Adderstar's eyes showed shock, acceptance, and, for some reason,
admiration at the same time. He nodded quietly and mewed, after a
short time, "As do I."
Adderstar looked at Honeyfeather and touched noses with her. A
feeling that had been locked away inside of him, so deep that he
didn't know it was even there, suddenly had been released, and now
he wanted to relish in the rush of excitement he felt.
Swiftpaw and Lilypaw argued amongst themselves, drifting towards
their mentors. "Adderstar! Honeyfeather!" they both chorused.
"Lilypaw wont leave me alone! Swiftpaw is annoying in general!
Mousebrain! Kittypet!" There was hardly any seperation between each
apprentice's complaints, both talking to their mentors at once.
Tigerflame was very oblivious to what was happening around him he
ahd allways been a bit distractive he yawned and rolled to the
other side of his back facing the camp entarance
(To be honest i compleatley forgot what Tigerflame was doing so if
i have a repost feel free to comment it again xD if not he is as
open as a broken window )
The brown tabby tom sighed and murmured, "I'm sorry I didn't
realize it before... I feel as though I've loved you for a very
long time, but I neglected to notice it." He froze when he noticed
Swiftpaw and Lilypaw nearby, and his ear-tips flushed with warmth.
Not knowing what to say, he looked at Swiftpaw and meowed sternly,
"Don't you know that talking back to someone who's teasing you
isn't any better than the actual teasing? Ignore her if she isn't
leaving you alone."
(Also, anyone think Adderstar and Honeyfeather is
kinda... reminiscent of someone? Not gonna spoil who for people who
haven't gotten to that part in the series. uwu -.o o.- < That is
supposed to be someone winking.)
"Kittypet," Lilypaw muttered only loud enough for Swiftpaw to hear.
"Foxbreath," he finally retorted. "Can I go hunting by myself?" he
asked.
"Can I go too?"
"I said by myself!"
"Swiftpaw, you may go alone. Lilypaw, you can stay in and clean off
Coalfoot's ticks." Although he believed it was unfair for Lilypaw,
since she obviously couldn't go with Swiftpaw (and he didn't want
Honeyfeather to leave awkwardly right after her confession), it
seemed to be the only sensible choice.
"Aww!" Lilypaw exclaimed. A small part of her claimed she deserved
it for teasing Swiftpaaw so much and she didn't bother mentally
denying it as she padded away.
Swiftpaw hurried out of camp, heading into a wooded part of
territory. Stupid drought. Almost as soon as the though
passed his mind, a stray chirp caught his attention. A surprisingly
plump thrush way perched directly over his head. He silently
scrambled up the tree and slunk across the branch above the
oblivious bird. Directly over it, as tree hunting was one of his
good skills, he rustled a branch and the bird flew up in surprise,
allowing the lean apprentice to grab it in his jaws where it
fluttered briefly and went limp. He lept out of the tree and
covered it. Maybe I'll be lucky he thought, conyinuing to
search for prey.
(Your characters are eight moons old right now so they've got a
ways to go unless we deliberately timeskip several moons, but that
needs the whole group's OK.)
Adderstar nodded. "Speaking of apprentices, there's something I've
needed to do for a few days now..." he muttered, and left
Honeyfeather to stand on the gathering rock. "All cats old enough
to catch their own prey gather here beneath the gathering rock for
a meeting!" His voice was loud enough for most of the cats in camp
to hear, though that was about it.
"Wispkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for
you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your
warrior name, you will be known as Wisppaw. Your mentor will be
Moonpelt. I hope he can pass all he knows down to you." Adderstar
inhaled and looked at Moonpelt now. "Moonpelt, you are ready to
take on an apprentice. You will be the mentor of Wisppaw, and I
expect you to pass down all you know to her."
