scar snickered a little.
''you actually deserve better in my opinion echo, white-fang's been
to on edge lately, and i'm pretty sure that having his own pup's
around would just put him more on edge... and cause you to be in
serious danger'' he said.
"I would never be endangered by White-fang," Echo responded.
"I'm stronger than him. He's just so unstable, Scar..." she sighed
and shook her head. "Anyways, how is you and Dagger going?" She
asked, attempting to change the subject.
''their in the pup den, resting for now until the journey..'' scar
mumbled.
glimmer slightly limped in and sat down near the wall, leaning
against the cool stone.
''stupid savage pack causing us pup mother's to go through a secret
tunnel.. think i might have twisted my paw just from trying to
crawl through..'' she grumbled in irritation.
''hey glimmer'' scar said.
she gave a small nod to scar in reply and just rested her head down
on the ground.
"White-fang," Thorn whispered quietly to his mentor, bent under a
bush. "Shh," Jinx whispered to her brother, her eyes on the young
deer in front of them. Thorn had demanded they stick together as
trainees, so they had the same guide. Thorn hating hunting, even if
they just starting learning how to do it. Too much waiting and
silence. Thorn's ears pinned back, about to speak. Jinx's tail
flicked onto his mouth, and with an annoyed look her silenced,
waiting for White-fang to tell them to pounce.
''thorn, you go around to the left... jinx, you go around to the
right.... try to take it by surprise......'' white-fang whispered
to them both.
he had faith in the pup's hunting, and knew that they would do just
fine with the hunt.
The twin pups nodded in sync, Jinx's paws mutely making their way
towards her prey. Don't destroy our chance, the trainee
thought, gingerly creeping up towards the graceful creature ahead
of them. She shot a look at Thorn, whom had quickly looked back at
White-fang. His ears pinned back as he attempted to corner the
deer, less smoothly and slower than Jinx. He's trying, Jinx
thought warmly, focusing on the prey ahead of her. Thorn crept up
by the left, the deer's ears perking as its head rose from the
ground. Thorn leaped out at the fawn baby, knocking it over to the
side. Jinx sunk her teeth in its neck, ending the deer hunt. Thorn
leaped off of it giddily, his tail wagging.
white-fang climbed out from under the bush and shook his thick coat
out, grinning a little as he walked over.
''i'm rather impressed, both of you're hunting skill's have
improved, along with you're hunting strategies... and you followed
my instruction's to work as a team while hunting perfectly, who
know's, you might become expert hunter's in no time without my
help!'' he said cheerfully, seeming more mellow then before.
he nudged the fawn's head over a little and inspected where jinx
had bit the fawn's windpipe.
''you've got a pretty strong bite jinx, and you've got some
strength when it come's to knocking young prey over'' he said.
he thought for a minute and chuckled.
''i'v actually heard of a legend about a she-wold who could
surprise her prey with extreme speed somewhere in the world'' he
said, knowing that the trainee's would end up becoming curious.
(Story time~)
Jinx was silent, but showed interest in the legend--it was all in
her eyes. Thorn, on the other hand, excitedly perked up. "Who?
Where? That can't be all of the legend, right?" He asked quickly.
He's so much more talkative than me, Jinx remarked in her
head.
''calm down thorn, just relax and i'll tell ya the legend'' he
said, stretching out and nudging the limp fawn corpse over a
little. such eager trainee to actually want to hear a legend he
thought in amusement.
''this she-wolf could easily take down a full grown deer with one
swift sneak attack, which gave her the name swift, she's a lone
wolf who's been through pack after pack, but still preferring to be
a lone wolf with a friend of her's... and ever since then, she's
been traveling through the wood's and the plain's out where the
hunter's live, roaming, using her skill to help feed her and her
friend'' white-fang said.
(No crossovers
I'm bad with crossovers
Pfft they're in different dimensions right?)
"Our mother had never told us legends like that," Jinx said. "She
believed that stories were merely a work of fiction and made us
stray from reality," the young wolf said hollowly. "She said
stories were a waste of time," Thorn added. Jinx just shrugged, "I
guess they are. But it's a good way to entertain."
Thorn nudged the limp corpse with his paw. "That won't be as fresh
if we stay here until Sun down," Jinx said softly, pawing the
corpse. "It's a nice legend, though."
(pfft, wasn't planning on doing a crossover, plus i never said that
the wolf's friend was a male or female... lol)
white-fang stood up and looked at them.
''legend's are real pup's... never think of them as just fictional
stories.. and they are never a waste of time.... besides, my father
used to be a hunting legend himself, but that tale is for another
time'' he said, picking up the limp corpse and setting it up on his
back.
"Legends? If they are legends, then surely they are just an aspect
of mythology. What about the legend of the Golden Squirrel?" Jinx
replied, almost calmly. "Jinx," Thorn said, almost firmly, but not
quite. She could be fierce when she got into something. "Sorry,"
the she-pup murmured, her ears pinning back. "Jinx, look..." her
brother murmured, softer. He was always on alert whenever she got
into an argument. Jinx could hurt when she meant it. "Brother,
please. Can we go back to camp silently?" She muttered in his ear.
He just sighed, his ears swiveling as they continued.
''legends, dear pup's.. they are true, never for get that... and
that golden squirrel is more of a myth then a legend''
white-fang pointed out.
he thought for a moment and looked down at them.
''come on, we better head back to the camp'' he said.
