"Whiteleap? But Shadedfur killed the badger!" Yowled Rosepetal, who was crouched beside her sister. The white she-cat was usually very soft spoken and polite, unless it involved her sister.

Shadedfur sat up and stared at her leader, anger bubbled in her belly and pinned her ears back. A cat who abandoned his clan was going to become their deputy?! "Are you sure he's the right choice Flintstar?" She killed a badger for her clan and she was not only being passed up as deputy, but as a mentor as well! She spat her frustration, her tail thrashing back and forth.

	Shadedfur tucked her paws under her chest and shifted a little closer to her leader. She didn't speak, now wasn't the time for it. Instead she simply rested her nose in the fallen warrior's pelt and prayed to Starclan for their safe travel to the stars. [Read more]

"And Flintstar?" She reeked of badger death when she touched her nose gently to her leader's cheek. "Forgive me. I was too slow." When she pulled away the small cat padded over to the fallen body of her old deputy and buried her nose in her fur. "You guided us well, Foxstep. Run with Starclan now."

Rosepetal squeezed out from the nursery with a gasp, stumbling out of the entrance. Her kitting would be soon...

The white queen waddled her way over to Fallenkit and let out a wail. No kit should ever die this way. "My kits will not share your fate little one. Please, watch over them from Starclan."

"Flintstar," Shadedfur mewed softly as she limped to her leader. The bleeding was thankfully slowing down. "I know that this is a grave time, but we should consider sending out a few cats, just to be sure the badger was alone. A hungry badger might attack the camp." Her eyes fell on the nursery with Rosepetal just sticking her head out, eyes wide and sad.

((is it okay that Shadedfur kinda wants to befriend Whiteleap after their battle against the badger? XD))

	((Badger attack, whiteleap and Shadedfur fought it off. Shadedfur killed it, but not before the badger killed flintstar, Foxstep, and Fallenkit. They're all back at camp I believe.)) [Read more]

With the 'pleasantries' out of the way Fox left the dining hall and took a turn into the near by forest. Once out of sight Fox pulled a pack from her pocket and set a cigarette between her lips. Lucky made quick work of lighting it before he was set down on the ground. "Alright guys," she started, a billow of smoke coming from her lips. "We haven't had many double battles, so we'll need to train hard. That means you two Hawkins, get down." The Eevee voiced it's distaste but hopped onto the ground beside the growlithe.

"Your helping hand is gonna win us matches Hawkins, and Lucky your flare blitze is an ace in the hole. I doubt any pokemon here could take more than one. But you'll need to be careful with the recoil damage."

Shadedfur tried not to look at the fallen clan mates as they were carried across the camp. She had avenged their deaths, killing the badger but... Glory was not worth any cat's life. She needed to see the medicine cat about her still bleeding leg, but for now she sat to clean the badger's blood from her fur.

She wasn't clean, but the blood no longer clumped her fur and the small she cat moved to follow after Whiteleap and Ice-face. "Whiteleap!" She called, trotting over to her clan mates. She was limping but held her head high with dignity. "I'm sorry I couldn't help you bring them home."

"Right, I'm coming," she mewed. Her back leg was starting to scream now that the battle fury was slowly waring off. With one more glance at her fallen foe the she-cat bounded after Whiteleap, leaving a trail of blood behind her as her leg wound oozed. With great effort she caught up to Whiteleap. "I can't smell anything over the scent of badger, could you tell which cats you scented?"

The lumbering beast followed after its prey. Despite the pain of claws and teeth the agony of hunger was worse. Beady black eyes set on Flintstar, the cat that struggled to get up after one blow. Surely it was the easiest catch.

Still clutched to the badger's back Shadedfur let out a muffled cry of warning before the creature charged at her leader. The deadly teeth sunk into the grey fur, ripping flesh as Flintstar was lifted into the air and shaken to and fro.

The small she-cat screeched in rage and jumped forward, clinging to it's head and ripping her claws over it's eyes. The badger howled in pain, the leader flying in the air before landing with a thud. Shadedfur continued to tear at its eyes, pulling screeches from the animal below her.

The badger tossed her off, rearing on it's hind legs and swiping. Despite the new gash running down the inside of her hind leg Shadedfur landed on her feet. This was her element, her calling. She couldn't hunt and her social skills were under sub par, but here, in the fight, she was the best. The badger turned to stumble away, trying to wipe the blood from its eyes.

"Oh no," she hissed. "You're not going anywhere." With a battle cry Shadedfur streaked across the grass to jump and bite into it's neck with all her strength tasting blood on her tongue. She kicked into wiry fur but with one heavy thrash the creature shook her off.

Shadedfur hit the ground hard before the badger's blood soaked her fur. It stumbled a few steps before collapsing while Shadedfur stood with a sense of deep satisfaction.

The badger stumbled from the blow, shaking it's striped head from side to side to push away the stars. "Starclan, guide my paws," Shadedfur mewed softly before she took off towards the creature. She moved in a shadowy blur as she streaked across the ground to leap. She landed on the badger's back and curled her claws into the thick, stinky pelt.

It roared again as the small she-cat bit down on it's scruff and kicked out with her hind paws, sending fur and blood flying. Deadly claws were swiped at Whiteleap as it thrashed two and fro.

When Whiteleap moved away the creature set its gaze on Flintstar and charged for her, Shadedfur clinging tightly to it's back.

"Snowflank, take her into the trees!" She added to Whiteleap's command. Thankful she hadn't taken a dip in the stream to weigh her fur down, the small she-cat stretched out her claws and lowered her head, the fur along her spine raising in aggression.

The creature looked wounded, a bite on it's hind leg, maybe a fox or a dog. However the wound didn't slow the beast down, in fact the pain and hunger so clear in it's eyes had it running faster than any lumbering badger she'd seen before. It's hungry gaze fell on Whiteleap and it roared before meeting him halfway through the charge, his massive maw clamping down to try and catch him by the tail and swing the warrior off to the side and into a tree.

"Finally." The red head sighed in relief of her boredom. "Do you plan on staying up there the whole time?" The Eevee on her shoulders mumbled a soft 'Vee~', his eyes closing as if to fall asleep. "Lazy little..." Fox rolled her eyes but she was smiling nonetheless. She loved the little bugger.

"Ugh, we have to share a room?" Her and Lucky met eyes when she looked down at the pup in her arms. They shared an expression of distaste before Fox made her way to the front. "Let's just get this over with... I need a cigarette." The last bit was mumbled low under her breath.
