Gracie raised an eyebrow at him as he spoke to Vaporeon, before she crouched down to talk to the water type, “Why don’t you go find the others and keep them out of trouble for me?” she asked her, straightening up again as the Pokemon bounded off deeper into the forest in the direction that the rest of the team had ran off earlier. “Lu?” she asked, assuming that this was the name of his friend and that said friend was human. “You think more people would be willing to fight then?” she nodded, determined to push her fears of failure to the side. She could be strong; she would not be some weak little girl that needed comforting (No matter how much that last bit may be true at the moment, she just saw it as a weakness) “Do you think if we found others we’d stand a better chance? Shaking her head at the water types ridiculousness, Gracie looked back over at Tiger and lifted one shoulder in a shrug, “Sorry.” Hearing him doubting the chances of defeating N, she couldn’t help but to lose the little bit of hope that she had found, her body sagging in disappointment. “I know, it was just nice to wish, y’know?” She had managed to push back her fears that Plasma would not be beaten, she had distracted herself with her training and trying to keep safe. She guessed that actually speaking to someone else that was willing to fight against the team had dragged all of her thoughts to the front of her mind. She stood up straight at hearing that he had beaten a champion, her eyes lighting up with what could only be described as hope. “Then we actually stand a chance,” she breathed, “I mean, if you can beat N, then maybe a stop can be put to the stupid rules.” Oh, she knew it would not be easy still, but just having that little bit of hope… It was the best feeling, one that she had needed. She glanced down at Vaporeon when she saw Cyndaquil glancing at her. Gracie shook her head at the sight of her old friend looking almost smug. “It’s alright,” she told him before nudging Vaporeon, “I’m sorry about her as well. She likes winding up fire types, I think it started since she was the only water type on an otherwise all fire team.” She offered Cyndaquil a gentle smile, “She won’t attack again,” she told him. ‘Not unless she feels like we’re in danger,’ being the part that she did not add. She perked up slightly at the mention of a different champion, she had heard of him, “You fought Lance?” she raised an eyebrow, “Impressive. How did you do?” She nodded at hearing about his brother, “They arrested them? Yeah, they like to do that,” she sighed, deciding that she would give him a chance. “They took my dad,” she offered. “It’s why I’m training out here.” "I'm Gracie, by the way," she introduced herself before shifting Shinx slightly higher, "And I believe you've been introduced to Shinx and Vaporeon here," she smiled slightly, unable to help herself even as she was offering him an olive branch. “Yeah, you could say that again,” she muttered, shaking her head at the thought of the champion. Oh how she would love to become strong enough to beat him! ‘Patience,’ she thought, ‘patience and lots of work.’ “If you aren’t a grunt then I guess you’re hiding out?” she asked him after scooping Shinx up and holding her against her chest, slightly unnerved by the lack of emotion in his eyes. She would not be letting her guard down, not while she had her Pokemon to look after and a job to do still. And not letting her guard down meant still being ready to make a quick break for it. She glanced around at the ground below her, trying to figure out which direction the voice had come from, before she looked between her Pokemon. ‘Okay, we can get out of this,’ she thought to herself. She pointed at Shinx to indicate to come closer, which the Pokemon did, crawling across the branch that they were resting on until she was nearly in Gracie’s lap with Axew. She bent forward to be closer to Shinx’s level, closing the rest of the gap. “I’m going to need you to be as quick as you can now, okay?” she whispered to Shinx, her voice as quiet as she could make it, “I know you can do it though. When I give you the signal I need you to jump down and do the best Shock Wave that you can manage.” Gracie smiled as the Shinx nodded her head, pressing a kiss to the top of the Pokemons head, “Good girl,” she said before she turned her head slightly to address the Vaporeon that was still draped around her shoulders. “You know what I need from you, don’t you?” she smiled as she addressed one of the Pokemon that she had grown up knowing. Vaporeon flicked her tail slightly as she nuzzled Gracie’s cheek. “I know,” she murmured before shifting forward on the branch to allow the water type to climb down on to her own branch. As soon as she was free of Vaporeon she turned to the remaining three Pokemon, “Come here, Axew,” she mumbled as she lifted him up to place him on her shoulder, “Hold on tight to the backpack, okay? And you two,” she looked at her Chimchar and Riolu, “Get ready to make a quick