Mare turned at the sound of someone hacking out there lungs. She bits her lip, unsure if she should go over or not. Her pale skin looks even more ghostly then usual in the "strange" lighting of the train car. She turns back to Rita. "Do you know how this works?" she asks tentatively. "The whole games thing I mean."

A voice filled Jacovin's ears, asking him something. 'Are you okay?' Trying to catch his breath, Jacovin hacked out a few syllables, although they were almost impossible to piece together into a word or sentence. After a moment, the coughing stopped, and Jacovin slumped. He was gasping, his right arm now limp at his side. His left, however, was still pinned firmly against his belly. After a few moments, Jacovin croaked out a single word: "Water..?" He almost seemed to be questioning the existence of such a thing, a thing with the name of 'water.' His right arm rose, then wiped away a bit of frothy saliva that had accumulated at the edges of his lips.

That word was quite new to her, giving her a hard time understanding his response. After a little thinking, she decided that it meant he didn’t really care about what he ate. It stung how simple someone’s choice in food could be. She continued staring at the plate on the table across from her, lost in thought by this point. “Oh... Well... is meat any good...? I’ve seen my parents eat it...” she let out a sigh as soon as she realized what she said, it was probably too revealing. Like she said before, it didn’t matter anyways...

Lesia wolfed down the curry like a kid eating jelly beans, this was amazing. As soon as she finished she looked over at Ellie with gleaming eyes and a big smile, her way of telling her she enjoyed it. That smile soon faded once she heard something having a coughing fit, immediately concerned. She quickly got up and went over to him, but as soon as she heard him ask for water, she turned around and got a glass off a nearby table

Bella carefully helped him sit up as Coraline went with Lesia to get the water. Ellie just watched the whole thing in shock.

This shocked Akiro a bit, he knew things were bad for a lot of people these days, but why would your parents eat something so...hard to get right in front of you and deny you any? Connecting that with the other things that Rui had said, he realized that it made a very grim sense why she had said that. "Meat's preety good." What else was he supposed to say? "Ashley never could afford meat that much, so we didn't eat it that often. Before..." he choked on his words, a suprising amout of emotion showing talking about her. They mutually hated eachother, but deep down Akiro knew that he wished she was different. "Before I was born, they could afford those kinds of things."Getting more akward by the minute, he thought dryly. She either thinks I'm crazy most likely, or that I'm in a mood swing."

Jacovin watched as a glass of water was introduced to his view. Focusing on it, he reached his good hand out to grab it, then lifted it to his lips. After a few moments, he set the empty glass down. His breath was still a bit rapid, though Jacovin was slowly getting it under control. Looking up, he noticed all the eyes on him. His quiet voice croaked out a sentence, slow and powerful. "I apologize for making anybody worry."

Coraline waved off Jacovin's worry with a simple "It's okay."

Bella tilted her head to the side. "Are you sick? Maybe the Capital can cure you."

A worried look was still plastered to Ellie's face. "I don't know, that sounded pretty bad. . ."

Jacovin gained a dark aspect in his eyes when Bella mentioned the Capital and a potential cure to his ailment. "I assure you, it's nothing. I'm perfectly fine for the time being." His voice had become quick, as well as a slight pitch lower. Clearing his throat, he stood carefully, then glanced around. Something suddenly didn't feel right to him, he just wasn't sure what. As if another set of eyes were watching him. Shaking off the ominous feeling, he turned his attention back to the few around him.

Lesia decided to simply stand back and not say anything, let him recover. She was highly concerned with his condition, but if he said it was fine then she had to trust him, right. She grabbed the glass off the ground and sat it on the table she got it from, then walked back to her seat.

“Really...?” It shouldn’t have shocked her that he liked meat too, almost everyone she knew had liked it. The more she heard about his family, the more she felt bad about him. She didn’t care if he started crying, there wasn’t any reason for him not to. Even she could tell that he wanted a different situation. “Was your dad nice...?” She asked, unsure if the question was appropriate to ask

"I..I don't know. He died right before I was born." Akiro liked to think that his father was nice. When he was little, he remembered a dream he once had, running through a feild with his father. His father seemed so nice and loving in his dream, the complete oppisite of his mother. But then again, that could just be him hoping. It wasn't like it mattered anyways, he was dead and Akiro could be dead soon as well. He was holding back tears at this point, while Rui might not care if he cried, he certainly did. That was a weakness he could not afford if he was walking out of here alive.

A shiver ran down Jacovin's spine. He was sure there was an extra set of eyes now. The kind of eyes that watched until the right moment. The kind of eyes you felt when you knew there was a large predator nearby. Glancing around again, Jacovin started towards the little alcove he'd claimed. Suddenly, being out in the open didn't feel like a good idea.

-=-

Unbeknownst to Jacovin and likely the rest of the train car, Jacovin's hunch of extra eyes was correct. Chelsea was sitting in a darkened alcove, a pair of glasses sitting low on her nose. In one hand, she held a book. The other hand was allowing her to rest her head, watching the scene from earlier play out. The glasses weren't needed unless Chelsea did want to read. And for once, she did. Usually, she would be trotting around in the dark, trying to look vulnerable so she could get in a fight. But this was no time for that. No no, she didn't want to look like the bad guy here. Not yet, at least. Watching Jacovin retreat, she snickered to herself. He might be an easy target. He was also fairly tiny. Chelsea found her mind wandering, wondering about how many ways she could wrap the boy around her pinkie before crushing him. Shaking her head slowly, she looked back down to the book.

