Mira watched as Therese illuminated the field, she had never seen such a thing. She stared in awe until it was cut short by the hat skidding to a stop at her feet. Mira tried to gently pick up the hat but dropped it quickly after getting shocked. After a second of leaving it alone she picked it up again and walked towards Therese, “That was almost as incredible.. I’ve never seen anything like it” She said shyly while extending the hat back to Therese.

Mira was snapped away from her book as a ball of light could barely be seen from her window. It was coming from the practice field, she didn’t exactly have anything to do and training would take her kind off some things. She got dressed in her clothes she used to train and put makeup on before slinking out of her dorm room. ‘Surely the professors wouldn’t mind’ she thought to herself while walking on the cool grass. As she approached the magic field, she walked slowly because she wanted to see who was training. Peeking her head around a bush she observed Therese.

“That would be great, I appreciate it” Mira said to Thalia with a warm smile before waving and leaving for her dorm per the request of the teachers. Upon arriving back she opened her windows and let the dim sunlight illuminate her room. She washed off the makeup on her face, revealing her mark then plopped onto her bed. She started to read a book and zone out. The sound of whistling calmed her as she flipped through the pages of her book. This was the last thing she had left of her old kingdom, it contained pictures of her and her family, along with the history of their nation. It pained her to look at but she needed to have this knowledge.

Mira’s face flushed as she realized her mistake, “That illusion is so well created. That mage must be very skilled” she said while trying to cover up her mistake. Her mood was quickly changed by the announcement of the earth elemental, she clenched her fist and bit her lip. She was lucky to have two other elements but earth being gone affected her tremendously as it was her strongest. “I knew something was up, I’ve barely been able to use it for a bit” she said quietly to Thalia. Her expression had a mix of sorrow and anger.

	Mira listened to Thalia respectfully while waiting for the boy to show his magic, she was blown away by the results. “I’ve heard about the wind spirit in old children’s tales but this is crazy” she said to herself while moving to get a better look. 	Mira found herself in a trance watching the display of archery. It didn’t take an archer to know what she did was impressive, and at such a young age as well. Mira nodded, “Yes I’ve been told that a few times, never met another who has them both as well. They’re quit-“ Mira got cut off by the Kings entrance and she immediately bowed. Witnessing them come in is a sight that most people never get to see, and she didn’t wanna mess it up. After standing up she listened to Thalia, “Sadly animals aren’t too fond of me. I’ve never had a pet” she whispered with an embarrassed expression.

“My name is Klause Morteum” he said while extending his hand towards Kynik. “Nice to meet you, I look forward to studying alongside you” he said with a smile. Hearing the King come in he bowed and waited to show respect.

Mira’s facial expression changed. Her eyes glimmered with curiosity and awe, “Air, darkness, and energy?? You have three? I see, such an interesting mix” she said while nodding. In a way she was nerding out, learning about new mages and their magic’s was something she took a bit too seriously. “Yes I am studying to be a mage as well, and my elements are water, fire, and earth” she said with a proud smile. “I would love to see your magic sometime if you don’t mind?” Mira asked Thalia.

Klause overheard some discussion next to him, “Wouldn’t be surprised if they did, almost everyone would want a chance to see the king in person” he chimed in without realizing.

Mira nodded gently while Thalia fixed her hair, “My day has been a bit hectic but good. You can probably tell but beauty isn’t my strong suit” she said with a slight snicker. After Thalia was done she took out a small hand mirror and gazed at her hair, “This is so pretty, I love it.” She said while examining the new hair and the brooch. “Thank you so much, I’m in your debt” she said politely to Thalia. “What are you studying here?” She asked while trying to make more conversation.

Klause had made his way inside the hall and greeted other students while walking through. He wasn’t exactly sure where to go but he didn’t want to stand out in the crowd, he slinked towards the edge of the hall and stood next to Kynik. He towered over him even though he was hunched, and fiddled with his earrings.