escape.” Once she was sure that all of the Pokemon were ready for their assigned roles, Gracie shifted on her branch as quietly as she could, ready to make a quick decent. Glancing down to where the voice had come from she cleared her throat, pushed her fear to the back of her mind (they would not be caught!) and then called out: “No chance, grunt!” And that was the signal for Vaporeon and Shinx to leap from the branches, one firing off a Hydro Pump and making a quick retreat before the other fired a Shock Wave through the trees in the direction of the voice. The electric type move being fired just in time for Gracie to land on the ground and catch sight of their target. “Wait, since when did Plasma grunts wear normal clothes?” [Read more] |

The Chimchar looked towards her and nodded his head slightly, a determined look on his face. Gracie flashed him a slight smile before bracing herself and looking determined back at him. She nodded her head at him, giving him the signal to go for it. Oh boy, was she glad that she had braced for the attack, her arms crossed in front of her face to offer some protection, when the flaming wheel that was her Chimchar came charging at her. “Ugh!” she grunted, falling backwards as the attack ended and Chimchar landed on his feet a few metres away from her – looking proud of himself for a few minutes before rushing up to his trainer, worried. She shook her head slightly to clear her thoughts before grinning at her Chimchar. “That was great! You’re getting so much stronger!” She told him as she grabbed him in a hug. All of a sudden her Riolu – her dad’s Riolu, he belongs with her dad, no matter how much he feels like part of her team now – shot to attention from where he was practicing his punches against a tree. He ran towards her as he grabbed her attention, pointing back towards the entrance of the forest. “Wha- Someone’s near here?” Gracie looked shocked for half a second before she jumped into action. “Hide!” She called out to her Pokemon. She grabbed her backpack from where she had abandoned it earlier against a tree, paused only long enough to put it on her back and let Vaporean climb onto her shoulders, before she started to climb one of the trees. She knew that her other Pokemon would be doing the same thing. Once she was high enough she sat herself down on one of the branches, leaning her back against the trunk of the tree as she caught her breath. She smiled slightly as her Axew settled himself on her lap. They would be safe out of sight up in the trees and if they needed to then they had the option of a surprise attack from above. Name: Gracie Blake Age: 15 Looks/wears: Bright blue eyes, freckles across her nose, and curly hair that she usually wears in a high ponytail. She is slightly short for her age with an athletic figure. Gracie normally wears a short-smokey purple coloured dress, a dark grey stripe going around the waist of it, with a dark blue plaid shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the bottom tied over the top. She wears black shorts under the skirt of her dress, black boots, and black fingerless gloves, all to give her outfit a touch of practicality even while keeping a feminine look. She has a dark grey backpack and a keystone attached to a necklace that she wears under her dress. Friends/rival: None currently Pokemon team: Chimchar, Riolu (originally her dads), Shinx (originally her dads), Vaporeon (originally her dads), Axew, Cubchoo Home region: Sinnoh Summons item?: (Yes/no) No Other: She's lived with just her dad for as long as she can remember. Back in Sinnoh she did not get to start her Pokemon journey because she was busy helping out at a local ranch to earn some money to help her dad (It was while working there that she was gifted an egg that later hatched into her first partner - Chimchar). When her dad got a new job though, one that involved moving to Unova, she finally had her chance to start her journey and work towards her dream of becoming the Champion! She already knew that she would be taking her Chimchar on her journey with her as her starter, so she would often spend the time before she was to set off for her journey training with the young Pokemon - occasionally some of her dads Pokemon would join her. It was during one of her training sessions where she was out with Chimchar as well as her dad's Riolu, Shinx, and Vaporeon, that Team Plasma arrested her dad and took away his other Pokemon - Charizard, Arcanine, and Rapidash. Gracie was lucky that she was not with him and that she remained free, though her dad being taken gave her a new goal - she was going to become strong enough to get him and his partners back! She did not care how dangerous it was, she had to do it. There was no way that she could just remain at their house without him. [Read more] |

It looks pretty at first glance but I think some mix of the colours (too light?) and the arrangement made it hard for me to focus on the words long enough to read them [Read more] |
