Leafstars made it to the medicine den and noticed that Breezesplash was gone. He took this opportunity to push his way into the place, padding over to his tiny sleeping kit. He curled up next to her, licking her head gently.

Rustkit blinked a bit. She had felt the touch of someone she knew all well. Her eyes fluttered open to see her father, Leafstar, next to her. She let out a content purr, her whole body going from its tense state to a calm loose one. She softly mewed out a barely audible hello, before curling back up and closing her eyes, too sick to exert much energy at all.

Leafstars ears perked up a bit, he didn't want to seem too upset. He thought for a moment then glanced at the fresh kill pile. "Think you could grab us some more prey? We are running awfully low." The pile was nothing more than a few scraps of animals almost to far eaten to be recognized. He let out a low sigh and then turned his attention back to Desertcloud. "If you don't, that's alright but..." He let his meow end short and without waiting for an answer, turned to head towards the medicine den.

Breezesplash had gone a bit farther out of boundaries than she should have and was still collecting some herbs she found useful. She was used to carrying the herbs in large quantities and had no trouble with collecting them all in her jaw without damaging then. Oh geez, im a little far off the beaten path huh... She thought and glanced around, a bit confused on where she had ended up.

Leafstar nodded at the response but took a few more paw steps back and forth before responding. "I've been better" He mewled out, glancing around the clan. He was worried lately more and more, the clan seemed to keep getting quieter, most cats didn't have the energy to make it out, so he was glad at least Desertcloud was doing alright.

Rustkit snored in her sleep, kicking slightly as her dreams were rough and her fever was getting higher.

Breezesplash caught sight of some more wild feverfew growing and gathered it up, knowing it was important for Rustkit's health. It wasn't typical of the she-cat to collect herbs just for one cat but since it was for the leaders last kit, she felt a certain drawing to protect her. She began padding back now with her mouth full of feverfew to replenish the stocks.

Leafstar noticed Desertcloud as she came outside the warrior den. He glanced around the clan area before padding over to the she-cat. "Good morning, Desertcloud" Leafstar quietly mewed, his voice a raspy meow. He wasn't really in the mood for much small talk but he figured hearing another cats voice might help calm his nerves.

Rustkit finished chewing and eating down the feverfew, barely keeping it down without coughing violently. She curled back up into her nest, already tired out from the little energy she exerted.

Breezesplash was already padding outside clan territory, searching for some herbs close to clan grounds. It seemed the herbs weren't plentiful close by and decided to head a little outside of clan boundaries despite it being a bit dangerous. She knew getting the herbs was more important now.

Leafstar paced outside his den, his dark fur absorbing the bright sun of the morning. He hadn't slept, much like most nights, and it was clear in his demeanor that he was feeling the stress of his daughters illness relapsing once again. He wasn't supposed to visit her, due to the fact that he was the leader, and getting sick would be detrimental to his clans safety, but he had visited her late in the night, despite knowing the risk.

Rustkit was just beginning to wake up after the stressful night of cold sweats and night terrors thanks to the high fever she was running. Her nest was a mess due to the constant turning and twisting in her sleep.

Breezesplash noticed that the kit was awake and made her way over quickly. She grabbed a bit of feverfew and nudged it to the kit. The little one took a mouthful and quickly swallowed it down, knowing it could help her. Breezesplash gently licked the kit's head, comforting the sick kit, knowing she was stressed and scared.
"Don't worry young one, you'll be better again soon." The med-cat purred out gently, nudging her lightly before padding back outside of the den to look around for more herbs.

▶ After the sudden death of the leader, Silverstar, things in the once peaceful clan started to turn sour. Deputy, once Leaftail, now Leafstar, took over and appointed Swallowtail as the new deputy. Cats in the clan were low on moral though, and when disease struck the clan many cats believed it was Starclan punishing them. Few cats survived and those that did were left weak and hardly able to fight. Now, with the clan numbers being only a bit over 5 cats and 3 kits, things aren't looking to hot. Rumor has it though, that a new prophesy revolving around a lone cat could save the clan. Will the clan be saved by the prophesy or are things to far gone to ever be saved for them now?
