Solar decided to start the testing without 1-0 and tried to stab her with a blade but it only caused the area to blow apart before filling back up. This time she used a blade made of shadows she had forced the triplets to solidify in return for splitting them. she dug it into Athena's side and she flinched a little, it obviously hadn't hurt that much. Athena pinned her ears back.

the triplets are in a sleep pile but they are really plotting how to scare free.
flora whispers "what should we scare her with? another tornado?"
pyro snickered "No, we should make a dragon and have it spit fire at her!"
breezy shushed pyro who forgot to stay quiet "i like pyro's idea." they un-piled each other and practiced making a dragon. flora sprayed petals everywhere and breezy controlled the wind to have them take the form of a dragon. then pyro added fire in the inside so it would breath it out when it opened its mouth

1-0 went back to the test room and thanked Solar for testing Athena for her. She then looked at the other shadows. "Do not bother other test subjects, or you will be punished." She scolded. She then walked up to each cage, pushing a bowl of pet food and a bowl of water into each cage.

the shadows laughed at 1-0 behind her back then sent the dragon to scare free ready to call it off if 1-0 came near. solar nodded to 1-0. she wasn't done yet. she formed a blade out of light and stabbed Athena with it, Athena's form flickered and she yowled in pain, her voice disappearing everytime she did. she leaped at solar but hit the light shield, she blacked out and shadow blood (its pitch black) seeped out of the fresh wound. solar put her back in her cage still in solid form

the tripelets made the dragon bigger and sent it after jay instead of free because free was sleeping and they hadn't figured out how to give their creations voices yet.

Athena had woken up but she still couldn't move. blood was soaking her now solid fur and making it sticky. "............uuuughhh.............." was all she could get out, but she then coughed up more blood and it tasted horrible. instead of the normal metallic tasting blood of the flesh it was a mix of salt and garlic and something else she couldn't identify.

"Yes. That's the word." 1-0 clarified, reading the definition of it in her built-in dictionary. "Thank you for testing Athena. Would you like to help test the other shadows?" She offered.

"of course" replied solar. she went to the shadow's cage and trapped them in a light ball. she dumped them out in a room but forced out their crystals and motioned for 1-0 to hold them cuz if she did they would die instantly. then she said "merge. now. you saw Athena so unless you want that to happen to you do what we say." the shadows merged whimpering as the memory of seeing Athena's unconscious and bloody body being dragged across the floor. "now turn solid." they did.

"Thank you. I will hold the crytals. Now.. Hmm.. We need to see what there shadow eating does to the physical entity it is attached to and how it happens, as shadows are merely the lack of light in an area." 1-0 explained and put the crystals on a silver box, seperated by styrofoam so the crystals won't hit each other.

"noted" solar said. she had purposely not fed them for awhile so they would be hungry for testing she propped up a piece of cardboard so it had a long shadow. the merged triplets ran over to it and gulped it down. their tail got a little longer and their form turned a little less transparent like Athena's whose was completely solid from all the shadows she had eaten when she was in solid form. solar noted this too. she scanned 1-0's chip again to see if she had any other information about shadows. something about the shadow's here history popped up but she ignored it and looked at 1-0 for more testing stuff

Athena is bleeding even worse

"who should we use? maybe instead of an experiment we should use an intelligent yet average animal." suggested solar, she didn't really care but it seemed more productive. "the intelligence would attract them to it's mind and we could see what happens when they eat its brain." the shadows were still noming on the cardboard shadow and solar took it away so they wouldn't get to full. they pouted hungrily.

Luxa walked out of the medical room, a very disapointed look on her face. Her feet dragged when she walked and her face was red from crying. A lone tear slipped down her cheek.

Stone woke up a while later and yawned. "When are we gonna eat..." He groaned.

Free woke up and sat up unusually quietly. She hung her head with her ears flat facing the wall her cage was next to with her back facing every other experiment. Her breathing was slow and shallow, but not too bad. She still felt hot and could feel blood dripping from her teeth, and ignored the urge to spit it out.
