	I think that this is a good suggestion, I also sometimes forget to put pokemon up for the wonder trade, and it would be good to have reminders. I also agree with Kankri_Vantas's suggestion that there could be a misc setting added to either enable to disable the reminders in case members don't want the reminders to appear. [Read more]

Gawain soon exits the two but is stopped by another person just before the a dirt path.

??? - Hey, you aren't going that way are you? There have been rumors of attacks and many other things, people have deemed it not safe to travel especially alone.

Gawain - .............................

??? - Hey are you listening?

Gawain stands with his back towards the person and then speaks in a somewhat low voice.

Gawain - I see..........

His sentence is short and quick before he starts to walk again and leaves the person there just staring at his back. After a few seconds he adjusts his bag on his shoulder and just keeps walking.

Soon Nova has had enough water and soon starts to feel tired again, looking up at the sky she notices that its starting to get a bit cloudy out. Taking a chance to find some cover she lays underneath a nearby tree and lays her head down. The wind around her starts to pick up a bit causes her feather winds to blow a little bit by her side. To her as the wind picks up she starts to slowly fall asleep.

Gawain finally makes it to the edge of the nearby town, he takes in a deep breath and sighs a bit before entering. It doesn't take long before he starts to hear whispers and rumors about dragon sightings nearby, they are anything from recent attacks to other events. Gawain tries his best to ignore the talking and tries to find a store where he can go and resupply. After walking for a few minutes he spots a store and slowly enters it.

There are a lot of items in the store and it also seems a bit busier than other stores he has been to, there are people looking at everything and a few seem to be hunters as well. It is as he approaches the counter that he overhears something from nearby.

???1 - I heard there was an attack from nearby

???2 - I know and it seems like the local hunters were notified of it that is why this store is so busy.

???1 - I wouldn't try to go after them, they are very dangerous. Especially since there are bandits as well.....

Gawain - .......................

After talking to the owner of the store, Gawain slowly puts the items he bought into his bag and quietly exits the store and heads down the street at a quick pace.

It takes another few minutes of walking before Nova reaches the lake that she passed by the day before. Looking at the crystal clear water, she slowly bends down and starts to drink the water quickly letting out a few coughs as she does.

"This feels better"

She thinks to herself as she starts to feel better after drinking.

After making sure that everything was packed, Gawain placed his bag over his shoulder and started to make his way to a dirt path. As he steps onto the dirt he realizes that there is also some gravel on the road, not thinking much about it he starts to head towards where he saw the town. Along the path there are trees with a lot of leaves on them, some of the leaves are falling in the small breeze that seems to becoming from the nearby lake that he happened the past the day before. Taking note of the wind he also starts to walk a bit faster just in case a storm comes.

Having walked for about a hour, Nova starts to feel her claws hurt from constantly digging them into the ground beneath her feet. She knows it can be very tiring traveling on foot but she doesn't want to take the chance of flying and getting spotted by something that could cause trouble. Taking a small break she moves over to some trees for shade and slowly lays down. Looking down at her claws she can see that they are covered in dirt and just raising them above the ground has already cause the pain to subside a bit.

"I wonder how much farther it is to the lake I saw, I don't think it was this far...I hope I'm not lost."

Letting out a small sigh she lifts her noise up to the air and starts to sniff to see if she can pick up on any familiar scents. A few moments later she was able to pick up a scent of a flower which she remembers seeing near the lake she went by. Breathing a sigh of relief that she didn't miss the lake on foot, she decides to wait a few more minutes before continuing on foot.

Its been a few days since he has been in a town but Gawain seemed pretty content sitting up on a thick tree branch. He lays outstretched with his hands behind his head, in the distance from where he is laying he is able to see some town lights that are reflect up against the morning sky. As it becomes brighter out the lights start to dim one by one which causes Gawain's eyes to open slightly. Slowly sitting up he stretches his arms up a bit and lets out a small yawn.

"...................."

He slowly thinks to himself as he looks up and starts to see the stars also disappear with the morning sunrise. After looking in the distance for a few seconds, he jumps down and collects his things that were laying hidden at the base of the tree he was sleeping in.

