The chain-chomp seemed incredibly irritated by the compliments. It squinted, letting out a confused snap of its jaws before doing the same to Ping. Ping tilted his head and threw it into the air, causing it to fade away.

“I learnt how to do that from a manga. The same friend used to read those so much when we were together.

Chompy doesn’t like me bringing him out all the time, which is probably why he’s grumpy. He… tends to be like that all the time, though.”

Ping grinned at the thought of his friend, only to have his smile slowly fade as reality set in. He shook his head, glancing at Valeria.

“A-Ah, my name is Ping!”

He bowed for a brief second.

“It’s a delight that our paths have crossed, and yeah, my friend… she loved things like these.”

He lifted his hand up, summoning a chain-chomp into his hands. It looked at his with a tired expression, seemingly annoyed that it had been teleported to Ping without notice.
