leaf's rustled near the edge and both scar and dagger appeared, looking a bit shocked.
''uh... bad timing.......?'' they both asked and white-fang nodded.
''bad timing...'' he grumbled and they both disappeared out of the grotto.
"When I had both you and Storm, I suppose I passed out due to the loss of blood. I guess Adder freaked out and tossed me in the river. Then the pack moved. Simple story, really." Amber sighed. "Why won't you come back now?" Echo replied in a hushed voice. "I can't bring myself to it." Her mother said. "Just come back now, then." The ebony insisted. "I don't know." Amber grunted.

"So how are you and Storm doing?" Amber asked.
"Well, Storm fell in love with Cinder but she denied him, so he went off with Cinder's older sister, Lily. I, personally, think that Lily is better than Cinder. Lily's humorous, open, and easy. There as Cinder is way too shy. Oh, did I mention that Storm is shy, too?" Echo replied. "How's your father?" Amber asked.
Echo's ears pinned back, and she wished that that question didn't hang above them.
But it always would.
It probably soothed Amber, there as that subject gave Echo nightmares. "Cruel. Cold. Stupid." She grumbled. "One third of that sounds normal. I'll need some description on this new ''cruel-cold'' subject." She solemnly glanced at Echo, mentally pulling the information off her. Echo thought she was the only one who could do that.
"When we became trainees, he knocked our paws off with work and forced us to sleep outside of the Alpha's Den. We weren't aloud to go into the trainees' den, either." She murmured, the memories flooding freshly back to her. Pain. Torture. She hated it.
It was like she was reliving it.
Echo felt the warmth of her mother's side pressed against her, although her face was hard. "I guess the wolves in my blood don't have good luck with their parents." She whispered softly.
The familiar era of the wolves filled Amber's nose. After so many moons, it still came to her naturally and soothingly. It didn't slam at her, but is sort of... drifted into her senses. Amber's tail flicked amusingly as she gazed over the new camp. Rocky, the Beta, came over to Echo. He wasn't much different, except the coldness in his eyes had minimized.
"Hello, Rocky. Where's Adder?" Amber asked.
"Wait, your--I mean, you... In the Alphas' Cave." The Beta whispered, bewildered.
"Thank you." Amber replied, and padded towards the only cave in the open-spaced grotto. It seemed hollow and lived in by only the cold winter air.
Amber stealthily crept into the cave, sitting next to Adder. He was staring at the wall like he always did when he thought. Echo watched in amusement, just to see Adder's reaction. Her tail entwined with his, and Adder was jetted out of thinking world.
"Amber!" He gasped.
"Yes?"
"Your... alive?"
"Well, I'm sitting right here, aren't I?"
Echo chuckled, and padded away from the Alphas' Cave. She'd seen enough to satisfy herself.

"Stop standing there like an idiot, Storm. Isn't that a miracle?" She chirped, with a brush of her nose at his cheek. He shrugged. "I-i... I don't really know what to think of my mother. Whether I should be happy or enraged or..." He sighed, with nothing else left to say. "Well here's my words of advice: don't claw her tail off when you meet her." The she-wolf suggested.