“Oh... sorry...” once again, she regretted asking a question. So his mother had been without her husband for quite some time... But did it really excuse her actions, if Akiro was being honest? Well, since the conversation had been inching towards the topic anyways, she decided to finally bring it up. “You said something about abilities... do you have one?” She cautiously asked, knowing this might be a sensitive topic as well.

Akiro nodded. "I do have an ability." He had never been completley open about it, since it was half the reason that a good amount of his childhood he was hurting in some way. Akiro hesitated to explain it, but figured that he was 16, not 11, and that he should be able to do something as simple as a demonstration. Glancing at the Peacekeepers, he extended his hand. The fork he had discarded earlier rattled and began to float, and he telepathically lifted it into the air, bringing it close enough that he was able to grab it. "Telekenisis. I can lift certain things using my mind." He didn't go into much detail, prefering to keep the specifics a secret since he knew he wasn't alone on the train.

She watched in awe as Akiro demonstrated, almost fascinated with what he was doing. She never got to see many cool things like this, so she enjoyed it while it lasted. “Woah...” she said quietly. Once he stopped, she looked at the fork for a bit before pursing her lips, like she was trying to make a decision. “I...” she stopped and turned her arm over so the gash was facing towards the two. At first, it seemed like nothing was happening, but then a blob-like slab of flesh near the wound lifted itself up and hovered over it, then flattened itself and began to mend to the skin around it. It was like the roof of a convertible, but a little more... gross. The very small task wore her out, making her almost unable to keep her eyes open.

Soon they arrived at the Capital and everyone was escorted to their rooms and given a keycard attached to their wrist (viva bracelet) that opened their room and their room only.

Rita's room was across from Ellie's. Bella and Coraline were next door to each other. Bella was at the moment looking down from the window, watching all the dots people walking about, they looked like ants

Mare looked around the large room. She ran her hand over the bedspread. Tears fill her eyes. "So much like the lab." she murmurs. She does her exercise again. She walks to the window and slides open the door. The cool breeze brushes her hair from her shoulders. She steps out onto a railing. Surprisingly, Mare feels desperately lonely. Mare never had the benefit of a childhood. Her earliest memory is of her helping the doctor clean. She never had the opportunity for friends. "And now I'll die before every having a friend. Before ever being in a relationship, and before anyone ever cares about me." she whispers.

Charlie pauses by the doorway to her room. This is where she'll stay? It almost brought tears to her eyes. She would have more than one pillow. A bathroom that didn't constantly need fixing and- she breaths out a sigh of relief when she lays down on the bed. This is like sleeping on a cloud! Is this the life normal people live? She smiles to herself. Once again reminding herself that after the Games, this life will be hers.
First thing is first. She'll have to destroy the competition. She slipped on the train, but now she is back on track. She won't make any friends, instead, she'll focus on finding ways to destroy them!
She finds a piece of paper and quickly writes down every name that she can remember from the picking. She'll keep track of their powers, their enemies, their alliances. Then exploit their weaknesses however she can.
...
Katana didn't have the energy to complain about the size of the room. Like Charlie, she moves straight to the bed. Breathing a sigh of relief to get to relax. Maybe now she can get her thoughts straight.

Akiro's room was at the very end of a hallway, which he didn't mind. That just mean solitude. He opened the door, and as it slid open, he had to admit that he was rather impressed with the room itself. Nothing like what he was used to, though you wouldn't find him complaning. He walked around the room for a minute, before flopping onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. Now that he was off the train, he knew what he did was dumb. He shouldn't be getting close to anyone. He shouldn't be trusting anyone. That would get him killed. And if there was one thing Akiro knew, it was that he was getting out of here alive. "Things will be different," he said aloud, despite being alone. "They have to be." There would certainly be some changes either way that this went, and Akiro was going to see the more positive ones.

Ellie and her team were also relaxing on the bed, or more so that Ellie was sleeping while the rest of her team were curled up beside her.

Rita wasn't sleeping but rather taking a shower, letting the warm water rinse her clean of the lemon and cherry-smelling soap off of her body.

Coraline sidled up by Bella's side. "This is almost like when we're on the stage with those high platforms during a turf war." Coraline mused softly.

Jacovin quickly shut the door, then tore the bracelet off and threw it on the bed. After a few moments, he looked around. He hated bracelets, they always seemed to controversial to him. Besides, they only served as something to get snagged by something passing by. The boy went about exploring the room, poking at every little things and peeking into every little crevice. His curiosity was getting the better of him, but he didn't care. For now, he was safe.

-=-

Chelsea spun in a slow circle, taking in everything in the room. Looking at the bracelet, she sighed. "Not a very attractive piece of jewelry, is it?" She shook her head slowly, then walked slowly around the room. She didn't care so much about the need to know her surroundings. She wanted to find something that she could use to make the bracelet a bit better. After a few minutes of looking around, she sat down and sighed. "Nothing to do, hm? Shame, I was looking forward to being entertained by this whole event." Standing back up, the girl walked over to the door, swiping the bracelet over a reader and stepping outside. After a few moments of standing, listening to the blissful silence, she began to hum. It was a soft melody, quiet and sweet. Slowly, Chelsea started to dance down the hallways, wandering where she pleased. What were they going to do, stop her? She doubted that they could.
