Braeden caught Joseph's leg, he twisted it. Braeden was now unable to attack, because he was grasping Joseph's leg with both hands.

Joseph grimaced as his leg was twisted, he tried to hit Braeden in the face with his other leg but just fell onto his back.

Sam froze. She shook, and maintained her position. She stood straight, only punching him once, with brute force, even knocking her over.

"You failing. I expect the best from my sparring partners. Here, I'll give you a free shot." Braeden said, he spread out his body, so as to give Joseph as massive list of options.

"Damn it! That hurt!" Brendon said, "Okay, fine, you asked for it." Brendon spit on the ground, and used all of his energy to create a massive tarp of scalding water above them, the tarp covered just the station that Sam and Brendon were on, "You hit me again, I lose what's left of my energy, and it falls, and burns us both. You don't, I use what's left of my energy, it falls, and burns us both. It's a tie altogether, this will crush us... Don't worry. It won't be so bad, I promise..."

Joseph collapsed onto the ground, holding his privates in pain.
He made strange grunting sounds, tossing and turning, "You win", he managed to let out.
A few tears ran down his face.

(Can the characters still feel pain, but not be damaged as much?)

"You need any help?" Braeden asked. "158 years ago, I was kicked there by someone with a metal shoe, so I know how much pain you feel right now. So, you okay?"

Brendon nodder, a few large bits of scalding water landed on him, burning him slightly, he winced, "I know. I had to muster all my strength to land one last blow."

It wasn't anything personal he was just mad cos of the pain.
