Rosepetal purred in delight and wrapped her tail around the hungry kit, smothering him with her warm, motherly scent. "I'll have to introduce you to water vole next. It is my personal favorite. But I can ask for a warrior to bring you back a bird or two if you'd rather."

Shadedfur watched Ollie nose the mouse and her tail flicked in confusion. She looked at her sister for guidance and relaxed immensely. Rosepetal sent her away with a twitch of her ears and turned to the kit's mouse. She bit into the stomach to open the carcass for tiny kit teeth to bite into. "There you are Ollie, have you eaten fresh kill before?"

The black she-cat slipped free of the nursery and shook herself of the milky scent. "Where is Foxstep," she murmured to herself, glancing across the camp. Perhaps they should send out a small patrol to be sure the dog had left their territory for good.

"Too many," she grumbled under her breath. A kit was one thing, it was in the warrior code to care for any and all kits no matter where they came from. Loners, kittypets, they had no place in clan life. If she were leader... The she-cat shook away her thoughts with a few flicks of her tail. "Thank you Flintstar, I will take responsibility for his care. And you should speak to Oakpaw's mentor, he obviously needs more discipline."

((I don't know if we're still talking about it, but Shadedfur could be the cat of the prophecy. The way she got that scar was a fight with a badger when she was an apprentice. She didn't kill it, but she /did/ kick it's ass to run home crying))

Rosepetal ushered the kit inside. The nursery was warm with the scent of milk and forming life. Her nest was lined with feathers and fur. "You can share a nest with me for now. I can put you together your own later if you'd like."

Shadedfur followed her leader's scent to the medicine cat den, and she paused outside to poke her head in. "Flintstar? May I speak with you?"

"Shadedfur!" Despite her eager greeting, her mew was hardly above a whisper. The two she-cats met with a touch of noses and a loud purr from Rosepetal. "I'm glad to see you safe. I heard-" The queen noticed the little kit beside her sister and lowered her head to touch noses.

"Who's this little one?"

"This is Ollie, he's lost."

	She flicked her tail in a lazy good bye before guiding Ollie through the tunnel entrance. Her tail wrapped loosely around the kit's body, tugging him close to her comfortingly. "Whiteleap, Snowflank," she mewed in return, nodding her head in greeting. "This is Ollie, he was found in our territory and it seems he's lost." Bringing home a stray kit was not something most would think Shadedfur would do. However the warrior code speaks of protecting all kits, no matter their origin.

"It smells like there was a fight. Was any cat hurt?" She sniffed the air for the scent of blood.
