Fortem ducked as the fire singed the fur on his back. He rolled
over to extinguish it, but he would probably have a black stripe
down his spine for a bit. Seeing that his rock type moves couldn't
do much, once more, he used splash. There were probably stronger
water magic moves... but hey, this worked.
“Fire and electric.” Mordred muttered as she focused on dodging.
She sent a Dark Pulse out again, staring at the strange object
through a squinted eye.
Fortem yelped as a bright flash left a smouldering spot on the
ground right beside him. "So the colour of the cube corresponds
with the elemental attack, probably..." He noted, narrowly avoiding
another bolt. Water would do no good against this... Well, maybe
the lightning magic didn't have the same rules as other moves, but
sand attack might work...? He knew electric attacks were weak to
ground, so this might be similar? Hesitating a bit, he tried sand
attacking.
"Emerald!" Fortem called, concerned. Thinking quickly, he raised
everyone who couldn't float or fly onto a flat stone platform from
a stone edge. "This should hopefully block the sparks," He said,
stumbling whilst dodging another bolt. "I wonder..." Fortem used
stone edge once more, making a tall spike, like a lightning rod.
Maybe it could attract all of the lighting bolts?
Indeed he did. The gusts of wind might as well have been bricks
flying around. One knocked Fortem off of his feet, and he skidded
across the ground, luckily able to hop back to his feet quickly.
His legs ached from the hike up to the peak as he leaped over
another gust. He kept an eye on stray grasses and leaves that the
wind carried with it, making them able to be seen.
Mordred continued her dark assault, snarling and barking as she
fired off Dark Pulses. Mordred muttered some inpatient words,
something about her nerves and a stupid shape.
"Oh that's not good," Fortem said, stating the obvious, as his gaze
followed the tornado. What could they do about such a big attack?
It seemed that they were dodging more than attacking... maybe once
all of the elements had been used, the attacks would stop...? No,
that was probably wishful thinking... maybe it would get stronger,
or it would cycle... and Fortem didn't know how much longer he
could go for.
Mordred’s head raises up, her eyebrows lowered. She took a few
steps back. “H-how do we get rid of that?” Her fur was bristling,
her lips drawn back defensively. Her ears pinned back, fur raised
with terror.
The tornado continued to persist for a few more moments before
completely dispersing. But the wind blades soon started up again,
one ramming into Azure
