You are (insert name here), a peasant living in a small village in the kingdom of Larion. You have a pitchfork and nothing else. You dream of getting out of your village and having an adventure. You go to your fields and begin working. You look up and see a great beast. It is a humongous black dragon. It lands in your fields and begins breathing fire on your crops. You wake up, terrified. You run back to your house and quickly pack a few things. You grab your family and pets and decide to leave. You run out of your house, but the dragon is breathing fire on your house and it is engulfed in flames. You scream, but no one can hear you. The next morning, you find out that your house has been destroyed and all your family and pets are dead.
You are now a very unhappy peasant and are convinced that the dragon is your bad luck. Every night, you hear it breathing fire on you, burning your crops. You dream of killing the dragon or trying to flee the country. You don't have the money to do either. You live this life for years, serving the king of Larion.
Then one day, a large group of peasants ask the king for help to kill the dragon. The king agrees, but only if it doesn't involve the kingdom of Marbeth. The king of Larion, however, doesn't listen to reason. So, these peasants revolt and kill their king. The next morning, they march to the palace and demand that the king of Marbeth give them weapons to kill the dragon. The king of Marbeth refuses, but gives them horses and a few weapons. The peasants kill the guards at the gates and begin looting the palace.
The next day, the dragon comes back and breathes fire on the city, killing dozens of people and burning down half the city. The king of Marbeth is afraid the dragon will kill him, so he flees the city, taking the princess with him. The dragon chases them to a nearby mountain where they hide. The peasants revolt again. The king of Marbeth refuses to give anyone more weapons, but he doesn't stop them either because he fears the dragon.
Soon, the dragon finds them and breathes fire on them.
