"Emotions or not, I'm sure my magic can make you feel a couple things..." Continuing to ignore the others, his eyes widened as his pupils tinted red. Black vines struck the blob as it restrained him, the figure turning away but his gaze remaining on his target. Another arm struck out with a semi-clenched fist as he anticipated his next move. Eventually he turned to the figure that told him to stop, simply shooting them a crimson glance.

Welp, it worked, i guess.
But now, the fire's HUGE.
By that i mean, the burn'd likely make you instinctually draw back before you could reach the cell, let alone the blob. You can't even see either of those anymore, anyway.

The blob, already being practically unable to hear the roaring fire due to having to listen to it 24/7, even during sleep, eating, etc. was able to somewhat hear it. "Intimidating or not, you can't get me, can you?"
But now HE'S the one barely able to be heard due to the fire.
Also, the chant didn't work, at least not visibly.

"It would be funny if I couldn't," He paused to click his fingers and make the world around the blob dark, "But I can. Your cognition is pretty manipulatable, wouldn't you say?" He asked, all other noise dying out around the Blob including his own fire.
