It really depends on the person you're collabing with :0 the way I like to do my collabs is we each to a sketch, then we trade and do eachothers' lineart, then we do the colouring of the piece we sketched c':

The two people share making of a pic. Ex. you do sketch, I do lineart, then you color, I shade etc.

Well I'm bad at coloring and even worse with shading. Maybe I could collab with someone in the future after I make the lineart :>
