Jin was quite proud of being so fluent in demon. "Maailma on pimeä paikka, Melez. Opin tehdä ... neuvottelut." He smiled again playfully before sitting up. "Anyway. I know quite a bit that you would probably surprised by." The world outside had again gone dark and Jin felt a little better knowing a bit more. He listened carefully. Angel was mom, and dad was a demon. He nodded before leaning back against the wall. Well at least she is not afraid to ask. "Well I don't like to watch someone die. So I wasn't gonna just let you wander the streets and die when I knew I could help." He looked down at Melez smiling again his eyes bright with mischief.
What would she say. You know what I guess we will just roll with it. "En ole koskaan sanonut olin ihminen." The world's rolled off his tongue in the way that the demons language did.

Jin waved her off dismissing her talk of being a burden. Honestly he didn't care as long as she cooked. "I'm a grown.... being and I can clean myself." He smiled. "Though I accept your offer of you cooking as payment for you staying here, as for messes, as long as my plants are fine." He looked outside to see a particularly large shadow wandering the street besides a lamp post. He sat down on the wooden bench beneath the window and leaned against the wall stretching out his long legs. Now what? Jin wasn't sure if he wanted to just go to sleep or do anything else. If he were really honest Jin wanted to go and stretch his wings. Fly around outside of town maybe. Though now it was to late and he certainly wasn't stupid enough to go out with those shadows roaming around.
"Melez. What .... um I mean.... why don't you tell me a little about yourself? Or if you have any questions for me?" He crossed his arms behind his head looking completely relaxed. "It might be good for me to know a little more about you. Or vice versa." He held up his left hand. "I promise I won't laugh, or lie. So be careful what you ask."

He was still unfazed as Melez got up and began to walk to the door. With his superior height he took three steps and stood in front of the door. Arms outstretched he looked down at Melez seeing all sorts of emotion running along in her face. He crossed his arms over his chest.
"Not a chance. If you want to leave you will either have to beat me in a fight which I really dont want or you will have to wait until the sun is up and the Shadows are hiding. I may not be someone who can help you with your family problems..." He paused a moment thinking over his words carefully. "Though in this house you have a better chance then anywhere else at this time. Besides its now pitch black out there."
He reached a hand out placing it on her good shoulder before smiling that contented and lazy smile. "Oh and now you have to teach me that recipe. Plus I've got a few safeguards up around the house. Those shadows can't even come close. Or other demon." He looked off towards the window. "Though angels.... I don't have any guards for... they are pretty much immune to anything but demon blood." He let his hand fall from her shoulder and reached up to shake his hair out moving into the living room as he tied it back up. "Should we be worried about angels too?"

Jin watch Melez prepare the meal even putting out napkins. His stomach growled in anticipation. For the first time Melez saw Jin with his hair down. Which he often didn't do anyway. His face framed in the soft and slightly wet blond hair. He smiled and sat down at the table trying to be a bit polite. Though as he got closer to the food he could barely stand it. He licked his lips and made nice about using his utensils as he poured the curry over the rice and mixed it together. As he ate he made soft noises of approval. As he finished off his plate he smiled at Melez a wide toothy smile. "I have not had something so good in a very long time." He was still smiling as he got up grabbing the two small loaves of bread that he had made slicing them up and using them as napkins to wipe up the rest of the curry and rice. Which he promptly ate. Finally satisfied he looked at Melez. It was time to be a bit more serious. "Melez. I thank you dearly for the food, but I gotta ask... are the shadows that showed up here last night looking for you?"

Jin was still throwing knives into the tree stump. He felt better then he had in a while. The stump, looked like it had gone through the shredder and come out barely intact. A large chunk now missing from the center of the battered tree stump.
He gathered his throwing knives sitting down on another of the many stumps around and began meticulously cleaning and putting them back into the case. The sun was beginning to set and as he pit his knives away in the chest outside he saw a shadow moving around waiting for the darkness. Jin was now sweaty and starving. His stomach letting out a dull roar as he walked back to the front of the house.
A's he opened the door he immediately began to salivate. The smells coming from what he could only imagine the kitchen. He walked inside following the dizzying scent to find Melez standing at the sink fresh and clean, cleaning the dishes again. He looked down at himself and groaned running off into the bathroom where seeming the water used, dumped it quickly filling it with the now ice cold water left over and bathed quickly. Unting his hair and washing the blond locks. When he was finished he dumped his own water and went to the bathroom sink shaving with a small dagger he kept on the counter before almost running into Melez as he made his way back I.to the kitchen. "Dios mio. That smells fricken fantastic!"

