You can use layers to change how certain objects look, depending on how you stack them near each other! For example, you could make a mountain by combining multiple of the accessory 'Shed Horn' to start off, but more complex shapes are also possible (and you can use different accessories too)! Last month, I made a pointing finger (like the one in Metronome) using multiple Shed Horns, despite there being no hand-shaped accessory available. Unfortunately there's no easy way to edit layers like in other art programs - you'll need to use the buttons "Move towards foreground" and "Move towards background" to make adjustments, and they just move the accessory up or down one layer each click.
