She added rather quickly after that. A white he-wolf padded warmly into the Pups' Den to greet his relatives, but Echo felt a coat of physically harmless but violent hail surround her insides. She and White-fang's relationship was rocky, and they weren't as close as they used to be. It was just that White-fang hadn't noticed.
His bushy white tail curled around hers, but grimly her tail slipped out of the bushy one's grip.
Echo's stern poker-faced surfaced from her emotion, giving her that grime hollow look she rarely used. White-fang asked her on a regular basis if she was okay or emotionally hurt, but she always denied it. The white-furred wolf shot a concerned look at her, but she pretended not to notice by look at the wall of the Pups' Den. She was now thinking about Storm and his future--he'd been so troubled lately.
Tiger burst into the Pups' Den, his fur sticking out in any way possible and his orange eyes steaming with fierce, reckless, battle-ready excitement. His eyes said everything about him. Tiger glanced at Echo, his ears pinned back a little bit.
"You promised that you'd train me first thing when I woke up, remember?" He urged, making the young pups by Dagger's stomach squirm.
Echo shot him a warning look, but because he was Tiger, her trainee didn't quite get it. he kept on blabbing until her ebony tail whooshed at his muzzle and he cut off with a squeak. "Okay, Tiger!" She whisper-snapped into his ear. "I'll take you out training. Good luck, Dagger." She said her goodbye quickly and left the Pups' Den. White-fang didn't seem to notice that Dagger was the only one she addressed.

dagger lapped the top of her pup's head's gently, trying to calm them down.
''well bye to you too echo.... jeez, treat the guy's like they don't exist...'' scar grumbled, getting up and stretching.
''the grand-pup's look so cute'' white-fang chuckled, nuzzling both pup's on their head's.
As the sun began to awaken in the sky, it cast a light hazy fog over the camp as Storm waited impatiently outside of the Pups' Den, his tail wagging in attempt to expel his undying joy and clinging urge to barge through the ivy curtain of the tranquil Pups' Den. Wedge and her new successor, Coral (Ivy's intelligent black she-pup; they called the former she-rogue Lilac now that they had two Lilies) padded out of the Pups' Den, both with tired eyes from working from the night until sunrise. He looked up at Wedge, and she nodded numbly.
"Yes, you can go in. Four of them, three female one male. They're all very small, and the male one breathes oddly." Coral said, and stepped out of the way.
Storm leaped into the Pups' Den to see Lily, curled around four pups. But Lily, being the she-wolf that she was, seemed normal and easy as ever. Storm craned his head to her ears, and lapped his tongue across it. Her nose pressed against his neck affectionately, but Storm felt something wrong with her. She was weaker, and her tail dropped at the ground frailly.
"The naming ceremony?" Lily reminded him about the event that took place in the Wolves of the Shadows--even if only the two parents could hear. Storm nodded, and nuzzled the brown-furred male. "I name this pup Mouse." He said quickly, ignoring the option of description and reason.
Lily's tail poked the small, light-grey wheezing he-pup. "I name this he-pup of mine Wind, because of the wind that touched our camp right when he was born." She said softly, her tongue licking her worn pup's head.
"I name this pup Flutter," Storm said, licking the grey she-pup's head. Lily nodded in acceptance, and her nose touched the last light-brown she-pup's head. "I name this she-pup of mine Branch, because of the color of her fur and the branches of the trees among this forest." She concluded.