Jin watched the girl leave and left the smile slowly drift from his face as he caught a shadow over beside a tree flinch as the suns light reached it. He was sure of a few things. The house would need to be tripled in the protection if his guest stayed again. Something gently nagging at the edge of his mind and as he reached for it, it was gone.
He left the house carrying a basket of herbs grabbed in tight bundles. He began to chant low and quietly. He took his trowel and dug holes at the five northern points of his home. In the bottom of the basket was Melezs bloodied and torn shirt. He carefully removed the garment and stood by the door removing the dry blood from where the wound was. He now took the little bit of drown dirt like substance and sprinkled it carefully along the door frame. She won't even know the barriers up. He smiled to himself before pulling out a hit from his ponytail and burying it in front of the doorway. Careful to make it look undisturbed. Then he went around a few more times before going out to his back yard and practicing throwing daggers into a dead stump he painted into a target. Scoring the center every time.

Jin looked at Melez and stared his green eyes hiding something. "No its fine if you do you'll reopen your wound. Besides I went to all that trouble of drawing you up a bath and you weren't gonna use it?" When he had been watering the plants he had picked up his sword and now had it strapped to his back. Causing the tank top to be pulled tight against his chest. Up close she would be able to see the tattoo of roses on his arm now without his jacket. He smiled putting a warm hand on her good shoulder. "Besides you promised me dinner."

Jin did as Melez did. Pushing his eggs on his toast and eating it quickly. Breakfast went on in relative silence till he put his plate in the sink and grabbed the watering can. He moved through the house with an eerie efficiency as he watered and checked the plants. He had done it so many times now it was second nature. Water, check for rot or something good to eat, then turn the plant.
He finished with the plants on the large bay window in the living room. There were all manner of vegetable plants there. As he set the watering can down he began to pick a few good one. Green beans, bell peppers, and cucumbers. As h picked the cucumber he saw his mother bent over the garden picking some sort of veggie. She turned to him and smiled. He couldn't remember her face. Though as he smiled back he realized he was smiling at the veggies in his hands.
Why was he getting all sentimental? He walked into the kitchen putting the veggies in the sink his hands on either side of the basin. He was getting irritated. Maybe it was the cold. Maybe he was just getting to that point where everything he'd bottled up was about to erupt. Even so he really wanted to know more about the half demon now sharing his bathroom... no his home. Not a home... just a house in which I live. After I wash up maybe I'll go find something to cut up... Then he cursed some pretty colorful curses in the demons tongue.

Jin finished watering the plants in the kitchen snatching another mint leaf and munching on it as the smell of toast and eggs began to permeate the house. He walked over to the sink besides Melez and poured more into the watering can. "I slept good, had a weird dream."
He sat down at the table setting the full watering can in front of him before getting back up again and grabbing a couple of plates down from the cupboards. Jin set the plates down and went off down the hallway pouring the now boiling water into the tub adding enough to fill it halfway before coming back into the kitchen. "After we eat I have the tub ready... though you should check the water before getting in." Is that weird? Maybe its the nerves of wanting to be a good host...

"Well I bought eggs the other day and I made bread. If you know how to burn it slightly that would be fine." He glanced to the window above the sink and got up pouring a bucket of water into a watering can. It was weird having a house guest. A half angel and demon at that. I wonder what she was talking about rumors last night. He was zoning out again as he watered the big plant in the center of the table. "Did you sleep well Melez?"

(Hahaha I think they are gonna be short for a little bit now.)

