Jupiter, watching the barn, carefully scorched the area beneath her body to warm it up. She lay her tail by her side, occasionally flicking it around.

I'm trying to think of a good signature, so... Use your imagination.

Jack runs out of the barn and past Grandpa. "Ally, are you coming out? Fresh air here unlike the barn. The barn smells like horse crap"

Jack is still a bit paranoid with Ally. He's relating Ally to the movie where fairies are fighting with chainsaws and machetes. He then thinks it's just a movie and nothing bad will really happen

Pfft. Idiots. If I wanted the barn to burn, it'd be a pile of ashes by now. Jupiter thought angrily, hearing Jack say that the barn might burn down.

Grandpa says to Meg, “We’re in the house. When she got in, he told everyone, “This is a magical preserve. Most of the creatures in the forest want to kill you. That’s why I didn’t want you children in there. In the forest there is a lake. Don’t go there either. Naiads would want to drown you if you get to close. The cow is an ancient animal, older than this preserve. It’s milk opens your eyes to the truth. That’s why you can see the fairies.” He waits for a reaction before continuing.

Luke is listening. This sounded fun, but he had to be cautious.

“Yes. It is a Phoenix.” their grandpa said. “There are some rules that you should follow if you want to live. What you do to any magical creature, they can do to you. So if you kill any creature, any creature can kill you. As long as you don’t do harm or mischief, you are safe. Don’t go to the forest. It is still dangerous even with the protections.”

Jupiter, despite not being able to see into the barn, could hear that the humans were being told about the creatures. She was angered by this, and began growling again.
