dagger smiled.
''hello storm'' she said, more upbeat then a few week's ago.
her eye's seemed brighter, her mood was more kinder this morning,
even her fur that was usually tangled with burr's and stick's was
all groomed out.
''so! how was you and echo's first night in the trainee den?'' she
asked.
"Warm." Storm admitted. "When we became trainees', Adder left us
out of the Alphas' Den, so we just huddled up by a bush. The
winters were... Cold." He added.
(lol the little fairies don't have a clue on how to raise the
little princess in melificent XD)
''well that seem's harsh'' dagger said.
white-fang stretched and yawned, feeling a lot calmer now then
before.
he looked over and seen that echo must had rolled over in her sleep
after storm left the den because she was leaning up against his
side fast asleep.
he chuckled and licked the side of her muzzle gently and rested his
head on her shoulder's sighing.
Storm shrugged. "We dealt with it. Echo gets nightmares, so she--"
He turned to Echo, who was moving around non-stop. "Moves in her
sleep..." He added, trailing off. His sister jetted awake, in alarm
with her ears perked. She was growling, and accidentally stepped on
White-fang's tail. "Yeah. I had to live with that." Storm
sighed, and Echo began to calm down, apologizing to White-fang.
white-fang groomed his tail fur down so he didn't look like a
complete idiot and sighed.
''you're fine echo.... it was an accident'' he said with a small
smile.
dagger snickered and seen scar walking out of the den.
''hey scar'' dagger said kindly and licked his cheek when he sat
down next to her.
''hey dagger, hey storm'' scar said to both of them in turn.
"Morning." Storm replied. Cinder padded out of the trainees' den,
and sat next to Storm. "O-oh... Hi." She said quietly to the group.
Storm grew warm. "Oh... Urm... H-hi Cinder."
dagger and scar looked at each other then back at storm and cinder,
their eye's gleaming with amusement.
''hello cinder'' they said in sync.
they both grinned then dodded at them.
''we'll leave you two alone, me and scar are going to go talk for a
bit'' dagger practically giggled and bounded off.
scar chuckled and winked at storm, then ran after dagger.
Echo padded out of the trainees' den, but quickly trudged out of
Storm and Cinder's way. Picking up pace, she was now next to
Dagger. "Morning Dagger, Morning Scar."
'''morning echo'' they said at the same time.
they were both leaning against each other once they were near the
edge of camp.
''your brother and cinder are so cute together!'' dagger
giggled.
''yeah, they are cute together'' scar confirmed with a small nod of
his head.
"Aren't they just?" Echo cooed. Her mind went spinning as she
remembered what her father had said, though. "Adder doesn't want me
and White-fang together because of what it will do to our
heritage... He wants me with Steel." She blurted out. Oops.
scar just sat there, knowing it was more dagger's place to talk to
her then him, so he nudged dagger's muzzle and headed for a pond
nearby.
''how come your father doesn't want you with white-fang?!'' she
asked, which sounded more like a demand then a question.
then her eye's blazed in anger.
''and you know steel is just a thick headed he-wolf!! to stubborn
to even think, and he already has his eye's on one of rubies
pup's...'' she muttered then flinched, knowing she gave away
steel's secret.
She stared at Dagger hollowly. "My father cares about what it will
do to our family's name. This matters because he's going to make
one of his heritage (Me or Storm) the alpha when he retires. Its
not like he's changed my mind, Dagger. Adder's words mean nothing
to me." She muttered, her eyes flaring ruefully. "Besides, its
something that I should deal with myself." She added quickly.
Rising to her paws, Echo shook out her fur and padded away.
dagger didn't want to bother echo anymore so she went over to scar
and muttered something to him in his ear, then walked off toward's
the hidden grotto dagger and him hang out in.
scar's tail wagged and he ran after her, his ear's perked up.
white-fang walked out of the den and went to the small pond,
lapping up the cold water.
teal walked over and chuckled.
''hello white-fang'' she said and he acted like it didn't faze him
much.
''hello teal...'' he grumbled and sat down.
she grinned and leaned against him sighing.
''your acting just like your father, immature... and i'm sick of it
teal.... so my way of getting you to flipping realize i don't like
you would be to do this!'' he barked and didn't even think, he
swiped his huge front fore-paw into the center of her back, making
sure he didn't paralize her and sent teal flying into the pond,
yelping like crazy.
when steel came running over to try and help his sister out of the
pond, white-fang whacked steel's hind-quareter's and steel tumbled
into the pond with a surprised yelp.
''think twice before messing with me or my friend's!'' he snarled
and walked off, out of the pack and down to the lake.
teal and steel both swam to the pond's edge coughing up water.
Denied. Rejected. Storm would like to say that, but in his
situation that wasn't quite the word for it. Dumped wouldn't be it
either, since he and Cinder had never been... together. Maybe he
just stretched his limits to far. Maybe he'd just scared the poor
trainee into hiding. Whatever happened, Storm wanted to fix it.
Perhaps they hadn't been close enough for him to lap her on the
cheek and get away with it. Maybe that was why she yelped. When his
paws finally stopped running from the shock, he nearly collapsed in
the slippery mud that reached up to his paws. Storm wanted to dunk
his head into the roars of the reckless water and half-drown
himself, but he restrained the thought.
Storm lay in the mushy mud of the river. "I'm fine," He insisted,
but his eyes didn't quite say so. Knowing he was a terrible liar
(Echo had told him,) he knew he couldn't lie to White-fang.
Glancing up to the white-furred trainee, she sighed. "You're lucky
you have a chance with my sister, you know? She's rather stubborn.
I'm glad it was you she chose, though," He muttered.
white-fang chuckled.
''and you have a chance with cinder.... she's just.. very shy, just
like you are... at least around each other'' he said looking at
him.
his eye's were sparking with amusement.
''if you would just talk to her.... maybe you both could be more
calmer around each other'' he said.
