Goldstripe trotted through the forest, Moonkit by her side. She searched for a nice place to make a break, and found it in the form of a lovely clearing, sun beaming through the branches of the trees.
She sat down, admiring the lovely scenery, before focusing on Moonkit. "You know, what comes now, right?", she asked in a serious manner.
The dark kitten looked at her with big eyes and nodded. She smiled.
"Good! Here comes question number one: In rough times like snowfall, which cats are allowed to eat first, and why?"
-
Moonkit took a deep breath. "Elders, queens/kits and apprentices may eat first, the warriors and the leader after that! That's... because the elders deserve respect for devoting their lives to the clan and the young ones deserve to be protected as weak members of our clan, being their strongest one day. It's the principle of the stronger, carrying the weaker, for they deserve it!" he meowed confidently. "That question is kit's play, MouseGleam told me a story about that awful snowfall some years ago", the little cat remembered.
"Good job!", his golden-coloured mother answered, gently licking his head as a reward. "Now your climbing-lesson, young man", she said with a smirk.
Moonkit could feel his fur stood on end. "Noooooo!", he complained, "I hate climbing... I never managed to climb down on my own!".
Ignoring his squeals, Goldstar nudged him towards the nearby tree. "Come on!", she said encouraging, "This time, you will! I just can feel it!"
Remembering his dream, he took all of his courage, climbing up the first branches.
"I can do this! For the sake of my new clan! All warriors can climb!", he thought.
"Just calm down, Moonkit! If Bumbleheart is with her, everything´s going to be fine. You think, you're secure enough to climb down?", Goldstripe asked calmingly.
The younger cat took a deep breath, stopping his paws from shaking. He clinged to the tree trunk, slowly making his way down, step by step.
After what felt like forever, he suddenly had grass under his paws again. Befuddled, he looked into the face of his mother, which was grinning from ear to ear. Satisfied, she said:"See? I told you that it'd work this time! Now we should hurry and see, whats wrong with Moonstar!"
Worried and still not able to believe his success, Moonkit followed his mother.
-
Concerned, Goldstripe leaped through the forest, but not without feeling proud of her kit. "He always tries to do his best, learning the rules and what beeing a clan-member is about... Gramps, I hope you can see us right now and accept us as a family, though my father had chosen to be a kittypet... You know, he loved you. All I wish is, that you grant this wonderful kitten your blessing, even if he is not of my own blood! He'll need a wise guardian to be at his side, when I can't.", she prayed in her thoughts, with all of her heart.
MoonStar limped out of the den. She sighed, facing the ground she limped to the Star-rock. "Cats That can catch their own paw, Join under The Sky-Rock for a clan meeting!" her voice rang through the forest.
As Swellowtail heard the announcement, she leaped over to the Starrock. But before she left, Goldkit lightly snagged her tail with her paw. "Mommy...?"
"Yes?"
"Um, will you be back soon?"
"Of course! It'll just take a few..." Swellowtail's words were cut short. She felt something slit through her back. "I...hurk...." She stared down at Goldkit, who's pupils had shrunk in fear. She started to tear up. Goldkit softly meowed. "mommy..?" Swellowtail's eyes started to laze off. One had already lost consciousness, and was lolling around in her eye socket. Goldkit gasped and screeched. "MOMMY!!!!!!!"
.....
"She's....gone..." She sniffed. Goldkit was crying, and fell on top of her dead/ asleep/ idfk foster mother. She soon started to black out....and was sure she'd never see Swellowtail again.
RainBreeze trotted to the entrance, A gathering? he wondering, delivering a plump mouse for StarStream, he'd also would promise her that he would tell her. He sat near the star rock just enough to see Moonstar.
Stupid Moonstar, did she actually think she can do a chase to chase a skinny fox outa here? MockEar laughed. But he paid attention.
As she saw the Bad shape, in which her Leader was, Goldstripe sent Moonkit back to the queens-den and sat down in front of the Stone, like the other cats. When Moonstar made her announcement, she gasped in surprise, but didn't say anything. She wanted to hear, what was going on in the head of their leader. What is the meaning of all of this?, she wondered

Moonkit had returned to the den, but couldn't help peeping out of it to catch a few words, the leader might say.
