I'm pretty sure she's gonna be a catalyst user but I won't mind a polearm, sword user either.

The wishes are screwing with me. Of my 57 pulls for Xiao, I got:
2x Ningguang (a single 10-pull away from each other, now C5)
2x Chongun (in the same pull, also C5 now)
2x Yun Jin (which is hilarious, because the other banners so far have always refused to give me the new accompanying 4*, but I think I kinda like this lady. She seems fun)
2x Farvonius Lance (My unused Xiangling now has a hefty R5 spear she doesn't use)
...
Which is great luck for the 4 stars, except I pulled a few extra times on the Albedo banner without meaning and racked up an additional three 4* weapons. Which means I should be around pull 90 if I understand the wish system right, and still no 5 star. Good grief, I hope I get Xiao with the fates the events are supposed to give us.

Has anyone checked their teapots recently? You can now buy an item that lets you change the ambient music. There's also the new co-op boards for races and such.
If anyone needs helping finding something or getting to something in the new area, let me know. If in American servers, I can hop over to show you where/how to get (my account on the European servers still needs to watch a dragon fall from the sky and is absolutely useless right now). If not, I apologize if the pictures I take may be slightly off.

Yay! new area!! Those are always hype. Explored the first 2 islands today will continue with the rest tomorrow. Really liking it so far. The new music is boppin as always. Has anyone tried to catch the flying ray fish? I only encountered one and scared it away before I could try aah, It would be so cool if we could add them to our teapots.
Yun Jin's VA really sold Yun to me. Like whoa I love her voice so much. I play with en audio btw xD
Her animations are so cool too with her dance moves. I'll have to pick her up from the lantern rite 4* invite thing as I am not rolling in any banners until Ganyu.
Yanfei reached friendship level 10 today 💖
I'll miss having her on my daily commission team ;-;

I'll steal your Itto gladly lol. I was so sad I couldn't pull for him due to saving my gauranteed 5* slot. I feel such envy each time I see him in co-op he seems really fun.

The new islands have a fun new mechanism that took me a little to get used to, although I hope that MHY adds a small QoL feature that lets us skip the cutscene every time it's used. It's not long, not by any means of the word, but it does get repetitive and something of an eye sore.
As for catching the manta way... I don't think you can? Or, at least, it might take multiple nets? I hit it with one, and got three energy particles from it and it 'rushed away' without fading until a small time later.

also,, gross,, why are there rifthounds in wolvendom 😕 they need to stay on that dang island i dont want those in mondstat !!
i did pull on the banner bcuz i wanted ningguang or yunjin, and i got ningguang so im happy :) I'll pick yunjin when that free 4 star event comes around
also i got albedo to friendship 10 last night, his name card is very pretty :)

Sad to hear about the nets not working on the rays, maybe in an update in the future ;-;
clown is right, I fought a group of rifthounds in mondstat today on my way to Andrius from the cecelia garden domain. They were added with this new update. I think it's only the whelps though, so no adult rifthounds atleast.
Personally I think it's a good addition. We needed more locations for them to make material farming easier/faster, other enemy types had way more areas/spawns than the rifthounds did.
Upon learning Yun Jin needs the golden wolf boss mats I am devastated. That boss is so hard. I was hoping I would never have to fight it again after my initial fight. I really do want to build her when I get her though so guess I just gotta get good.

Hey, Guri? You play on an American server? If so, I don't mind helping you fight the boss. I only fought him the once because I don't see a need to stockpile ascension materials I actively have no use for and was curious about the fight. The Wolflord isn't too hard to fight if you take it slow and keep a Geo character and a Bow user in your party. (I haven't tried this solo with the Gorou since I got him just yesterday, but I'll let build him up and see how it goes.)
Use the Bow to attack the Wolflord in the air, and use Geo attacks when he shields. Otherwise, you can 'dash through' his beam attack to avoid getting hit, and the tornado can be outrun if you're using a tall character or Sayu's roll. The hardest part is predicting where he's going to slide to next, getting hit, and then having the wolflord spawn his tornado right on top of you.
(I might be a little salty about that last one. I lost to him like, eight times due to that before I figured out his pattern.)

I play on europe server sadly, thank you for the tips though! I think, the main reason why it was so hard for me is because I didn't have any built geo characters. Maybe it'll be easier now that I have Gorou at lvl 70. I've also only fought him once just to try the boss out.

Idk I kinda main those two. And I quite like them as is.
As for raiden I heard all characters are getting censored soon. So like she cant really pull a sword out of clothes and thus will be getting an animation change.
