	Atticus hesitated, hearing Lucinda. He walked with them, heading to the headmistresses's office. To avoid his hand getting crushed, he kept both in his pockets. Atticus was sitting peacefully in the hedges, lost in thought. He was so disconnected from the world, dreaming of roses and burbling wine. After he and Rin had set up a curtain dividing their room, he went to the rose garden to take a nap. The warm sun was beating on his face, and the sweet perfume of roses drifted through him. He had picked another extremely colorful rose, so he was hiding until the side effect blush faded.

Atticus wanted to object to what she had said about Mother, but the sense that she was more injured than him nagged at his conscience. He shook his head. “No, the other telepath,” his voice broke and his face flushed again, the downside of little pigment in his skin was him easily turning red, “She… I didn’t kill her. She did.” He stood still for a moment, his eyes glazing over. He blinked a few times, catching himself, He shook his head. He shouldn’t have come to the rose garden. It was too colorful, making him open up more. He shook his head, “Less about me. I read a few files from the school log. There’s no Catherine Essence. There’s a Magma Essence though. Care to tell me about that, emotionless?”

Atticus’s face flushed and he quickly returned some of the pigment to the rose. “You idiot.” He grumbled. The mask of color slightly returned, but quickly faded. He tried to push her out of his head. This is stupid, he thought, I do deserve everything. Mother said… He realized halfway through that she was still in his head, “Get out of my head, idiot.” The last telepath that had pissed him off… no, she died, he stood and walked straight up to the loser. “Fine, I suppose you deserve to know. Atticus Redding, and I’m here because I just like roses.”

Atticus glanced up warily. Just holding the rose was making him weak with temptation. The colors in her eyes and hands were wavering, his powers must’ve been going on the fritz. He drained the rose of its color, leaving it as white and bland as his shirt and stood. “Naturally, street vermin like you would be wary of the ones like us.” He glanced over her, long straight hair, maybe a few centimeters shorter, tight black and purple dress, too much style. “I should be asking you the same… ah how do I say this… heretic.” She didn’t seem the one to follow rules and tradition. The dead white rose was limp in his hands, the pigment had returned to his skin, along with an undesirable effect; a dumb little blush. He ran his hand through his hair, combing it, and stared at the little imp that had interrupted his peace.

Caspian sat in a corner, enjoying a good book. Inside his coat pocket though, he fiddled with a coin. The metal was already worn away, but it was his Talisman. He finished the book and flipped to the back to write a note. Along with some doodles, there were always times when he finished; Waking, noon, Nighttime, etc. He wrote noon this time. He glanced around, making sure no one caught him, and took his coin out. He was too excited to eat, so he held the coin to the light. That very morning, he was looking at the edges and found letters and words. They might've been gibberish, but as far as Casp knew, it was custom made and he might be able to trace his heritage.