On a cliff not to far away from a little farm town is a large feather dragon, she seems to be sleeping at the moment. Her large wings are at rest right next to her but at the same time it seems like she is also on alert in case anything approaches her and she doesn't want to interact with it. As the sun hits the dragons face she slowly opens her eyes and stares out at the distance.

"Another quiet night"

She thinks to herself with a small smile on her face, she always liked nights that were quiet and she didn't need to focus on hiding from anything. Her tail swishes a few times, and she stands up stretching her wings and legs. Feeling thirsty she remembers a small lake that she passed by the day before. Slowly turning around she folds her wings to her sides then on foot starts to head in the direction where the lake is.

That is a basic image of what he looks like, however there are a few changes. His eyes are a light blue color. For his clothes, he wears a purple shirt that has an aurora on it. His pants are jean like and are a light grayish color. He wears a long coat that is silver with black outlines on the sleeves. Around his neck hangs a pendant that seems to be in the shape of a feather. Occasionally you will see him also wearing special gloves however he doesn't wear them all of the time. Lastly, his shoes are regular sneakers that are the same color as his coat.

Personality: He is a quiet individual, mostly spending time either wandering or occasionally reading some books that he has with him. He rarely talks to people and most of the time he tries to avoid them as well. When it comes to how he acts, he usually remains calm and seldom loses his cool, even when under a stressful situation. He also has a lot of knowledge of things because of what he has learned while traveling and reading. This has also made him a very observant person as well.

History: There isn't much that Gawain knows about his past, which is mostly why he doesn't have a last name. When he was little he was told by his adopted father that he came to them during a stormy night covered in dirt and crying. His adopted parents didn't know where he came from or how he got there.. So they took care of him and raised him as their own. As he grew up most of his time was spent alone. It was then that he started to practice sword play and eventually started to carry one in case he ever needed it. It was his 18th birthday he decided to leave what he has always known as his home and travel just to get out and see the world that.

From there he left not knowing where to go or what to do about anything and just decided to live life as he saw fit. As he traveled through villages, small towns and very bigger cities he avoided all the people that he could. He would overhear stories of all kinds about dragons and many other things as well. He was quiet and only visited a few shops to get supplies before leaving again. During the nights he would camp out under the stars or sleep in trees staring up at the sky, staring at the stars Gawain always seem to be interested in how they shine, which made him content. So after traveling for 4 years he finally has reached another city to resupply.

Opinion towards Dragons: His opinion has always remained neutral towards dragons, showing neither like or dislike for them. He also has never seen a dragon before either except in some books that he has looked at.

Other: There is some things that are unknown about Gawain, like his sword play, he seemed to pick up on it very fast. Gawain carries around a sword on his back that has a handle made out of silver and it has a two feather dragons etched into the sides of it. It was a sword that he made himself while he was traveling yet he doesn't choose to use it too often.

Appearance: She is a large feather dragon, this makes his appearance somewhat unique because instead of scales she has a feather like fur all over her body and a tail with feathers at the tip of it. Her wings are large, and the color of her fur is a silver color. Looking at her eyes they are a light purple color and she also seems to have a shaded color purple around her claws, the tip of her tail and down the back of her neck.

Personality: She is a silent dragon most of the time, even though she often flies around in the skies high above so that she isn't spotted, she has never really had a conversation with other dragons or humans. This may also be because of her shyness. She does know how to fight but avoids when she can since she doesn't think she is that good.

History: Nova doesn't have much of a past that she likes to speak about. From when she was little she always seemed follow behind other dragons, this dragons were all different sizes and all different kinds though she never saw a lot of them with feathers. Feeling left out she spent a majority of time along but occasionally she found herself talking to other dragons but only for short conversations. It was when she was alone she slowly started to find out she could use the wind in different ways, however she kept silent about it. As time went by more of the dragons has begun to leave setting out on their own paths and soon she knew she would have to as well.

