Freyr says nothing and continues staring ahead. After an awkward moment, a tear falls, landing on the wooden deck, a single droplet holding all the past regrets.

"Atticus... He used to.... We were ah- good friends."

His fingers were gripped around the wheel tightly.

"I don't know why, but I was... oddly cruel and harsh to him. Eventually I just started to ignore him. I don't know what happened to him, but he got over me... hopefully."

He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the last picture. He handed it to Shirin. In it was a picture of him and Atticus laughing in a bar illuminated by neon lights. Atticus had scars on his arms and Freyr had such a different vibe in the picture.

The current Freyr was gentle and kind. That Freyr looked cruel and manipulative.

"I've changed now. I started stalking this entity when he reminded me of Atticus to make up. But I don't know if he'll still accept me."

Freyr walked up to the General and took over steering. As the wind blew through his hair and Felicia curled up at his feet, he thought about the recent happenings. He knew he was under suspicion, but his bet was on the General. The interest that the others had on Felicia was also concerning. She was a big part of his childhood and he would never forgive himself if she died under is watch.

He bent down, keeping one hand on the wheel and giving Felicia a little scratch behind her ears. She wriggled around, getting a better angle in the sun.

Kinoko swallowed, anxiety kicking down the front door of her mind.

"Well, as far as I've seen, the people I've interacted with and have had low ranks were incredibly impressive. Although it is possible that I've only seen people with low ranks, I do know that I've seen the darker sides of this area. The people there were all ranked pretty high, but the people I've seen take them down were much more impressive, although lower ranking."

She took a shaky breath, her hands delicately wrapped around the baton. Man. I suck at public speaking.

"Plus, being the best also is not thinking and working too hard at things. It could be possible that the best people are just ones with lower rankings that aren't concerned with raising their ranks. Confidence is key, right?"

Kinoko's eyes scanned across the horrible words on the newspapers that had been glued in her notebook last. As she shut the book, she looked at herself through a small pocket mirror in her hand. As her eyes flicked from her mirror to her baton and back again. Suddenly, she snapped to attention and straightened herself, squaring her shoulders.

"Professor, as much as I believe in your words, I believe these ranks were made to have people at the bottom rise to their full potential, as broken they could be."

	He nodded and went over to the plaque. Being careful to not destroy anything else, he pricked his finger and let the blood drip onto the plaque, watching it slowly dissolve. He turned back to Aven. 	Kinoko had her arms crossed and her eyes down. The pushed the arm around her shoulders off of her. As the Professor and the rest of the class droned on about Edeyas, she pulled out a scrapbook and began reading the bits of newspaper articles that were neatly applied to the pages. [Read more]

Felicia sniffed Evangeline's sleeve, but turned away and bounded off to Freyr, who was fixing the Main Sail and mumbling something like "...swinging on ropes they shouldn't..." As he finished it, he turned to see Felicia racing full speed towards him.

Although he could pick Felicia up, he wouldn't be able to withstand the force of a Felicia Bullet™.

When she rammed straight into him, a pocket it his trench coat tore open and a few pictures flew out, scattering around. Felicia dove for the photographs and in an instant, two were shredded. Both Freyr and Felicia got to the last one at the same time. Once Freyr won the tug of war, he angrily shoved the picture into his pocket. Before that, the sun lit up the printed image just enough to see a flash of red hair.

Felicia excitedly waddled over to Shirin and deposited the shredded pictures.

Freyr looked down onto the deck. It was a pretty big height from where he was sitting. As he watched Evangeline stroke Felicia's fur, he glanced down to Alex, who was looking straight at Felicia. He stood up carefully on the wooden post and dove off of it. Before he touched the ground, he grabbed the pole and slid down the rest of the way.

Felicia wagged her tail and quickly waddled over to him to get another bite of his coat.
