seed!"

This time, the Starmie couldn't avoid the move. Ivysaur got some health back and tackled Starmie in return. When he was just close enough, Starmie used water gun and sent Ivysaur back again.

Without much to do now, Tiger got up, and told Joy he'd be near nugget bridge. He then walked outside, and went back to the tree he was in earlier the day before. He looked around the water, and blinked. Cyndaquil is to tough to get to badly hurt easily Elm's words continued to replay in his mind, but he couldn't stop worrying about Cyndaquil. He sat at the water's edge, and watched as Magikarp swam by.

"Tackle, finish it off!" Mira called. Ivysaur did so and rammed the pokemon, letting it faint. Misty returned Starmie and let out Staryu. Mira could tell it was a bit of a lower level, and started out with a vine whip that sent the Staryu into the water. From there, the Staryu used a water gun that hit Ivysaur. The now soaked pokemon jumped into the water with a tackle. The two went underwater.

"Does this normally happen?" Mira asked Misty.

"With Staryu? Yeah. Staryus usually stay underwater. Ivysaur won't drown, I've made sure he doesn't do that anymore," She assured her.

Mira shrugged and waited. Ivysaur suddenly flew from the water and landed on his side clumsily on the side of the pool. He got up quickly and shook off some of the water still clinging to him.

Tiger was looking at the levels of his pokemon by using his pokedex. "Dusk gained a lot of levels in Lavender, and is close to evolve, and Saffron is my lowest level" he muttered to himself. He was about to train Saffron, and Dusk up more, when he heard a faint scream for help coming from Mount Moon's direction. "What was that?" he muttered to himself.

Ivysaur was low on health, and Mira was about to return him, but he turned and vine whipped the pokeball out of her hand. "Okay, I guess you'll keep going...?" She mumbled. "Leech seed!"

He shot the leech seed. Staryu didn't see it coming and was hit--he jumped out of the water to tackle Ivysaur. The hit would have fainted him, but the leech seed kept him going. While Staryu was out on land, Ivysaur used vine whip to land a cheap hit while he was squirming back into the pool. They were both relatively low on health at this point, and it seemed to be a fair fight.
