Mirage takes the batteries, unscrews the battery compartment on his tail and places them in said battery compartment. He presses down the button on his head, and everything seems to work. He thanks Pico for the help.

Sprites made by MetalHeadKendra, CyndaquilLuvsVan_Halen, and froge, respectively. All credit goes to them. PFP is an image of Oshawott from the Pokémon manga.
