Hmm, it's hard to pin a Pokémon for Mettaton, as there's no robot like Pokémon. You could take a pink/red ghost type Pokémon. Or you could take a pink, feminine-looking Pokémon.
Me personally, I think a shiny Delcatty fits Mettaton. Pretty, elegant, and pink. I actually caught a shiny Skitty recently, and was disappointed when realising it was male. Maybe I'll name it Mettaton.

Hey guys, some amazing person has taken all of the black and white battle sprites and made them in full colour and it looks glorious
Here's the download link, just follow the simple instructions. It even tells you how to make a back-up, so you'll have one game in black and white and another in colour.
Please note this is a mod. It does NOT contain the full game. If you are against modding your game, don't download.
Also note it only works for V1.001!

Just thought I'd share this, as some people prefer colour, and it looks really nice ;0
~~Apologies if it's against the rules to post a mod, I feel it's safe as it's not the actual game so you'd still need to pay ;w;~~

I'll likely stream a no-hit speedrun with this glorious colour mod!

I would say Power of NEO would be my favourite if only it was longer, I can image Battle Against A True Hero in the rock/techno style and much yes from me. But Death by Glamour is my favourite because I like the techno style. My other favourites, in no particular order, are ASGORE, An Ending (that song always gets me to tears unffff), Ruins theme, Hotland theme, Your Best Nightmare + Finale, Hopes and Dreams, Metal Crusher...

Also, I have been practicing my bullet dodging skills against Asgore for a bandage+stick no-hit pacifist run...
It's not a no-hit battle, but it was an item-less battle!
Now I know this screenshot only shows I survived on 1HP and doesn't prove I didn't use items, but I actually used a little program to send me right outside the barrier because I didn't want to play the whole game just for practice. I tried back-tracking but being on the opposite side of Mettaton on his stage at the core automatically sends you back to the corridor with the elevator to the castle, so I couldn't get any items TO use.
It's seriously hard to pull off a no-hit... But I'm determined to do it!