Mira had put on her grey dress and made her way to the hall, waiting for the meeting to start. Looking at the ground and silently tapping her feet nervously she was taken by surprise when someone interacted with her. She looked up and scanned Thalia, her dress was absolutely gorgeous and made Mira’s look like a burlap sack in comparison. “Greetings” Mira said with an awkward bow, this was a default since almost everyone she met was a noble or even royalty.

Mira was preparing herself to look presentable for the King. She had a hard time combing her hair, it fought her with every pull of the comb and made her scalp burn from the pain. This struggle carried on until her head ached and her hair was straight, which looked good with her formal attire. It wasn’t anything special, just a dress that was clean. Brushing her face with white makeup to cover up her face mark she stared happily into the mirror at what she had done.

Klause had managed to put on his only “nice” piece of clothing as he got ready. With his build, it was very hard for him to wear normal clothes, or get any nice ones for that matter. So for his clothes he chose his casual attire with was actually pretty formal as it was. He was used to these clothes since he wore them most of the time with his family when they had to be doctors for royalty. He slowly came out of his room and made his way towards the meeting.

Klause gingerly approached the injured bird and picked it up, making sure not to touch the wing. Stepping away from the bush and sitting down near the edge of the lake, he put the bird down close to him. Taking a deep breath, he cast a simple healing spell, then amplified it with his self magic. A bubble of water appeared and floated towards the bird, slowly it sank into the wing and a dim green light illuminated the wing. Small pops could be heard as the bones sealed back together and cuts on the wing were healed. Klause took a breath of relief as the bird happily flew away. He was lucky the wing was only fractured, or else that would have taken a lot of energy away from him.

Mira had headed away from the group and towards the direction of the dorms, specifically the magic field. She was interested in testing the training grounds, since she would spend a good amount of time there while she was here. She expected just a plain field but was surprised when she walked through a thick layer of vegetation. She rubbed her hand along the vegetation while entering the magic field. It felt welcoming, but also dangerous.

Klause had made it a ways away from the infirmary and was closer to the group. Walking by the edge of the water, he noticed a duck laying in a shrub. He approached it carefully and discovered it had a broken wing. “It’ll be okay, let me see that” he whispered while slowly inching closer to the duck.

Mira bowed and then shook Samton’s hand, “I look forward to working with you all this year. I’m honored to be working with someone or the Goldenbach name” she said while pulling her hand back.

Klause waves goodbye to the nurses in the infirmary as he leaves, he had been lucky and found a place where he could also study medicine. These last two days he had managed to accidentally skip class because he slept too late. He was informed by a teacher that next time that happened he would face punishment. Klause watched the water as he walked away from the infirmary, his shoes making an awkward clank on the wooden walkway.

Mira followed Kynik’s hand as he pointed towards the dorms, “I see, thank you very much” she said while she eyed the buildings up and down. Her expression had not changed, but she was feeling happy because the dorms looked very welcoming. She snapped out of daydreaming when Kynik asked her a question, “Ah yes, my travels were delayed on the way here. So I wasn’t able to arrive on time or for orientation” she sighed.

After scanning the map, Mira had decided she wanted to go to the dorms and specifically the magic field. Even though it was her first day and she should be settling in, training helped relax her. This wasn’t too easy for her, as she wasn’t the best with directions. She continued walking and found herself a few feet from Thalia, Samton, and Kynik. She waited politely to ask for directions and to not intrude on the conversation.

Mira had found herself stumbling out of the inn she had stayed in the night previous as she made her way to the academy. She wasn’t the biggest fan of large gatherings and for this reason she was coming a little late to skip the entrance ceremony. It seemed the meeting had dispersed a bit when arrived, so she started to walk through the s academy. Navigation wasn’t her strong suit and so she had to rely on a map to give herself somewhat of a tour. She found herself walking along the lake while having her face deep in the map.
