Boreas stayed casually leaning on a wall, munching on his steak.
But his mind was whirling. Leave him outside? Back in the outside
world? T-They couldn't do that, could they? Boreas was really just
trying to offer encouragement - in his own weird way.
Even Fauna, who Boreas had thought would see through his rather
nasty words, instead turned around and thought he was goading
another student that he didn't even know! Flour Boy, Boreas called
the invisible boy in his brain.
But it seemed that his courteousness wasn't appreciated. Maybe what
he needed to do in this Academy wasn't trying to help others, but
help himself control his own power.
Yes, that sounded marvellous.
He finished his food quickly and left the cafeteria, deciding to go
out for a breath of fresh air, away from all the brainless
hooligans who were hollering their lungs out in the cafeteria.
Fauna sighed. This was not going as she had planned. She could see
that Boreas was a good person. She buried her face in her hands.
"I've made a mess of things, haven't I?" Meanwhile, Max sidled up
to Boreas. "Dude, I think you should talk to Fauna. She feels
terrible about threatening you, and she tries to be nice to
everyone."
Boreas sighed. "And for what? Trying to help?" He turned around and
stared at Max with eyes like chips of ice. "I'd rather not, Pizza
Maniac." Though he did feel guilty for storming off like that.
Max frowned. He was not liking this kid. He summoned his hammer and
pointed it at Boreas. "Listen, Frosty Boy. Fine. Don't apologize.
But i don't want you to keep making Fauna upset like that." He
turned around and went to comfort Fauna.
Boreas frowned at Fauna, then turned to Max. "Suits you, that clown
hammer." In a poor attempt at leading Fauna into the classroom, he
stuttered slightly, "Uhh, do you have, uh, plants like that? In
your garden?"
"Look, I'm trying to apologise, okay?" Boreas said suddenly,
interrupting Fauna. "Jeez, don't make this more awkward than it has
to be! I'm sorry, okay? For storming off like that! And trying to
help! I just don't get why you can't understand that I was
trying to help!"
Fauna looked at her feet. "I-I'm sorry too. I didn't take the time
to listen and try and understand. I shouldn't of been so quick to
judge." She looked up, tears in her eyes. "Please forgive me? I'm
the one who should be apologizing."
Boreas looked away and snarled. "Stop doing that...it's stupid, I
can't not forgive you when you're bawling your eyes
out..."
He sighed. "It's fine, okay?"
Fauna wiped her eyes hurriedly. "Okay. I'll..I'll have Max show you
where the dorm rooms are. I think I need to be alone right now."
She walked away, said something to Max, and kept walking back
towards the greenhouse. Max glanced at Boreas, still frowning. "I'm
supposed to tell you where the dorms are. C'mon."