It was a few years later that she decided to start out on her own journey, she had no idea where to go or what to look for but she was curious to see the world that she has only hear stories about. Though her travels weren't all exactly as she hoped they would be, she met many challenges including mean dragons and humans alike, it was then she decided to keep her distance away from areas that had a lot of humans. At the same time she also avoided places that had a lot of dragons as well.

Opinion towards Humans: Avoids them mostly, doesn't show any dislike towards them but because of some past experiences she also doesn't fully trust them. She has seen both good and bad which often confuses her as well.

Other: Nova always found odd was to call upon wind to help her out when she needs it. This either comes from her flapping her wings to even a fire breathing attack that is actually a wind attack. Seeing that most dragons are fire breathing she tries to hide her wind attacks from others.

Rules

Here are some rules to follow to help rping be fun and enjoyable for all members, please be sure the read them over and if you have any questions feel free to contact a rp mod. ^^

~ Follow PokeHeroes rules, you can find them here

~ Avoid God-Modding – God-modding is a term that is used to describe someone who gives their characters too much power and makes them completely unfair in the role play. Examples of this would be, having a overpower character who dodges all attacks and doesn't get hurt at all.

~ Avoid Bunnying – Bunnying is a term where a member takes control of another member’s character so that the storyline goes their way, or they control what that character says or does without that member’s consent to do so. There are special circumstances where a member may give another member permission to use their character which doesn’t count towards bunnying.

~ Follow the rules of individual rps – When rps are created each one has their own set of rules and conditions as well, be sure to follow them closely.

Character Sign ups and the Sign up Section

A new section added in the Roleplaying forum is the RP Sign-up section

To help with keeping the rps organized this section is used for members who want to create rps to open up sign-ups for them instead of having the members sign up in the same thread the rp is in.

So opening up a new rp:

~ Creating a sign up for the rp in the sign-up section

In the sign up you can post the background to your story, the character sign-up form, a list of members in the rp or any other information that you need. There could also be a link to the actual rp when it opens up.

Now since this was newly added it doesn’t affect the rps that are currently opened, however if people would like they could open a sign-up anyways for new members who want to join that specific rp.

~ Opening up your rp thread

Open up your rp thread, to get started with your rp. If you want in the first post you could give a link to the sign up thread in case any other members are interested in joining the rp.

Guidelines:

Be Active - Inactivity is one thing that can hurt rps, so before joining an rp make sure that you have the time to be able to participate.

Write interesting/descriptive posts - When writing your post its good to write multiple sentences that could have a characters actions, feelings, reflections, and other things that paint a clear scene of what's going on. Posting small and uninformative posts could make it difficult to move the storyline along or have other members of the other rp respond to your character.

Look for examples - if you are new to roleplaying look towards other roleplayers who have been rping for awhile. Use their posts as inspirations for your own and to get a good idea of how to set up your own posts.

One important thing is when you are roleplaying to have fun and enjoy it ^_^

I had another suggestion for PokeHeroes, this idea came thinking about Emera Town and then you got different places represented within the town. So I thought about adding another place that then represents the PMs and sort of like a re-design it with some added features or changes.

There was another thread that seems to suggest some PM features that would be nice to add, here

Anyways,

What is Emera Mail Post?

I haven't come up with another name yet, but the Emera Mail Post is the place in Emera Town that handles all of your PMs that move throughout the site. You can think of it like a mailing place where people can receive and view their PMs, and then also reply to messages they receive as well.

How would the Emera Mail Post be set up?

This could be a bit difficult to explain without any images to show but I will try my best.

When you first go to Emera Mail it will link you to your PMs, on this page it will be set up in a horizontal fashion, sort of like email would be. You would have a small envelope next to each message title, and if the envelope is closed it means that message has yet to be opened, and if the envelope is open it means the message has already been viewed. Up at the top it will give you the option to write a new message, delete, and save,

Explanation of the options:

Writing a new message - You can open up to a new layout. The new layout will have first who you are sending the message to (adding a feature that allows you to send one message to more than one person). Below that you have the message title, and then a text box that allows you to type in your PM.

