"Hello, Stonekit." Rainfeather turned her head more than normal to
see both kits clearly. "I think you guys will make good Warriors
when the time comes. Maybe I could even mentor you." She grinned at
the kits, turning her head forwards again. I love these kits, I really do think they will make good
Warriors. I might as well encourage them. She thought, smiling
to herself.
Bluemist shook her head slightly,
taking a few paw-steps forward. Guess I'm going out myself
then.. She thought, glancing back towards the apprentice den.
If Leopardpaw ever wants to make a good medicine cat, she will
need to answer to her mentor. Shaking her head once again, the
slick she-cat made her way out of camp, heading towards the forest
to find some catmint and a few other herbs she was lacking.
Adderstar looked at Swiftpaw and then at Lilypaw. With a frustrated
sigh (aimed somewhat at Lilypaw and somewhat at the diminishing
fresh-kill pile), he called out, "Swiftpaw, let's go hunting." It
would be his second time this day, with barely a break in the
middle, but the Clan needed food in this hot weather.
"Okay!" Swiftpaw exclaimed, racing out of camp. He didn't know
whether Adderstar was following or not, but he was relieved to be
out of camp and away from Lilypaw.
Seeing Wispkit bound out of the nursery, Rianfeather decided she
had to go out too. "Well, I'll be taking my leave now. I will see
you later." she said to the kits, walking calmly out of the
nursery.
Spotting Adderstar, Rainfeather walked over to him. "Need any help?
I don't really have anything to do right now. Unless you're busy,
of course." She chuckled, then waited for a response.
Adderstar purred. "Perhaps you could go hunting with Swiftpaw and
I," he replied. "The more the merrier." Adderstar noticed Swiftpaw
leave, but didn't want to be rude, so he stayed and waited for an
answer from Rainfeather.
"I'll go ahead and follow you. And that is true, the more the
merrier." She said, and stood up, ready to follow the leader.
(Quite literally, might I add.)
Twistedshadow looked around -everyone has someone to talk to but
me- he thought in his head he nodded and walked off to go hunting
"I should work on my hunting" he sniffed the ari to see if he could
find a scent "Nothing here"
Fernpaw padded of to Rainfeather, her claws unsheathed naturally.
"Can I come?" She meowed to her mentor, giving a quick glance at
their Fresh Kill pile.
LightWing then noticed her brother being skinned alive and went
over to help. She strangled the bird while RiverPaw caught his
breath. "What were you doing back there?" She snapped. He groaned
and started to walk off. His vision became blurry and he blacked
out. "RiverPaw? RiverPaw!" She screeched. She somehow got his limp
body onto her back and sped over to the medicine cat's den.
Adderstar glanced at Swiftpaw apologetically. He padded out of the
camp, sniffing every few feet, knowing that any prey in this
weather was a blessing.
"C'mon Fernpaw, let's go." Rainfeather said, following Adderstar.
She sniffed around every few pawsteps but to no avail. Then she
remarked "Should we split up? It'll be easier since prey is so
scarce."
Adderstar nodded. "Swiftpaw and I will go towards the sun,"
Adderstar flicked his tail to the sun peeking through the trees.
"You and Fernpaw can go away from it."
"Got it." Rainfeather said. "Fernpaw, you've practiced hunting with
me with the freshkill from a few moons ago, right?" she asked,
sniffing around before starting to head away from the sun.
Adderstar crept forward and sniffed over and over, smelling a
mouse. He pounced on it, yet it escaped to its burrow. He cursed
under his breath. "We can't afford to lose prey like this," he
complained.
LightWing bursts into the medicine cat's den. "BlueMist!" She
yelled, stting her younger brother down and ran over to the fresh
kill pile. She dropped the bird and ran over to the medicine cat's
den again. "Is he alright?" She mewed.
Fernpaw followed her mentor. She opened her mouth, tantalizing
scents flowing into her senses. "Yes," the apprentice replied
softly, trying to focus on what she could scent. Fernpaw was rather
bad at hunting; she wasn't very skilled at sensing things. Luckily,
she sensed a bird (or at least, she thought it was a bird) and she
slipped into a Hunters' Crouch, her tail waving in the air.
Quickly, she zipped her tail out of sight.
