thank you diana, I still floundered a bit because I didn't think there'd be any on that page since the eggs should be available to level 5 trainers, but then I realized it was only one part of that page that was unavailable to level 5.\r\nI really am stupid, you know

Well, the part about it being someone other than Riako who put the troll egg on the Wiki is true as far as I can tell. ;)