Note: now this is optional this is just something to add visually but I was think that in the preview and when the message is sent it shows up in a parchment-like image. I think this would represent the message system good since you kinda think that message are delivered by Pelipper or other bird Pokemon.

Deleting existing messages - right next to each message there would be a checkbox and when the checkbox is selected and you click delete it will delete the selected message or messages.

Save existing messages - This option like the delete, except if you save a message it doesn't get deleted but moved to a saved section for the PMs,

What is the saved PM section?

~ its set up like the regular PM page but you can put messages here to save them from being deleted and it removes them from the main PM page so that don't risk getting deleted by accident.

Now that is all the ideas I have for how the Emera Mail Post is set up, if anyone else wants to add ideas let me know.

Reply to messages

How would you send reply messages?

Replying messages would kinda be set up the same way they are now, you will be able to click the message title and then it opens up the message, you will have the most recent message in the conversation in the parchment image, and then below that you will have the text box to write the reply and then below that the messages history (sort of like the way its set up now). Also once you respond, the reply button and text box stays there so you can send another reply even if the first once hasn't been responded to.

How will reply messages appear?

When you receive a reply to an existing message the envelope next to the message title will be closed again, this lets you know that there is a message in the conversations that you haven't viewed yet.

Suggestions on features and changes for PMs

Features/changes to the PMs?

Some new features that could be made with the PMs:

~ Adding a delete/remove option

This would be good for cleaning out messages and removing them so you don't have a long list of old message piling up

~ Save Option

To save messages that you don't want to delete

~ Multiple replies

Option that allows you to reply to a message from one member more than once without having to send a new one.

~ Being able to send a message to multiple members

Being able to type more than one member in the send to text box separated by a comma "," to send one message to more than one member.

~ Blocking members from sending you messages

Being able to block a member from sending you messages (maybe add a block list)

~ Report button

This would help with reports, if you click the report button that particular message will be reported to staff.

Will the envelope notification that appears when you get a new message still show up?

Yes that little envelope that appears at the top when you get a new message will still appear and when you click on it, it will redirect you to where your PMs are.

Another idea I had while typing about the envelope notification question would be to have it set up the same way as the regular notifications are. Say if someone is offline and then come back online and the envelope shows up there would be a number showing how many new messages they have gotten since they last checked their PMs. This number would only appear if the member has 2 or more new messages in their box. I believe that this would be optional because its something that doesn't necessary need to be added but I thought I would mention it as a suggested idea.

Pros and Cons

Pros

~ More features added to help members manage their PMs better
~ Easier to keep PMs organized
~ Opens PMs for more ideas

Cons

~ It might be difficult to reformat how the PMs are sent or how they show up, (I really don't know how this is set up already, so I'm not really sure how difficult it would be to redesign everything for it.)

Conclusion

Now I know this suggestion gives the impression of completely redesigning the way PMs are displayed and such, however it doesn't necessary mean you need to add a new section to Emera Town called Emera Mail Post. I just thought it would be great to somehow connect PM messages to Emera somehow and also open up possibilities to expanding Emera Town in different ways.

I also tried my best to explain how I pictured it could be set up like, I hope that it isn't too confusing for anyone, and if there are any questions you are welcome to ask.

When looking at this suggestion I can see some pros and cons to it.

Pros

~ It could help make notifications pop instead of being plain
~ Gives users more options on how to display certain things, also creativity.

Cons

~ Some chances of users spamming their notification feeds with different pictures (this could cause problems as stated above with lag on some computers)
~ Large photos posted, this could have a possibility of happening if there aren't any default size set for when someone posts a photo in their feed, it could stretch the page.

Alternative

~ There also have been people posting how there is an alternative to image or photo sharing, like with clickable links that then directed you towards the image that is uploaded on a image sharing site. I see nothing wrong with something like this, it just opens it up in a different window or tab.

So while I see it as something that could make feeds and stuff pop more, I also don't see it as a necessary thing to be added since there is good alternative to sharing pictures through links in the feed.