all of the other wolves in the pack knew the rule's probably stated that there were to be no leashed or former leashed dog's in the pack, but this husky didn't have a collar nor the scent of any longpaw's.
and she was in really bad shape when she had entered the camp.
a majorly half ripped ear, blinded in her left eye, claw mark's all over her body, and her belly was a bit big, so no one could argue that the she-dog needed to have the wound's treated and a pack to stay in.
she was curled up around a single pup, a she-pup with light brown marking's that a husky had, a small patch of dark gray on the pup's back and the pup's back paw's having jet-black color right above the ankle.
white-fang politely said bye to scar and dagger and quickly went to the food pile grabbing a rabbit, then came back and gently laying it down next to the she-dog's muzzle.
her one wounded and none wounded lavender eye opened a little and her nose twitched.
''oh.. why thank you mister white-fang.... though you didn't have to bring me a rabbit... i could have gotten it myself'' she said, lifting her head up to look at him.
''it's no trouble at all shimmer, beside's you need to stay with your pup... it's better someone at least bring's you something, even if the she-wolf..... erm... she-dog.. doesn't know she need's something yet'' he noted, laying down and putting one paw over his other paw.
shimmer looked down at the rabbit in front of her, licking her chop's as she slightly drooled.
''okay.. maybe you guessed well, i am pretty hunger....'' she admitted and started to munch on the rabbit.
''heh, i guess i just guess really well, anyway, i'll probably be back later to check up on my brother and stepsister here and see the grand-pup's... if your ever bored and want to talk just ask'' he said and gave a small polite nod to her.
she looked up from the rabbit and nodded back to him.
''alright, thank you for the rabbit'' she said, then went back to eating.
white-fang left the pup den and went to the alpha's den, respectfully sitting in the entrance of the cave.
''alpha sir, shimmer, the husky in the pup den, she's recovering and is doing better then the day she had wandered into the camp, and she might be a great ally to the pack since she joined'' he reported.
he was acting a lot more like a really loyal pack wolf now, way more then when he was a trainee though.
Storm padded into the Pups' Den, where Lily was waiting in depression. "Wind." Lily whispered softly as they moarned for their lost pup in despair, the breeze lashing out at their fur as the other three she-pups curled up in Lily's tail. Mouse was awake and was coughing. "He just... wasn't breathing..." Lily croaked. "Shh." Storm's head bowed, remembering the light-grey pup.

the she-dog only looked about one year old in human year's, so she was still pretty young.
her she-pup with the most unusual pack name, vanilla, whimpered quietly and snuggled closer to shimmer's belly, shivering slightly.
scar had left the pup den to go hunt for the pack and left dagger in the pup den with the other pup mother's to be alone with the twin's.
''yeah, really sorry storm, lily...'' dagger murmured, curling her tail around her two pup's and gazing over at them.
''not all runt's survive bird brain's, you should realize that'' came teal's voice from the back of the den, her back to them as she was curled around at least five pup's.
the father of teal's pup's was no where to be seen, but only two of them had a gingery brown coat color while the other three had her coat color.
steel's grumble was also nearby, but only near the other end of the pup den with a dark gray she-wolf with emerald green eye's and one folded ear, ruby and zero's she-pup willow.
he was sitting next to willow with his claw's scratching the soft earth underpaw, his glare murderous if anyone even came near him and his family.
she was asleep, curled up with three pup's with three different coat color's, her coat color, steel's coat color, and a snowy white pup with a silvery patch of fur on the pup's back.
Teal looked bewildered, but quickly she thought of a comeback. "You can't hurt my pups. It's against the rules." She hissed. "I won't kill your pups, Teal. Fate will." Storm was growling under his breath, quiet enough for nobody to hear it except Teal. Teal didn't reply, but her unsteady gaze turned away from Storm as he padded to Lily and their unhealthy pups.