As soon as Jin fell to his bad he wrapped himself in his blanket and fell asleep almost instantly. He was standing on the edge of a cliff his father ready to push him off a great big smile on his face. Jin could feel the anxiety coming from the younger body he was now inhabiting. He took a step towards the edge and felt some of his foot hit air. He was at the very edge.
"It's alright Jin you will be just fine turn around and fly." That's what he did. He turned shivering as the cold air hit his bare chest as he closed his eyes and fell forward.
He woke up with a start. He hadn't had a dream about flying. Ever. He was on his back and staring at the ceiling. Bright light filtering in through the slightly parted curtains. He rubbed his for head getting up. He took off his clothes tossing them into a basket by his closet and pulling of a white top which he promptly put back away in favor of a bark blue one.
Pulling on jeans he left heading for bathroom, starting a fire to warm the water he kept in there. Then he was off to the kitchen yawning softly and chewing a mint leaf he plucked on the way.

Jin was already walking away leaving the door open as he entered the other room giving only the slightest glimpse as he got in and came back out with a smaller white towel. "My towel is in the bathroom. It's blue." He held it out to her be fire disappearing into the living room coming back with his sword which he promptly slides into the room still keeping the door mostly shut. "Most of the herbs are edible other then the big one on the table. If you're not sure either ask or leave it alone." He smiled once again. "Oh and one more thing. Under no circumstances are you to go into my room."
He leaned against the hallway wall looking into the room Melez would be using. Wonder how long it will be till she is healed. "As for food I ate at the pub. I'm gonna head to bed now... Rest well and try not to worry to much." With that he turned and went into his room.

Jin was looking into the amber eyes of his house guest. His emerald greens reflected slightly if he really looked. "Cooking would be nice." He smiled delight flickering in his eyes. "I can make a few things but not much. As for helping you..." He paused and thought it over a moment. "I don't know." Was his reply.
It was getting late and Jin yawned covering his mouth with his hand before turning away. "Let me show the rest of the homestead." He chuckled softly walking into the living room another small hallway visible. More plants and more books. In the hallway there was barely enough room for Jin to walk through. On one end a door and the other end two doors. "You'll have to clear the room a bit I've been storing things in it." He opened the door on the right. There were books all along the walls and the bed. The bed was a small twin with blue cotton covers. A small closet and desk on the other wall. "Sorry there is no window."
He moved out of the way letting Melez pass into the room. "The only thing I ask is for you to tell me when you leave. K?"

Jin smiled and set the book down besides him as he looked over to Melez. "Nice name. As for a bed... I don't know." He teased crossing one level over the other. "Oh what the heck sure. You can stay." Jin uncrossed his legs and walked back over to Melez. "You want to know where the bathroom is? I can bring in some water for you." He glanced out the window and shuddered. No one in there right mind would go out tonight.
Jin thought about the last time he saw a shadow. He was wandering around along the road from his town. At first he thought it was just another guy from the village but as he drew closer the temperature began to drop around the black figure. Jin thought it strange but kept on the road. Then as he went to walk passed it the shadow reached out the cloak flowing around him like a cloud. Jon stood frozen staring into the inky blackness before hearing a raspy voice in his head. You should have died. Master won't be pleased. The word were drawn out and chilled him to the bones as the shadow disappeared.
Jin was still staring out the window looking thoughtful. "If you do just let me know." His voice had a barest hint of cracking as he started, finishing off strong.

He stood up and stretched momentarily rolling his shoulders. When he looked to the table the girl was hobbling off to the living room, a twenty on the table. He took it. Rumors? What in the world is she going on about? Jin followed behind her grabbing the sword, not making a sound till he was behind her.
Things were moving around outside. Shadows. He leaned forward slightly coming to stand beside the girl. "I wouldn't go out there... unless you don't mind shadows." Jin looked down at the girl and slid the twenty back into her pocket. "Not my choice though."
He turned around heading into the living area picking up one of the many books as he sat on a wooden bench and began pretending to read after setting his sword against the wall beside him. Maybe... she'd be less weird if I told her I wasn't human... Oh what if those shadows are here for her. If they going out there would be akin to suicide. He looked at her still staring at the window. "Hey by the way my name is Jin."

