Death was getting impatient. Whenever Sliuril came close, he teleported to another location. "Sliuril, c'mon, reason this out. You know full well that it's not my decision. I'm merely a servant of Balance."
He felt compelled to add 'and if you don't stop fighting now, 'Balance' is gonna come in and whoop both our a**es, ya dumb b***h', but restrained himself.

Death waved a dismissive hand and the blades scattered in every direction, providing a serious threat to the surrounding soldiers. He took his focus off the fight for a moment to redirect any blades that might hit one of them.

Death gripped the scythe in both hands and used the handle to hit Sliuril's arm, deflecting the blade upwards. With that he used a basic Force Push spell to propel Sliruil away.

Death put his scythe's handle between the blade and himself. Once it absorbed the blow, he twisted around, bringing the deadly blade slicing through the air at Sliuril's legs this time.

Death saw Sliuril switch to the defensive, sighed, spread his arms as if to say 'really?' and teleported behind Sliuril. His scythe was already swinging around at neck height.

The projectiles seemed to evaporate as they crossed his scythe. Death stood statue still, waiting to see her next move. He wondered if he should start using his own offensive spells now, but decided against it. He was here to convince her of something. He knew the fight would achieve nothing. "Why are they off limits, again?" he asked.

"Dear Lord!" Locke shouted. "I'm gonna compile a list of things that you, as a commanding officer, should never say in your life." He said.

Death waited, assessing the situation. Dragon, elf, guns. He'd wait for them to attack. He raised his scythe in a defensive position.

"Ah." Death said, readying his scythe. "Unfortunate. Perhaps I should have mentioned earlier that you don't get a choice. Revise your answer or regret it, I have a job to do." he said, his eyes glowing.

"Locke and Dutch." Death said flatly, bracing himself. "And the Blood Gulch operatives. And the Freelancers."

"I'd expect you to know that messing with the foundations of the universe and aiding the rise of the Corruptor and The Old Gods would be a bad thing." Death deadpanned.

"The meaning of this is that two soldiers you know need to die. You need to... ah... 'retract what you offered' to your parents for it to happen. You understand these things and know why this is necessary." Death answered, not sure how she would react. He was hoping for a 'okay, then', but wasn't sure if he was going to get it.

"Who said anything about hurting. I wish to kill. But not anyone currently present, so it should not be a problem. I do, however, need to speak to her." he answered. He turned to John. "To answer your question, I am Death. Put those toys away before you hurt yourself. My agenda is fairly busy as it is." he advised, nodding at the guns. He turned back to Faith. "I need a favour of her. One that she won't like." he told her, leaning against his scythe. "Quickly as possible, if you don't mind."

Death glared at them for a moment. Then he opened a portal, muttering something about 'the balance of the universe'. Before going through, he gave an exaggerated bow to them. "Thank you."
With that, he stepped through to the portal he had opened which transported him to Sliuril's location.
Now, Death was a fairly imposing figure and usually relied upon that to get his way. If that didn't work, he could always bring up the fact that he was Death. He was not, however, very big on tact and subtlety. So he hadn't bothered to cloak himself before exiting the portal. He stepped through it into the midst of several humans, something he had not counted on. But as he was Death, he had to pretend that he was not, as it appeared, trippin', but was in fact chillin' like a villain. He took the sudden turn of events into stride.
"Open it." he rasped, pointing at the cryo tube.

Death looked at them. "You have made a promise to your daughter. I am going to have to ask you to break it. Drop the protection you have granted the soldiers." he considered for a moment. "Please." he added, fully aware that every moment he spent in the Godsphere was not only a moment in which he got weaker, but a moment where his targets would be heading towards their destination at a much, much faster rate. He needed to conclude this before they arrived.

Locus looked around at the village. He'd made surprisingly good time and his tracker told him that he had about a day and a half to prepare. His employer had dropped everything he had asked for. He got to work setting it up.

"Thanks." both soldiers nodded.

Death sighed and shook his head. His job had just gotten much harder. Most of the group, he would collect soon, with the exception of a few. But two of his targets had the sort of protection that made even Death think twice. He decided the only way to bypass it was to get it withdrawn from the source. Usually easy, but in this case, the source was Sliuril's parents. He sighed again. Death would simply have to ask nicely. He opened a portal to the Godsphere and stepped through.

"Sounds like typical Sliuril. Does the weirdest stuff in the world and never explains it. Let me draw your attention to exhibit A..." he gestured to the Blood Gulch operative. "She hasn't even talked about killing Caboose yet."
Caboose was near the back of the group, rifle in hand.
"Whoa, you gave him a gun?" Dutch half-shouted.
"Don't worry, I have a HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL 'Mantis' Mark 9 Armor Defense System's AI controlling it."
"WHAT?"
"Relax, it's safer than Caboose handling it."
"How'd you figure that out?"
"I gave Caboose the gun for three seconds."
"Oh. What happens when he pulls the trigger?"
"It sprays confetti."
Dutch looked at Locke to make sure he wasn't joking. His visor gave nothing away.

"Got it." Locke said and then added a hasty 'sir'. He looked at the group. "You know, SPARTANs outnumber non-SPARTANs in this group. That's a first." he noted. "And, for the record, I haven't died once in my entire career. Which is more than can be said for you guys." he nodded at the Blood Gulch operatives.

Felix made sure the others were gone. He had placed trackers on the armour of three of the Blood Gulch operatives and Agent Washington. Locus would know when they were coming. But he had less time than he thought. Still, he'd have a day and he would see them coming. With those thoughts, he started his long journey back to the pickup point.

"Okay." Locke nodded. The Freelancers and Blood Gulch guys showed up. "Guys, I need to try to get Locus. You guys go ahead, I'll meet you there, okay?" Felix said. Locke shrugged. Jack, meanwhile, had slipped back into the Void and intended to stay there until it was over with.

Jack made sure that Sliuril was gone before he shook his head. "If Death has a plan for you, my presence will not help. But I have something that will." He looked at Glaurug and held out the Sword of Aeons to him. "I've made some changes so that the augmentations will function. I've also added a few souls into it so that it will project a shield around the group. Bring it back or your death will be particularly... unpleasant." he assured him.
Locke was, meanwhile, talking to Felix. "Round everyone up. Where's Locus?"
"I dunno. He got angry at something and went into the forest."
"Damn."