steel, willow, dagger, and shimmer all stared at storm in complete surprise.
he didn't know where echo was, so he couldn't talk to her at the moment and there was to much drama going on in the pup-den.
''not a whole lot to do...'' he grumbled.
Title: A week later
At the wistful hiss of the wind that suddenly weaved through Storm's thick fur, his ears pinned back; Storm was definitely not the type for the cold. His head craned and he entered the Alpha's Cave, where Adder was laying peacefully while listening to the melodies of the birds' chirps. "Adder?" Storm muttered nimbly.
Adder looked up. "I've decided that I will." Storm said to his father hoarsely, his tail tucked between his hind legs like when he was a shy pup. Adder nodded, as if expecting this, and rose to his paws slowly. At the same pace, he padded out of the Alphas' Den with his tail flicking at Storm to beckon his son to follow. This time, Storm obeyed.
Adder's back arched towards the ground as he sent a yowl through the camp that called an important meeting. It was midday, so it obviously wasn't the patrol calls. Storm noticed, sitting next to Adder on the Meeting Ledge, that his muzzle was tinged in aging white hairs.
"The time has come that I grow old," the Alpha announced boldly. "And time to announce my successor--the new Alpha." His tail rested on Storm's shoulder. "I hereby announce that I am reassigned to the Full-Grown Wolves' Den and that my son, Storm, is the new Alpha." Adder said calmly. The uproar of cheering came from the crowd, them repeating the names of both Storm and Adder.
So I'm Alpha now. Storm thought. He remembered that their beta hadn't ever really been replaced. Who do I trust the most? Storm scanned the crowd. It was sort of against the rules to have siblings as betas and Alpha, so he ignored Echo.
"My beta will be Scar," Storm said to the pack, and it echoed.

me..?! he thought in surprise.
he gulped slightly and walked over to where the edge of the crowd of wolves were and looked up at storm, his expression just as calm as he could get, though truthfully he never expected himself to be the pack's beta before, so he was kind of a bit scared.
in the pup-den, dagger's tail wagged as she watched scar happily as he was chosen as the new beta.
''i'm happy that your mate's actually getting to be beta dagger'' shimmer said.
''to be honest i've actually wondered who'd be the new beta if either echo or storm became alpha, and i'm quite happy for scar'' she said happily, looking over at shimmer.
shimmer gave a small nod and looked over at the alpha's rock, ear's perked up as she seen someone wolf leave the crowd.
who could that be...? she wondered.
she picked her pup up gently bu the scruff and laid her down next to dagger's paw's.
''could you keep an eye on vanilla for me please...? you, scar, echo, white-fang and storm are the only one's i actually trust with my pup..'' she mumbled.
''sure, beside's all pup-mother's need to stretch their leg's every once in a while'' dagger said honestly, as if she knew how shimmer felt.
''thank you'' shimmer said and padded out of the pup-den, stretching and shaking her shaggy and sort of scarred coat.
she seen the shadowy wolf sneak off through some of the bushes forming the pack wall and she ran after the wolf, leaping through the bush wall.
she tumbled a through the bush wall and laid on her side for a moment, stunned a little.
''shimmer? what are you doing here?'' came white-fang's voice.
''oh.. um, sorry white-fang... i uh, didn't know who came through here so i was curious....'' she muttered, looking down with her ear's slightly pinned back.
he chuckled a little and sat up, puffing out his fur a little due to a bit of cold wind going through.
shimmer shivered but pretended not feel the cold breeze.
''it's not like i'm meeting echo here anymore... she's been in her own little world after getting tiger as her trainee, been too busy to hang out anymore....'' he grumbled, laying back down and looking down at the pond.
she walked over and laid down next to him and looked down at the pond water as well, seeing the reflection of her scarred eye.
she sighed and batted the water's surface, making the reflection go away.
''hey, don't be upset because of only being able to see out of one eye... be lucky, beside's i'm sure any young he-wolf would like you, your sweet and caring, and your eye's are beautiful, any he-wolf would be lucky to be with you shimmer'' he said, looking over at her.
shimmer could have sworn she felt her fur grow warm, but she could have just imagined that.
''heh.. maybe, but i'm not sure about that...'' she muttered.
Echo nodded.

''oh come on shimmer, any he-wolf would be lucky, trust me... just don't beat yourself up alright..?'' he asked, head tilted.
''alright... i um, should get back to my pup.. bye white-fang'' shimmer said, standing up and shook her coat out.
''bye'' he said, restin his muzzle onto his paw's.
she licked white-fang on the cheek and padded back to the pup-den.
he watched her leave and pinned his ear's back.
