Charlotte furrowed her brows in surprise as Iteral's strings seemed to glitch for a moment before settling back into place. She decided not to comment on it, as she didn't want to be relegated to 'fortune teller' status.

"Iteral, what-- uhhh... Lovely night, isn't it?" Words. What were words??? They were failing her. Charlotte was officially incapable of socializing.

"No," Charlotte responded. "I'm not exactly known for having great hearing... what is it?"

Charlotte wobbled on the brooom. "How do you do this all the time? Doesn't feel very safe to me."

Charlotte picked herself up from the roof, brushing off dust and using her handkerchief to wipe any stray tears off of her face. She turned to Iteral.

"Shall we go, then?" She flashed a smile she didn't feel, "Even if it's too late tonight, we can still use these later," she said, gesturing to the bag of food supplies.

Charlotte shrugged, feeling a bit hollowed out. "Dunno. Born with them, I guess. It's like I've got Fate whispering in my ear all the time, would not recommend."

'Whats this? she wonders at the clock in her lap. "Iteral, what--"

Charlotte was startled out of crying by a... Kendo? Maybe? But... he wasn't back yet.

So maybe a different one.

She made a desperate dash at the tears on her face while he wasn't paying attention to her, and hoped he hadn't seen her upset. How embarrassing! And now Iteral was here, too.

Title: Oops, it Got Real (my bad) (I.e. Charlotte has issues, too)

Charlotte was making her way back to the Parrot. A young girl, not more than a few years behind herself, bumped into her, shrieking in delight as her friends chased her around the street, trying to get back whatever was in her hand. She felt a pang in her chest as she ended up (unwillingly) reflected on these strangers' friendship and the differences from her own life.

It was during this reflection that the movement of her fate string connected to Iteral caught her eyes. It seemed like she was talking with the Angel. 'they're probably having a much better time without me there...

The thought had been thunk before she'd had a chance to think about thunking it. Before she knew it, Charlotte was retreating from the road and into a hidden spot in the curvature of the roof of a nearby building. A cloud seemed to descend over her as she spiraled from one thought to the next, a dizzying descent into self-criticism and fear. She stopped short as she felt tears soak into the fabric in her pants, and attempted to cut the breakdown short. However, one 'See? You're weak! And perfectly useless, too busy crying to even bring food home for some of your teammates.' was enough to send her spiraling again.

Charlotte hugged her knees closer to her chest and willed herself to stifle the tears, just in case someone found her and saw, but how could she when she knew no one would be looking for her? When she was convinced her acquaintances were plotting to ditch her as soon as possible, or even worse?

Time became blurry, like trying to see underwater.

Charlotte nodded quickly, slinging her bag over a shoulder. "I'll go to the market to get some things, then. Be back within... an hour. If I'm not back by then, something's probably gone wrong, although I don't expect you'd save me. Adiós!"

Charlotte waited until Kendo was gone. "Uhh, Angel lady, ma'am, whatever... I can cook. If we need someone to do that, that is."

Yikes, Char. Bad move. She banged her forehead with a fist. Eloquent speech is good. Muttering and a weak tone is not good. Very bad. The Angel doesn't need another reason to kill you.

She drew herself up. "I can cook, unless you'd rather have someone else do it. What do we have available?"

"...he's not," she spoke up, clenching her hands together, "He won't go over to Legion. The only connections he has with them are bad. Awful, even. Why would he support someone who's only going to hurt him?"

Charlotte huffed from her corner--she could've told the Angel all of that! She didn't even need to spend all day in reconnaissance when she had one of the most modern well-traveled people for leagues right here at her disposal! And Wildana wasn't that dirty! It'd been one of the few places where she didn't feel quite as discordant with everyone else around her during her stays.

As for the Saint business, we'll, Charlotte had her own thoughts on that. She wouldn't say anything, though, as it (probably) wasn't going to go disastrously tonight. She squinted at Kendo's connection with the Saint just to make sure. Well, that did it. She couldn't tell, and the thread was whispering to her in Latin which she did not understand.

Charlotte edged toward the corner of the room as soon as the Angel appeared. Out of habit, a hand went to the hilt of her dagger. If she could, she would have just left the room, but it would only draw more attention. She stroked her braid nervously, tracing the weaving patterns with her fingers.

She nearly jumped out of her skin when Kendo reappeared, her concentration completely pinpointed on the Angel.

"...Yue? Please calm down, you're no use to your kindom if you're panicking." Charlotte said, starting to panic a bit herself. She wasn't always good at dealing with others' emotions, although she always tried her best.

"Thank you, please hurry, they're getting closer."

Charlotte climbed up the wall, scrabbling for the window frame and hauling herself into the room.

"Y'all, we need to head inside, someone's going to see us and get suspicious and rat us out if we don't hurry," Charlotte urged. She felt Fate pushing at her, trying to get them to move, move, move!

"Sorry what?! Y'know what? Forget it. Race over. We need to get inside first before we deal with this, we've been out and exposed a little too long for my liking."

"Okay, geez. Sorry for having a personality for once, god."

"This is the window," Charlotte began speaking in a robotic voice, "As you can see, it is open and available for multiple humanoids and others to enter through. Iteral, would you please begin transferring the units up to the window."

"Of course I got the room, don't worry about it! And even if someone did see me and recognized me despite permanently dying my hair, they wouldn't think I'm with you guys. Im reputed as more of a lone wolf. C'mon, let's go!" Charlotte said excitedly.

"I cannot wait to see Parfait--that's my favorite of the parrots--again! It'll be very happy to see me, I'm sure. And don't worry, they all grow on you after a while."

Charlotte, true to her word, finished the task in record time, thankfully seeing no one she knew--though she did keep a hand on the hilt of her dagger the whole time.

She climbed out the window and sprinted around to the alley through a different path, and snuck up behind the group. "Hey," she whispered.