Jin moved to stop the girl from putting on the blood encrusted clothes. "I wouldn't wear those. They are. ... disgusting." That was a word he didn't use to often. He pushed a clean black tank top he had laid out closer to her. "If you wear those you might cause unwanted attention." As he sat back he slowly finished his cup of tea. Purposefully taking a long time to avoid making a comment about being called a human. Sure he was mostly but to him he could care less.
He got up and wandered back to the fire and the boiling water making a new cup of tea. As he went to put in a small herb bag he knocked into something wrapped in a soft looking red blanket. Which promptly fell to the floor his blood red sword coming free of the sheathe and blanket. Cursing under his breathe he bent to start putting it back away. "So.... you're um... like demon and Angel huh? I think that's pretty cool." Oh great he was blabbering now. What more could he do? This was becoming more awkward by the minute. Jin took the utmost care as he finished tying the sword back up and laying it down by the wall. "Uh... if you want you can stay tonight and go shopping for whatever you need tomorrow. I'm sure you're exhausted and pretty weak from that blood loss... "

Jin shrugged and sipped at his drink and sat in the only other chair. He reached over the table and shut the case pushing it against the pot of the plant. "You should probably put that shirt on till you can get a new one. I'm sure you don't want, " He paused. He might have been zoned out when he was stitching her up but being as tall as he was he had seen what she was hiding. "Rumors getting spread out there." She had wings like him.... though he had taken some very painful precautions, he thought she was a demon now he was unsure.
Leaning back he reached up and took a drink of his tea. He looked up towards the ceiling his bright emerald green eyes tracing the faint lines running along it and yawned. It had been a long day. He closed his eyes. An angel and demon? A half or... something like him. A little bit one and a whole lot of another. "You know, I won't say anything..."

Jin was starting to get irritated. The longer this went on the more blood she was going to loose. She was stubborn and though admirable this wasn't the time. She was trying his patience.
He dipped the needle in the mixture and moved away crushing something in a dull grey powder that he poured into the water mixture before he turned to the girl. His patience gone. He started pulling the trench coat off of her careful not to aggravate the wound further. He turned a bit towards the kit and stirred the needle around a bit in the mixture.
Marshmallow root... what a silly name for a plant. He was starting to think of the past again. Lying in a pool of blood some his own and most the slain demons. He couldn't move, just the thought caused him pain. Jin closed his eyes. When he opened them again he was blinded by a bright light. He was neither cold or hot and he couldn't feel anything. Am I dead? Then he'd tried to move. Sharp stabbing pain in his chest nearly blinding him with the pain. No he definitely was not dead.
He was standing in front of the bucket near the counter wiping the blood from his hands. As he turned to look at the girl she was stitched up and bandaged almost professionally one of his clean shirts lying on the table. He stood there a bit dumbfounded. He turned again and began to make more boiling water pouring it into two cups. Putting a few herbs into a paper like bag before putting it into the cups and bringing it to the table. "How are you feeling. ...?"

As he set the med kit down he saw the girls face. Pale to pale. Jin opened the med kit and began to rummage throughout the contents. A few surgical utensils, a whole lot of gauze, bandages, string... anything you could ask for in a travel med kit and then some. Gleaming and pristine ready for the next use.
Then he heard the girl speak. Saying she could do it herself. It wasn't hard to understand where she was coming from. Who wanted some stranger you just met see you at one of your most vulnerable states. Bleeding and in so much pain you could hardly begin to describe it. He knew that all too well. Jin pulled out the string and a needle absently stringing it. Setting it down he turned and went to the sink grabbing a clean washcloth and a container of water pouring it into a small metal dish before working on starting a fire.
Yes he knew the wish to tend to your own wounds well. As he set the dish over the flames he began to think of the last time he was injured. It was almost two years ago when the demons came to his home town. They tore everything apart and left everyone screaming or burning alive in their homes. He was just coming home from a fishing trip, a pole and basket of fish tied to his back, and a ruby red blade.
He saw the fire and quickly got rid of the pole and fish running into the fight. He was quick with his kills. Finishing off several before he felt a pain in his chest. An arrow running him through and staying there.
He pulled the now boiling water off setting it beside the kit on the table adding some more water from the nearby container. "Don't be an idiot. Take your clothes off and let me help you before you pass out and I have to do it by man handling you."
